JESSE WATTERS: Kamala Harris ‘choked’ with her decision to choose Tim Walz as her running mate

JESSE WATTERS: Kamala Harris 'choked' with her decision to choose Tim Walz as her running mate

Fox News host Jesse Watters analyzes Vice President Kamala Harris’ newly-chosen running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Tuesday on “Jesse Watters Primetime.”JESSE WATTERS: Kamala Harris announced her VP pick today. And this ticket is so liberal, it’s like they’re trying to lose. Here’s the authentic, not staged at all, call Kamala made to the governor of Minnesota, Tim Waltz. FIVE CONTROVERSIES SURROUNDING VICE PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE TIM WALZ, FROM DUI TO COVID FRAUD…This was Kamala’s first major decision, and she choked. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was the frontrunner, but sources say he was too Jewish for the Hamas wing of the party and was too talented a campaigner and would steal the spotlight from Harris. So her cowardice and her insecurities forced her to choose the only guy who looks older than Biden. Here they are together in Philly. …How did Kamala pick a vice president more radical than she is? They’re the Jordan and Pippen of progressives. The last time Harris-Walz tangoed, he let rioters burn down Minneapolis, and she bailed him out. Walz blamed America for the Black Lives Matter riots and said they were exciting.

Josh Shapiro, Tim Walz: Most Americans have never heard of possible Harris VP picks

Josh Shapiro, Tim Walz: Most Americans have never heard of possible Harris VP picks

Governor who? Senator what’s-his-name? The leading candidates to be Vice President Harris’ running mate on the Democratic presidential ticket are Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. If those names are unfamiliar to you, count yourself among the majority of Americans who don’t know or have never heard of the Democrats who could be the next vice president, according to an NPR/PBS News Marist poll. The survey found Kelly has the highest favorability of the three candidates for the No. 2 job in the White House, 31% favorable to 18% unfavorable, but 52% of respondents still said they were unsure or have never heard of him. Shapiro, who is speculated to be the front-runner in the veepstakes since Harris will make her first appearance with her running mate in Philadelphia, has a 25%-23% favorable to unfavorable rating. Still, 53% of Americans are unsure. HARRIS HOURS AWAY FROM MOST CONSEQUENTIAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF HER CAREERAs for Walz, the progressive favorite is by far the most unknown of the three, with 71% of survey respondents saying they were unsure or had never heard of him. Meanwhile, Harris has improved her favorability numbers, which are now 46-48% favorable-unfavorable compared to 40-44% in the previous Marist survey. The Republican nominee, former President Trump, is viewed mostly unfavorable, 53%, in contrast to 44% of respondents who have a positive view of the GOP candidate. Trump’s unfavorable score increased four points since the last Marist poll, which was taken right after the Republican National Convention and the assassination attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania. The survey of 1,613 adults was conducted between Thursday and Sunday and has a +/- 3.3 percentage point margin of error. Respondents were contacted via cellphone, landline or online research panels in both English and Spanish. KAMALA HARRIS HOLDING RALLY IN PENNSYLVANIA TO INTRODUCE RUNNING MATE AFTER SECURING DEMOCRATIC NOMINATIONHarris is scheduled to announce her selection at a rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday evening. This will be Harris’ first visit to Pennsylvania as the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, after formerly securing the nomination on Monday. The trip also marks her seventh visit to the commonwealth this year and the 17th since she was sworn in as vice president in 2021.Kelly, Shapiro and Walz are the finalists for the VP job in a truncated vetting process after President Biden shocked the nation by dropping out of the 2024 race and endorsed Harris to succeed him. Harris was in Washington, D.C., over the weekend conducting in-person interviews with her potential running mates, Democratic sources confirmed to Fox News. Others under consideration include Govs. Andy Beshear of Kentucky and JB Pritzker of Illinois, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.IT’S OFFICIAL: VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS FORMALLY WINS THE DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATIONAhead of her meetings with the contenders, Harris was briefed by a vetting team led by former Attorney General Eric Holder. The rollout of the announcement is not known, but it’s likely it could come through a video introduction, similar to how Biden announced Harris as his running mate four years ago. But the Harris campaign’s plans could be upended on Monday or Tuesday by a media leak of the announcement. After the rally in Philadelphia, Harris and her to-be-named running mate will team for an ambitious and jam-packed swing state tour through Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada, the seven battlegrounds that will likely determine the outcome of the presidential election. The vice president drew over 10,000 at her first major rally since taking over for Biden at the top of the Democrats’ ticket, last week at the Georgia State Convocation Center in Atlanta.Harris will be shadowed on her tour by Republican candidate for vice president JD Vance, forces confirmed to Fox News. The Ohio senator will act as the Trump campaign’s attack dog, attempting to persuade voters against Harris in key swing states. Fox News Digital’s Paul Steinhauser and Landon Mion contributed to this report.

