Two children were killed and nine others were injured in the attack at a Taylor Swift-themed yoga and dance classSouthport Football Club said it has cancelled tonight’s pre-season friendly match with Morecambe FC “out of respect to those who have so tragically lost their lives” and to those who will be “deeply impacted” by the Southport attack. The match was scheduled to take place in the club’s Haig Avenue stadium this evening, near the scene of the incident.In a post on social media yesterday evening, the club said in a statement:The club would like to reiterate that tomorrow the Club Lounge will be open from 10am-3pm for those who wish to gather, share their thoughts and find support during this difficult time.Specialist support staff will be present to offer assistance and comfort to those who need it.
