Virginia school district launches pilot no cellphone policy using magnetic pouch that blocks signal

Virginia school district launches pilot no cellphone policy using magnetic pouch that blocks signal

The Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia (FCPS) is launching a pilot program for several middle schools to prohibit students’ cellphone access during the school day, starting in the 2024-25 school year.Seven schools will participate in the pilot program: Frost Middle School, Irving Middle School, Jackson Middle School, Poe Middle School, Robinson Middle School, Thoreau Middle School and Twain Middle School. The schools “will be phone-free during the school day in order to limit classroom disruptions and improve student engagement and learning,” FCPS said on its website.During the week of September 2, students attending schools in the pilot program will receive a cell phone storage pouch, called a Yondr pouch, which is magnetic and prevents students from using their phones, including for social media, text messages and phone calls.STATE LAWMAKERS PUSH FOR BAN ON PHONES IN SCHOOLSStudents will be responsible for their own Yondr pouch and will bring it with them to school every day.Upon arriving at school each morning, students will safely lock their phone in their Yondr pouch and carry it inside their backpack. Airpods must be secured in the pouch or placed in the students’ backpacks while smartwatches must be turned off or put on airplane mode.In situations where there is a family emergency, parents may contact the school’s front office.”The purpose of the pilot program is to create a more engaged learning environment for students, free of distraction from cell phones and social media,” FCPS said on its website. “Studies show that students who use their cell phones during instructional time focus less, learn less, and achieve lower grades.”The new cellphone policy will be enforced bell to bell each day at school.Students will hold onto their phones throughout the day but will not use them until their pouches are opened at the end of the school day at a Yondr unlocking station. If a student forgets their pouch, they must store their cellphone in the front office for the school day, and it will be returned to the student after school. In the event that a student damages or loses their pouch, school staff will collect the phone or pouch and send it to the front office for the remainder of the school day, and the student will be assessed an $18 replacement fee.NEWSOM SEEKS TO RESTRICT STUDENTS’ CELLPHONE USE IN SCHOOLS: ‘HARMING THE MENTAL HEALTH OF OUR YOUTH’This comes after Virginia Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin signed an executive order last month directing the Virginia Department of Education “to draft guidance for public school divisions to adopt local policies and procedures establishing cell phone-free education.””The necessity of implementing cell-phone free education in Virginia’s K-12 public schools is increasingly evident,” Youngkin wrote in the order. “Parents, public health professionals, educators, and other stakeholders across the Commonwealth are expressing concern over the alarming mental health crisis and chronic health conditions affecting adolescents, such as depression and anxiety, driven in part by extensive social media usage and widespread cell phone possession among children.””Cellphone-free education will significantly reduce the amount of time students can be on phones without parental supervision,” he added.Other school districts in Virginia and elsewhere, including California, New York, Texas and Georgia, have also begun implementing policies restricting cellphone use during the school day, with many utilizing the Yondr pouches.

Georgia activist steals the show after being introduced by Trump at Atlanta rally: ‘Incredible’

Georgia activist steals the show after being introduced by Trump at Atlanta rally: 'Incredible'

A Georgia activist stole the show after being introduced by former President Trump at his rally in Atlanta Saturday.Trump invited Michaelah Montgomery up on stage toward the end of his speech at the Georgia State University Convocation Center. He introduced Montgomery by explaining he met her at a restaurant this year.Trump said Montgomery, who attended Clark Atlanta University, had recognized him in public and commended him for funding historically Black colleges and universities.”She looks at me, says ‘It’s President Trump. You saved my college.’ And I said, ‘How the hell do you know that?’ … This one is so smart, so sharp,” Trump recalled.ALINA HABBA ACCUSES KAMALA HARRIS OF ‘COMMITTING A CRIME,’ COVERING UP BIDEN’S HEALTH”She grabbed me. She gave me a kiss,” he added. “I said, ‘I think I’m never going back home to the first lady.'” “You were supposed to keep that quiet,” Montgomery laughed. The former president commended Montgomery, describing her as “incredible” with a “tremendous future,” and told her he would do “whatever I can to help you,” before giving her the podium.”I do want to add on to some of the remarks that were made by others,” the conservative activist began. “And we do need to do our best to get the message out there. The fight is nothing if all we do is talk about it amongst ourselves.”Montgomery added that she was a founder of an organization called Conserve the Culture, which helps “mobilize the HBCU students so that they may get this [conservative] message.”THE ‘WEIRD’ CAMPAIGN: THE STUNNING DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HARRIS AND VANCE COVERAGE”Nobody needs this message more than my folks, so do y’all care for real?” Montgomery said to the cheering audience. “Are y’all with us for real?”I’ma give it back to Big T.”The rally took place days after Trump was criticized by the White House for statements he made at the recent National Association of Black Journalists convention about Vice President Kamala Harris’ racial identity.”She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage,” Trump said. “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black. And now she wants to be known as Black. So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?”On Wednesday, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson praised Trump for “answering tough questions” at the conference.”I commend my friend @realdonaldtrump for going into a hostile environment at @NABJ today and answering tough questions,” Carson said in a post on X.Fox News Digital reached out to the Trump campaign, but did not immediately hear back.