Texas man sentenced to 40 years in prison for decapitating his wife, leaving her head in the shower

Texas man sentenced to 40 years in prison for decapitating his wife, leaving her head in the shower

A Texas man was sentenced to 40 years in prison as part of a plea agreement after pleading guilty to murdering his newlywed wife.Jared James Dicus’s sentencing was handed down on Wednesday by Judge Gary Chaney after chopping 21-year-old Anggy Diaz’s head off and leaving it in the shower in 2023.Dicus, now 23, pleaded guilty to murder and his earliest parole date will not be until 2043. The Waller County District Attorney’s Office consulted with Diaz’s family before finalizing the plea deal and sentencing.During the pre-trial phase of the case, potential mental health issues were raised regarding Dicus’s competency to stand trial, but he was considered competent to stand trial after a court-ordered examination according to a statement released by the Waller County District Attorney’s Office.TEXAS MAN CONFESSES TO DECAPITATING NEWLYWED ‘UNDOCUMENTED’ WIFE: REPORTAs part of the plea deal, Dicus waived his right to appeal the verdict, the sentence and any potential defense, including an insanity defense. He also waived any post-conviction writ of habeas corpus.”Waller County does not tolerate domestic violence. Heinous crimes like this one will not go unanswered,” Waller County District Attorney Sean Whittmore said in the statement. “We will seek justice for the victims of domestic violence and send a message to the perpetrators that here, we fight for our victims.”Diaz, who had worked as counter help at a local business, was originally from Nicaragua and was initially in the care of an aunt when she first arrived in the U.S., her family said last year.TEXAS MAN ALLEGEDLY DECAPITATES NEWLYWED WIFE, SHERIFF SAYS ‘PARTS AND PIECES WERE RECOVERED’Dicus was charged in January 2023 with murdering Diaz after marrying her three months earlier. Waller County Sheriff’s Office deputies found Diaz on the couple’s bedroom floor in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds in her back, and what appeared to be her head was located in the shower.Waller County Sheriff Troy Guidry said evidence showed that a kitchen knife was the murder weapon and that “all parts and pieces were recovered.”After Diaz’s death last year, Dicus confessed to investigators that he murdered his wife.

ICE nabs Colombian gang leader who was caught, released by border agents back into US

ICE nabs Colombian gang leader who was caught, released by border agents back into US

