Bankrupt Labour-run Birmingham City Council signs off on £300m worth of ‘devastating’ cuts and 21% rise in council tax

The local authority has declared itself effectively bankrupt and says it needs to make £300m in savings, after being hit with a £760m bill to settle equal pay claims.