IOC president labels scrutiny about two Olympic boxers who failed gender test as ‘hate speech’

IOC president labels scrutiny about two Olympic boxers who failed gender test as 'hate speech'

International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach decried the so-called “hate speech” against two boxers who previously failed gender tests prior to the Paris Olympics.Algerian Imane Khelif and Taiwanese Lin Yu-Ting were both disqualified from the 2023 International Boxing Association (IBA) Women’s World Championships over what president Umar Kremlev said was a positive test for “XY chromosomes.” The IBA has maintained that Khelif and Lin both have competitive advantages that should preclude them from competing against women.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe IOC has pushed back on the IBA’s statements amid a firestorm of criticism against the IOC, Khelif and Lin. Bach said the “hate speech” against the fighters was “totally unacceptable.””We will not take part in a politically motivated … cultural war,” Bach said as he tried to tamp down on the scrutiny.”What is going on in this context in the social media with all this hate speech, with this aggression and abuse, and fueled by this agenda, is totally unacceptable.DR. SIEGEL: THE SIMPLE ANSWER TO OLYMPIC BOXING’S COMPLICATED PROBLEMBach maintained that both Khelif and Lin were women.”We have two boxers who are born as women, who have been raised as women, who have a passport as a woman and have competed for many years as women,” he said. “Some want to own a definition of who is a woman.”Khelif and Lin have both competed in the women’s division so far this Olympics.Khelif defeated Hungary’s Anna Luca Hamori and Italy’s Angela Carini on the way to a semifinals appearance and at least a bronze medal.Lin will fight again on Sunday.”Everybody in our world apparently feels obliged to say … anything without really considering the sometimes very complex circumstances,” Bach said. “You will not come to a proper decision if you organize a poll in the social media ‘Do you think this person is a woman or is not a woman?’”The Associated Press contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Trump agrees to debate Kamala Harris on Fox News

Trump agrees to debate Kamala Harris on Fox News

Former President Trump announced Friday night that he has agreed to Fox News’ proposal for a debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.Trump said the debate would be held on Sept. 4 in Pennsylvania, although the location of the event has not yet been determined. The former president also noted that an ABC News debate previously scheduled against President Biden before he suspended his re-election campaign had been canceled, citing his lawsuit against that network and one of its hosts, George Stephanopoulos.”I have agreed with FoxNews to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant, and I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest.”TRUMP SHOOTING: TIMELINE OF ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT RAISES QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW GUNMAN EVADED SECURITYThe moderators of the debate will be Fox News anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. The debate rules will be similar to the rules of the June 27 CNN debate against Biden, who Trump wrote “has been treated horribly by his Party.” But unlike the CNN debate, which did not have an audience, the Fox News debate will have spectators.Fox News had invited Trump and Harris to participate in a debate in Pennsylvania on Sept. 17.Harris said last month that she was “ready” to debate the former president and accused him of backpedaling away from the previous agreement to debate on ABC News on Sept. 10.This comes after Harris became the Democratic Party’s nominee for president after Biden announced he was dropping his re-election campaign.Trump previously said he would not debate Harris because she was not the party’s official candidate after Biden dropped out of the race. But on Friday, the vice president secured enough delegates to officially become the party’s nominee.IT’S OFFICIAL: VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS GOES OVER THE TOP AND CLINCHES DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION”As everyone knows, the Democrats have Unconstitutionally taken a Candidate, who was acknowledged to be defeated, and unceremoniously replaced him with a new Candidate,” Trump wrote. “This has never been done before, and is a Threat to Democracy, but I am totally prepared to accept the results of this ‘coup,’ and replace Joe on the Debate stage with Crazy Kamala Harris.””I spent Hundreds of Millions of Dollars, Time, and Effort fighting Joe, and when I won the Debate, they threw a new Candidate into the ring. Not fair, but it is what it is!” he continued. “Nevertheless, different Candidate or not, their bad Policies are the same, and this will be strongly revealed at the September 4th Debate. I look forward to meeting and debating Kamala Harris on September 4th. This date is convenient and appropriate in that it is just prior to the September 6th start of Early Voting in the 2024 Presidential Election. I look forward to seeing everyone on September 4th, in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania!”Trump also survived an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on July 13.