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced that they captured a validated Colombian gang leader wanted for homicide, aggravated theft, and arms trafficking in his home country who was illegally in the U.S. ICE said the Colombian fugitive is a validated leader of the Las Colinas criminal organization based in Santa Marta, Colombia. The 29-year-old was caught by Border Patrol in September 2023, after illegally crossing into the U.S. near San Ysidro, California. He was served with a notice to appear before a Department of Justice immigration judge. He was then transferred to Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) San Diego. Inexplicably, the gang leader was then served an order of release on recognizance and released from custody, ICE said.SCATHING REPORT REVEALS BIDEN-HARRIS ADMIN HAS RELEASED DOZENS OF MIGRANTS ON TERROR WATCHLIST INTO USHe was allowed to roam freely in the U.S. for nearly a year before ERO Baltimore arrested him in Maryland last week. “This Colombian fugitive is wanted by authorities in his home country for allegedly committing some violent crimes,” said ERO Baltimore acting Deputy Field Office Director Vernon Liggins. “He attempted to hide from justice in Maryland, and we simply cannot allow that to happen. Our officers are the best in the world at finding people who don’t want to be found, and we will not allow our Maryland communities to become safe havens for the world’s bad actors. ERO Baltimore will continue to prioritize public safety by apprehending egregious noncitizen offenders.”His arrest comes as significant issues with vetting at the southern border, and problems within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a whole continue to plague the organization.AUTHORITIES NAB 8 SUSPECTED TERRORISTS WITH TIES TO ISIS IN MULTI-CITY STING OPERATIONA scathing new report from the House Judiciary Committee Republicans reveals the Biden-Harris administration has released dozens of migrants on terror watchlists into the U.S.”Under the Biden-Harris Administration, of the more than 250 illegal aliens on the terrorist watchlist who were encountered by Border Patrol at the southwest border between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, DHS has released into American communities at least 99, with at least 34 others in DHS custody but not yet removed from the United States,” the report by Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, a copy of which was first obtained by Fox News Digital, said.”That does not include the untold numbers of potential terrorists that evaded Border Patrol to enter the United States as part of nearly 2 million “gotaways” since the beginning of the Biden-Harris Administration,” the report says.ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT CHARGED IN 13-YEAR-OLD NYC GIRL’S RAPE PREVIOUSLY CAUGHT BY BORDER PATROL, RELEASED INTO USThe report, citing information provided to committee staff in June, also found that Border Patrol had encountered migrants on the terror watchlist from 36 different countries.DHS has also identified over 400 individuals brought to the U.S. from Eastern European and Central Asian countries by an ISIS-affiliated smuggling network in the past several months.Back in June, eight Tajikistan nationals with ties to ISIS were busted by federal authorities in New York City, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. All eight came in via the southern border illegally, but no derogatory information was flagged during processing, sources told Fox News.”With national security experts and immigration officials increasingly concerned about the threat of terrorism originating from the border, it is clear that policymakers must take all necessary steps to secure the border and stop the flow of illegal aliens. However, the Biden-Harris Administration has refused to address the national security nightmare created by its radical, open-borders agenda,” the staff interim report read.Fox News’ Adam Shaw contributed to this report.

Columbia University students file lawsuit against organizers, supporters of anti-Israel campus encampments

Columbia University students file lawsuit against organizers, supporters of anti-Israel campus encampments

Five Columbia University students and graduates filed a class action lawsuit on Monday against the students, activists and unions that they claim organized and backed anti-Israel encampments that forced the university campus to shut down at the end of the 2024 spring semester. The case, which includes Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, N.Y., Jamaal Bowman, N.Y., and Ilhan Omar, Minn., as defendants, alleges the Columbia students were subject to bullying and harassment, refused access to in-person classes and campus facilities, as well as denied a commencement which was canceled because of unrest on campus. The student plaintiffs remained anonymous for fear of retaliation given certain “hateful rhetoric,” disregard for the law and ties to terrorist organizations among defendants, according to the complaint. The suit, filed on July 26, was formally received Monday in New York County.Campus protesters screamed chants such as “Death to Israel,” “Death to America,” “Death to Jews,” “Hamas we love you. We support your rockets too!,” “Is‐ra‐el go to Hell,” and “The 7th of October is going to be every day for you,'” the lawsuit states. Two Jewish Columbia students were reportedly called “Nazi B—-es” and Jewish students were punched, shoved, spat at and physically blocked from moving freely throughout campus by participants in the encampment, the suit claims.COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT GRILLED ON PRO-TERRORIST PROFESSORS ON CAMPUS”This case is brought on behalf of the students who were forced to pay that high price by the tortious acts of on-campus students and faculty and their off-campus allies who conspired to organize and continue the two-week encampment. That encampment, and the safety threat that it created, forced Columbia to move classes online, restrict access to campus immediately before finals, and ultimately cancel commencement,” the suit states. The anti-Israel activists wanted the university to divest its financial support of Israel, become more transparent with the university’s investments and provide blanket amnesty to students who had taken part in the demonstrations.”These past two weeks have been among the most difficult in Columbia’s history,” Columbia President Minouche Shafik said of the anti-Israel encampment and its impact on the broader campus in April. “The turmoil and tension, division and disruption, have impacted the entire community. You, our students, have paid an especially high price. You lost your final days in the classroom and residence halls. For those of you who are seniors, you are finishing college the way you started: online.”Daniel Suhr, lead counsel on the case and partner at Hughes & Suhr LLC, said the 36,000 students at Columbia University deserve financial compensation for being wrongfully denied access to the education, experience and campus they pay to attend.”Radical protesters are burning the American flag, vandalizing the homes of community leaders, and shutting down entire universities,” he told Fox News Digital. “We are fighting back to stop this lawbreaking, expose the people behind it, and provide justice to the victims of the chaos at Columbia.”The suit’s organizers told Fox News Digital the plaintiffs are seeking $30 million in damages, although that specific total isn’t listed in the suit.Columbia University itself is not a defendant in the lawsuit. Instead, the students are targeting the student groups that organized the encampments, including Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine and the Graduate Students Union, as well as the faculty groups that the lawsuit claims defended them from accountability, like the Columbia/Barnard Chapter of the American Association of University Professors. In addition, the lawsuit names groups like National Students for Justice in Palestine, Within Our Lifetime, the People’s Forum, the United Auto Workers (UAW) and politicians like Ocasio-Cortez, Omar and Bowman.3 COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY STAFF MEMBERS REMOVED AFTER ANTISEMITIC TEXT MESSAGE EXCHANGE: ‘DEEPLY UPSETTING’”This case is vital not only to secure justice for the students affected at Columbia but for all university students nationwide who pay to receive an education and are disrupted by violent and well-funded agitators whose only mission is to cause disruption and chaos to pursue their own radical political beliefs,” case attorney Patrick Hughes said. The protests at Columbia intensified after it began issuing mass suspensions. Anti-Israel protesters at Columbia took over Hamilton Hall, an academic building used by the dean and other senior offices shortly before 1 a.m. on April 30 and began “moving metal gates to barricade the doors, blocking entrances with wooden tables and chairs, and zip-tying doors shut,” according to the student newspaper Columbia Spectator, Fox News Digital previously reported. In June, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg dropped cases against 30 Columbia University students and staff members who were arrested during the campus unrest, including those who occupied and barricaded themselves in Hamilton Hall in April. The DA’s office claimed insufficient evidence of damage to property or injury to individuals as an explanation for dropping the charges. Suhr said the lawsuit is about holding accountable those who shut down the university, forced the cancelation of classes and broke the law. COLUMBIA RABBI TELLS JEWISH STUDENTS TO LEAVE CAMPUS, WARNS THAT SCHOOL, NYPD ‘CANNOT GUARANTEE YOUR SAFETY’”It’s been months since the encampment at Columbia, and we are no closer to answers or accountability,” Suhr said. “The DA dropped the criminal charges, and the university is desperate to get back to business as usual. This lawsuit will finally bring some justice for all of the Columbia students who saw their school year ruined by the lawbreaking and harassment of these unhinged activists.””Doing so wasn’t an exercise of First Amendment rights – it was a violation of the rights of every other Columbia student to the education they paid for,” he added. Fox News Digital reached out to the defendants for comment.Fox News’ Lawrence Richard contributed to this report.