Aaron Judge becomes first player to hit 40 home runs this season with 477-foot blast

Aaron Judge becomes first player to hit 40 home runs this season with 477-foot blast

Aaron Judge might break the American League home run record again. The New York Yankees slugger belted his 40th home run of the season Friday, becoming the first player to do so in the majors this season. He did it in grand style, launching it 477 feet into the left field bleachers at Yankee Stadium.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMIt was a two-run blast off Kevin Gausman, the sixth he’s hit off the Toronto Blue Jays right-hander, to drive in his 100th and 101st runs of the season.Since May 3, Judge is hitting .377 with 34 home runs and a 1.338 OPS.It’s quite a turnaround for Judge. On May 2, he was hitting just .197, and Yankee fans were clamoring for him to be benched.DODGERS STAR FREDDIE FREEMAN ANNOUNCES SON, 3, BATTLING ‘ESPECIALLY RARE’ NEUROLOGICAL CONDITIONDespite that pitiful start, he still leads the major leagues in homers, RBIs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, OPS+ and total bases. His .318 batting average is also third in baseball.Judge is on pace for 58 home runs this season, and he is likely to join Babe Ruth, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa and Alex Rodriguez as the only players in MLB history to hit 50 homers in three different seasons. But his 162-game pace since May 5 is 72, so the record he set in 2022 with 62 homers is within reach. Judge is in the second year of a nine-year, $360 million deal he signed after that season. His $40 million annual average value is the most ever given to a position player, although teammate Juan Soto might surpass that this offseason. That contract looked scary last year because Judge missed a chunk of the season due to a toe injury after crashing into a concrete portion of the outfield wall at Dodger Stadium. He was hitting .291 with a 1.078 OPS at the time of the injury, but he hit just .238 after returning. But it doesn’t seem like fans need to worry much anymore. The Yankees have won five straight after going on an 11-24 skid to follow a 50-22 start. Entering Friday, they were tied with the Baltimore Orioles, who are on a skid of their own, for the AL East lead.Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Harris’ border remarks haunt down-ballot Dems as Lake ad previews GOP general election strategy

Harris’ border remarks haunt down-ballot Dems as Lake ad previews GOP general election strategy

FIRST ON FOX: Vice President Kamala Harris’ posture on the southern border crisis is set to haunt down-ballot Democrats in the November election, with Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake previewing the GOP’s attack in battleground states following the Democratic ticket shakeup. “Ruben Gallego and Kamala Harris: Bad for the border. Bad for Arizona. Bad for America,” a narrator says in Lake’s first ad of the general election campaign. The words appear over footage of Rep. Ruben Gallego, the Democratic nominee for Senate in Arizona, and Harris hugging. The video also slammed Gallego for his record of voting with President Biden and Harris 100% of the time in the 117th Congress between 2021 and 2022, according to FiveThirtyEight.REPUBLICANS LAMBASTE BIDEN FOR ISRAEL WEAPONS DELAYS: ‘STOP ACCOMMODATING IRAN’The ad is part of a $10 million ad reservation previously announced by Lake in May. Harris is seen in the video saying that she doesn’t think the U.S. should treat people who “cross the border as criminals.” The footage is from a 2019 appearance on “The View” during her bid for the Democratic nominee for president in the 2020 election. “We’re not going to support a border wall that is not needed,” Gallego says in subsequent footage. The statement from the Arizona Democrat was made on CNN in 2018. ‘NO KINGS ACT’: SCHUMER ADVANCES BIDEN SCOTUS OVERHAUL WITH BILL TO STRIP TRUMP’S IMMUNITYIn the next clip, Harris was asked by a CNN anchor whether she agreed with calls to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), to which she replied that, “we need to probably even think about starting from scratch.” The then-senator said, “I think there is no question that we’ve got to critically reexamine ICE and its role and the way it is being administered and the work it is doing,” prior to the remark in 2018.’DANGEROUS MESSAGE’: TOP REPUBLICAN RAISES CONCERNS OVER TRADING AMERICANS FOR ‘ACTUAL RUSSIAN CRIMINALS’A 2017 comment from Gallego describing the border wall proposed by former President Trump as “stupid” and “dumb” during a speech on the House floor is then played in the ad. The representative was criticizing the Trump administration for seeking to use military construction funds to continue the wall as the building process was otherwise stalled by Congress. “Ruben Gallego is a Marine combat veteran whose number one priority is securing our border and keeping Arizonans safe, which is why he is fighting tirelessly to hire more Border Patrol agents, fix our broken asylum system, crack down on fentanyl trafficking, and invest in proven technology — all to increase our border security,” a campaign spokesperson told Fox News Digital in a statement.”Meanwhile, Kari Lake is a power-hungry liar who will do or say anything to gain power, even if it means opposing a bipartisan, Border-Patrol backed bill to finally address the border crisis.”KAMALA HARRIS HIT FOR HER ROLE IN PROMOTING IRA FUNDING OF ‘ANTI-AMERICAN’ GROUPSThe Harris campaign referred Fox News Digital to her remarks at a recent Georgia rally, during which she pledged to the crowd, “As President, I will bring back the border security bill that Donald Trump killed, and I will sign it into law and show Donald Trump what real leadership looks like.”Trump was blamed by many with squashing a bipartisan negotiated border security bill and preventing it from garnering enough support to advance. However, Senate Republicans have pushed back on this, suggesting several of the measure’s components were non-starters. When the measure came for a test vote in May, two of the three negotiators, Sens. James Lankford, R-Okla., and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, I-Ariz., voted it down. Lake similarly argued that the bill didn’t secure the border and was a “complete joke.”Gallego said he would have supported the bipartisan negotiated bill, slamming Lake for her opposition.Lake officially won the Republican nod for Senate on Tuesday, defeating Sheriff Mark Lamb. Gallego ran for the Democratic nomination unopposed. Current incumbent Sinema revealed earlier this year that she wouldn’t be seeking re-election. She was first elected to the seat in 2018 as a Democrat before switching her party affiliation in 2022. The Arizona Senate race is rated “Lean Democratic” by non-partisan political handicapper the Cook Political Report, alongside races in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania featuring vulnerable incumbent Democratic Sens. Tammy Baldwin and Bob Casey. Get the latest updates from the 2024 campaign trail, exclusive interviews and more at our Fox News Digital election hub.

American reporter Evan Gershkovich and Marine veteran Paul Whelan were among four former prisoners released from Russia yesterday who finally stepped foot on American soil again Thursday night.A plane carrying the Americans freed by Russia during the large prisoner swap landed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, greeted by President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on the tarmac.”Welcome home,” Biden told reporters on the tarmac after visiting with the freed prisoners. “There’s nothing beyond our capacity if we work together. House Freedom Caucus member who tried to impeach Kamala Harris wins high-profile Tennessee GOP primary

House Freedom Caucus member who tried to impeach Kamala Harris wins high-profile Tennessee GOP primary