Four years ago, Biden’s campaign announced Harris as his running mate via a text to supporters on Aug. 11, 2020.The range of candidates shows Harris is conscious that she needs a running mate who will help her appeal to more moderate voters, given her far-left voting record in the Senate.”I think she needs to pick someone who’s more moderate than her. I think she needs to pick someone that’s got more governing experience at the ground level,” former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said on ABC News’ “This Week.”KAMALA HARRIS SUPPORTERS UNSURE WHEN ASKED ABOUT VP’S POLICY ACCOMPLISHMENTSHe argued Harris should pick up Shapiro, saying it is not a “hard choice.”Shapiro would also offer a presumed advantage on Election Day, with Pennsylvania being a major swing state. Meanwhile, Walz’ Minnesota is more reliably blue.Sen. John Fetterman, D-Penn., reportedly warned Harris against picking Shapiro. He reportedly argued that Shapiro is too focused on “his own personal ambitions.”The pair had reportedly clashed over the years during their interactions in Pennsylvania state politics.

IDF says ‘suspicious aerial targets’ crossed from Lebanon before Israeli forces knocked them down

IDF says 'suspicious aerial targets' crossed from Lebanon before Israeli forces knocked them down

The Israeli Defense Forces said Sunday that it located “numerous suspicious aerial targets” crossing from Lebanon, prompting Israel to launch multiple interceptors that knocked the targets to the ground.According to a press release from the IDF, a fall was identified adjacent to the kibbutz Ayelet HaShahar. This came after sirens were heard in the upper Galilee. The incident moderately injured an IDF officer and soldier, who were both transported to a hospital for treatment. The families of the injured have been notified, the IDF said.Israel Fire Services are working to extinguish a fire that was ignited in the area during the attack.BIDEN TO MEET WITH NATIONAL SECURITY TEAM AHEAD OF ANTICIPATED IRANIAN ATTACK AGAINST ISRAELThe IDF said that, after the sirens that sounded in the areas of Kiryat Shmona and Kfar Giladi, it was determined to be false identification.IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, said in a press briefing that troops are in several areas, including the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Judea and Samaria, to thwart threats against Israel. In Gaza, the IDF is focusing on locating and neutralizing underground infrastructure in the Rafah area and the Philadelphi Corridor, Hagari said, adding that dozens of tunnels have thus far been located and are being investigated, neutralized and destroyed by troops.Hagari said not all of these tunnels are active, as some are old and the IDF has already dealt with them, but that all the tunnels are being neutralized. On Sunday morning, two Israeli citizens were killed and two others were wounded in a stabbing attack in the city of Holon, according to Hagari. The terrorist was neutralized at the scene by a police officer. On Saturday, the IDF and the Israeli Securities Authority prepared a response to an alert about a terrorist cell in the Tulkarm area in the West Bank, Hagari said. The cell was on its way to carry out a terror attack on an axis or in a community, but an aircraft eliminated the cell of five terrorists who were inside a vehicle, according to Hagari.Later that day, a counter-terrorism operation was conducted by the IDF and ISA in Tulkarm, where an aircraft killed four terrorists who had opened fire at Israeli forces. Troops also assisted from the ground, Hagari said.Following the operation, troops located large numbers of firearms, ammunition and military vests. Hagari said a lot of these weapons come to Judea and Samaria from Iran.”For years, Iran has been arming and financing terrorist organizations across the Middle East, including smuggling explosives into Israeli territory for terror attacks against civilians,” Hagari said. “The IDF and ISA have already thwarted numerous attacks in which Claymore type explosives were smuggled into the country’s territory. We are determined to continue acting against Iranian terrorism wherever it may be.”IDF UNCOVERS MASSIVE SMUGGLING TUNNEL FOR VEHICLES ON GAZA-EGYPT BORDERThis comes after Hamas terrorists’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel, which killed 1,200 people and roughly 250 others were abducted. Many of the hostages are still being held by Hamas.”This evening, we also remember the 115 hostages held by the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip,” Hagari said. “We are committed to bringing them all home as soon as possible — those who are alive to their families, and those who are no longer alive to burial in Israel. This is our goal, and we will continue to act with great determination to achieve it.”More than 39,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 90,000 wounded in the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry, although the count does not differentiate between civilians and terrorists.