A first-term member of the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus, won his first primary as an incumbent on Thursday evening.Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., fended off a challenge from Nashville Metro Council member Courtney Johnston, who ran a more moderate campaign compared to the freshman Republican. It was a much-needed political victory for the Freedom Caucus this election cycle after its chairman, Rep. Bob Good, R-Va., narrowly lost re-election in June and is facing long odds in a recount held Thursday.HEAD HERE FOR THE LATEST FOX NEWS REPORTING ON THE 2024 ELECTIONSGood had been facing Republican challenger John McGuire, who was backed by House GOP national security hawks like House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers, R-Ala., and Reps. Jen Kiggans, R-Va.; and Ryan Zinke, R-Mont., among others.Johnston had narrowly outraised Ogles, according to financial disclosures. Her receipts through July 12 show her raising nearly $785,000 in individual contributions compared to Ogles’ total – just over $500,000.She also tried to tie him to Good and seven other Republicans’ successful effort to oust ex-Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., last October – though Ogles was not one of the eight who voted to end McCarthy’s leadership.THIS REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN FILES IMPEACHMENT ARTICLES AGAINST VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS, AGAIN”I think the incumbent has caused chaos. The ouster of McCarthy was an absolute abomination, really. Not only for the Republican Party, but really for Congress as a whole,” she told local outlet WPLN.Ogles had the backing of top national Republicans, however, including former President Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La.”Andy is working hard to Grow the Economy, Stop Inflation, Secure our Southern Border, Uphold the Rule of Law, and Defend our Second Amendment,” Trump wrote on Truth Social in May. “I was proud to help Andy flip a Democrat seat in 2022, and he has my Complete and Total Endorsement for re-election. He will not let you down!”BIDEN ENDS BID FOR SECOND TERM IN WHITE HOUSE AS HE DROPS OUT OF HIS 2024 REMATCH WITH TRUMPOgles won Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District in November 2022 after its boundaries were changed to include less of Nashville’s city center, which had previously made it a solidly blue seat.Under its current lines, however, the seat leans red – residents of the district voted for Trump over President Biden in 2020 by just over 10 points.Ogles defeated his Democratic challenger in 2022 by similar margins.

White House takes full credit for freeing Americans wrongfully detained in Russia: ‘Vintage Joe Biden’

White House takes full credit for freeing Americans wrongfully detained in Russia: 'Vintage Joe Biden'

National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan on Thursday gave President Biden full credit for the safe return of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and other Americans wrongfully detained in Russia. Sullivan took the podium at the daily White House press briefing after the Biden-Harris administration announced a massive swap of political prisoners between the United States and Russia. “Today’s exchange is a feat of diplomacy that, honestly, could only be achieved by a leader like Joe Biden and his direction,” Sullivan told reporters. Three American citizens — Gershkovich, former Marine Paul Whelan and Russian-American journalist Alsu Kurmasheva — were freed from Russian custody along with one American green-card holder, Vladimir Kara-Murza, and a dozen others. Sullivan shared that Biden had been “personally engaged” in diplomatic efforts to bring those Americans home, including multiple conversations with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and leaders of other countries who provided Russian prisoners for the exchange. BIDEN CALLS RUSSIA PRISONER SWAP DEAL THAT FREED WSJ’S GERSHKOVICH, WHELAN A ‘FEAT OF DIPLOMACY’The White House confirmed that Biden had a phone call with the prime minster of Slovenia on Sunday, July 21, to make final arrangements for the deal to fall in place. “There is no more singular or concrete demonstration that the alliances that the president has reinvigorated around the world matter to Americans, to the individual safety of Americans, and to the collective security of Americans. And we’re deeply grateful to our allies who supported us in these complex negotiations to achieve this outcome,” Sullivan said. He added that Biden was reaching out to the leaders of Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Norway and Turkey as he spoke to thank them for their part in putting the deal together. “This was vintage Joe Biden, rallying American allies to save American citizens and Russian freedom fighters, and doing it with intricate statecraft, pulling his whole team together to drive this across the finish line,” Sullivan said, noting the president maintained regular contact with the families of those detained as he worked for their release. LIVE UPDATES: PRISONER SWAP DEAL WITH RUSSIAGershkovich, 32, was arrested on March 29, 2023, while reporting on a trip to the Ural Mountains city of Yekaterinburg and was accused of espionage. The Biden administration declared him “wrongfully detained,” and The Wall Street Journal and U.S. government both emphatically denied the charges, calling them absurd on their face. Whelan languished in Russian custody for years. A well-placed source told Fox News that Turkish intelligence officials played a key role in mediating the prisoner swap.  “His goal has always been to put the families first, the families who are enduring an unimaginable ordeal,” Sullivan said of Biden. “From the president on down, we’ve stayed in regular and routine touch with them. I spent a lot of time with the families of Evan and Paul and Alsu, and most of the time, as you can imagine, those are tough conversations. But not today,” he said, becoming emotional. WSJ REPORTER EVAN GERSHKOVICH RELEASED BY RUSSIA IN PRISONER SWAP; PAUL WHELAN ALSO BEING FREED”Today was a very good day, and we’re going to build on it.” As Sullivan spoke, former President Trump weighed in on Truth Social, demanding to know the details of the prisoner exchange.Trump wrote: “How many people do we get versus them? Are we also paying them cash? Are they giving us cash (Please withdraw that question, because I’m sure the answer is NO)? Are we releasing murderers, killers, or thugs?””Just curious because we never make good deals, at anything, but especially hostage swaps,” the Republican nominee for president continued. “Our ‘negotiators’ are always an embarrassment to us! I got back many hostages, and gave the opposing Country NOTHING – and never any cash. To do so is bad precedent for the future. That’s the way it should be, or this situation will get worse and worse. They are extorting the United States of America. They’re calling the trade ‘complex’ – That’s so nobody can figure out how bad it is!”Sullivan told reporters that no money or sanctions relief was tied to the prisoner exchange. He also addressed concerns that the prisoner exchange could incentivize U.S. adversaries to wrongfully detain more Americans, arguing that freeing innocents is worth the price.”It is difficult to send back a convicted criminal to secure the release of an innocent American. And yet, sometimes the choice is between doing that and consigning that person basically to live out their days in prison in a hostile foreign country, or in the hands of a hostile power,” Sullivan said. “So from our perspective, we have assessed and analyzed that risk, and we have judged that the benefit of reuniting Americans and bringing people home, and also of vindicating the idea that the American president and the American government are going to do what it takes to protect and secure the release of innocent Americans, that that benefit outweighs the risk.”

Comic Michael Rapaport says Harris lost his vote over Israel: ‘Can’t support party that is for this bulls—‘

Liberal actor and comedian Michael Rapaport announced that he couldn’t vote for Vice President Harris in the November election and that the Democratic Party’s treatment of Israel had made him reconsider supporting former President Trump.”I’m now a one-issue voter: my money and Israel,” he told former ESPN broadcaster Sage Steele on the July 31 “The Sage Steele Podcast.” “I’m not voting for Kamala Harris. I can’t do it,” he continued. “I can’t support a party that is about all this bulls—.”Rapaport has increasingly called out his own political party for its stance on Israel. In May, he announced President Biden had also lost his support in the upcoming election, and he was considering voting for Trump. The actor went even further on Steele’s podcast.LIBERAL COMEDIAN MICHAEL RAPAPORT WITHDRAWS BIDEN SUPPORT IN PROFANITY-LACED RANT: ‘YOU F—’”I was wrong,” he said about his past criticism of Trump. “I was first in line talking s— about Trump.”While Rapaport said he still finds Trump’s rhetoric and behavior unpresidential, he admitted he was previously “ill-informed” about Trump’s record on Israel, Iran and the economy.Rapaport stopped short of saying he was going to vote for the GOP candidate in the election but said the option was still on the table.”At the end of the day, I want my interest rates down… and Israel needs to be protected more than ever right now,” he said about his two voting priorities.Rapaport also called out progressives who protested Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last month when he gave an address to Congress.COMEDIAN MICHAEL RAPAPORT STUNNED SHOW WAS ALLEGEDLY CANCELED OVER PRO-ISRAEL VIEWS: ‘P—ED OFF'”While there’s eight American hostages in Gaza, they didn’t show up, proudly. Bernie and the burnouts, the Squad, all these race-hustling con artists,” he blasted. “They weaponize it to a point that it’s dangerous.””I don’t care what you think of [Netanyahu],” he continued. “Israel is America’s biggest ally, while we’re under siege, not just from Hamas…but also proxies from Iran. This isn’t just about Israel.”Rapaport also slammed Hollywood and the sports world for not speaking out on October 7 and demanding the hostages be brought home calling the silence “embarrassing.””We speak out about everything. It could be climate change, it could be women’s rights, it could be abortion rights, LGBTQ —we say stuff about everything,” he said. “The silence has been madly deafening,” he continued.Back in May, Rapaport said that a comedy show of his, set to take place in Madison, Wisconsin, was canceled due to threats of violence in the wake of his support for Israel. “I was extremely p—ed off,” Rapaport stated at the time. “I didn’t imagine, didn’t think that it would get to a point where my beliefs and me standing up for what I know is right, regarding Jews, regarding Israel, regarding being Jewish and just the right thing, would get to a point where a club would cancel my show because they are afraid of an incident happening.”The venue, Comedy on State, reportedly explained to ticket holders in an email that the show was canceled due to safety concerns stemming from “escalating protests” and the “contentious nature of the dialogue” surrounding the conflict in Gaza.