Biden approves Florida emergency declaration over Tropical Storm Debby

Biden approves Florida emergency declaration over Tropical Storm Debby

President Biden approved an emergency declaration for Florida as Tropical Storm Debby barrels toward the Sunshine State, the White House confirmed Sunday. The president’s move helps free up federal resources and authorizes the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate all disaster relief efforts, the White House said. Debby was expected to become a hurricane as it moved through the Gulf of Mexico toward Florida, bringing with it the threat of devastating floods later in the week. The storm was likely to become a Category 1 hurricane before making landfall Monday in the Big Bend region of Florida, per the National Hurricane Center in Miami.DEATH TOLL FROM LANDSLIDE IN SOUTHERN INDIA REACHES 151 AS SEARCH OPTIONS CONTINUEThe flooding impacts, which could last through Friday, are expected to be especially severe in low-lying areas near the coast, including Savannah, Georgia, Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Charleston, South Carolina. The hurricane center said in an update posted at 11 a.m. Sunday that Debby was located about 130 miles west-southwest of Tampa, Florida, and about 160 miles south-southwest of Cedar Key, Florida. The storm was moving north-northwest at 13 mph with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph, up from 50 mph just a few hours ago.WYOMING WILDFIRE DESTROYS GOP REP’S CHILDHOOD HOME: ‘DEVASTATING'”I’d urge all Floridians to be cognizant of the fact that we are going to have a hurricane hit the state, probably a Category 1, but it could be a little bit more powerful than that,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a Sunday morning briefing.”But we are absolutely going to see a lot of rainfall. We are going to see a lot of saturation. We are going to see flooding events,” he said. “There is also going to be power outages.”DeSantis said that, for the first time, constructed flood control devices are being placed at utility stations to try to minimize the risk of power interruptions because of flooding. The National Hurricane Center predicted the system will strengthen as it curves off the southwest Florida coast, where the water has been extremely warm.DeSantis declared a state of emergency for 61 of Florida’s 67 counties, with the National Guard activating 3,000 members. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Fetterman skeptical of Harris picking Gov. Shapiro as running mate, sources say: Report

Fetterman skeptical of Harris picking Gov. Shapiro as running mate, sources say: Report

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., is reportedly warning against Vice President Kamala Harris picking Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro as her running mate. His aides informed Harris’ campaign about his concerns — including that Shapiro is too focused on “his own personal ambitions,” according to Politico, which cited three people familiar with the matter.Fetterman and Shapiro came into conflict during their service together on Pennsylvania’s Board of Pardons regarding second chances and the commutation process for convicts, the report stated.Shapiro is one of the leading candidates for Harris’ running mate after President Biden announced in July that he would withdraw from the race. VP SHORT-LISTER SHAPIRO ON DEFENSE OVER ISRAEL AFTER DECADES-OLD COLLEGE PAPER SURFACESShapiro’s staff, however, said the governor’s history on criminal justice reform is clear. “The governor evaluates every pardons case individually and on its merits and during his time as attorney general, he approved more pardons and commutations than all of his predecessors over the last 25 years, combined,” Shapiro spokesperson Will Simons told Politico. “He is proud of his record of delivering meaningful criminal justice reform while making Pennsylvania communities safer.”Fetterman still has “full-on, enthusiastic support for Kamala Harris,” one of the sources said his team expressed. That source described Fetterman’s advisers as giving his “unvarnished assessment” of Shapiro “that is not about policy differences or other public baggage.”HARRIS’ VETTING TEAM PRIVATELY MEETS WITH SHAPIRO, KELLY AHEAD OF VEEP ANNOUNCEMENT: REPORTShapiro has also been pressured to defend his stance on Israel in recent days as the competition to become Harris’ running mate heats up. The Philadelphia Inquirer uncovered the essay that Shapiro wrote for the Campus Times, the student newspaper of the University of Rochester, from which Shapiro graduated in 1995. In the 1993 article, Shapiro wrote that “Palestinians will not coexist peacefully,” because “they do not have the capabilities to establish their own homeland and make it successful even with the aid of Israel and the United States.”Shapiro, Fetterman and the Harris campaign did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.Fox News Digital’s Peter Aitken contributed to this report.
