The Steelers (6-3) won their ninth straight game decided by eight points or less by following a formula that has become familiar. A little offense. Green Bay got the ball back with 59 seconds to go and drove deep into Pittsburgh territory, but Jordan Love’s last-gasp throw to the end zone was picked off by Damontae Kazee. Kazee returned it 30 yards before stepping out of bounds with time expired. Kazee was pushed by Green Bay lineman Zach Tom, leading to Kazee running over Steelers special teams coordinator Danny Smith. A brief melee ensued before cooler heads prevailed. Love completed 21 of 40 for 289 yards and two touchdowns, but the Packers (3-6) were unable to back up last week’s victory over the Los Angeles Rams despite outgaining the Steelers 399-324. Then again, that doesn’t mean much when playing Pittsburgh. The Steelers have been outgained in every game this season, and it somehow hasn’t stopped them from staying in the thick of the playoff race as Thanksgiving approaches. Green Bay trailed by 10 early but took a 19-17 lead on Anders Carlson’s field goal late in the third quarter. RAMS’ STETSON BENNETT MAKES FIRST PUBLIC APPEARANCE IN MONTHS AT GEORGIA GAME Typically, that’s when the Steelers respond. Pittsburgh has made a penchant for rallying in tight games. Wearing the vintage block numbers from the franchise’s iconic “Super Steelers,” Pittsburgh managed to get in field goal range twice to reclaim the lead. The defense did the rest as the Steelers’ unorthodox approach of watching opponents lose games as much as Pittsburgh tries to win it continued. Two teams that have struggled to generate much of anything all season — particularly in the first half — spent the opening two quarters trading scores. The Steelers scored on each of their first three possessions, with Harris and Warren — who were introduced as co-starters before the game — racing into the end zone for touchdowns while Boswell added a 42-yard field goal that gave Pittsburgh a 17-7 advantage, just the second time all season the Steelers have led by double digits. It was fleeting. Love found space in a secondary missing injured All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Green Bay — which was averaging an NFL-worst 4.5 points in the first half, scored 13. Love threw two touchdown passes, including a pretty 35-yard strike to Jayden Reed that brought the Packers to within 17-13 at the break. Hearst, a media company that owns Esquire, Cosmopolitan and other major brands, reportedly told employees to be careful about “controversial” statements after a senior fashion editor commented on the Israel-Hamas war.  “On Monday, Hearst — whose magazine titles include Esquire, Cosmopolitan and Town & Country — sent staffers an email announcing the new restrictions, which were detailed in an internal document that employees were encouraged to sign,” according to The Washington Post.  “We should be careful to consider the impact that a controversial statement on a hot-button issue may have on Hearst’s reputation,” the policy reads, per documents obtained by The Post. WASHINGTON POST PULLED ANTI-HAMAS POLITICAL CARTOON AMID ‘DEEP CONCERNS’ FROM STAFFERS The report continued: “Although the rules don’t explicitly mention the war, they warn employees that social media posts that wouldn’t meet Hearst’s own editorial standards ‘should not be posted on social media, whether on a Hearst account or a personal one.'” The Post explained that “the policy also urges Hearst staffers to report co-workers’ social media rule-breaking or anything that could ‘impact the reputation or objectivity of Hearst Magazines’ to management, in what the union statement dubbed ‘a frighteningly authoritarian flourish.’” Lizz Schumer, a senior editor and union shop steward at Good Housekeeping, told the Post, “It feels like a drastic overreach on the part of our parent company.”  Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief Samira Nasr apologized after she landed in the news for an Instagram story where she claimed that the cutting of water and power to the Gaza Strip was “the most inhuman thing I’ve seen in my life.”  After backlash, Nasr apologized for what she described as “deeply insensitive and hurtful comments.”  WASHINGTON POST APOLOGIZES, REMOVES ANTI-HAMAS CARTOON AFTER CRITICS CALLED IT RACIST “I want to apologize to my friends, colleagues, and the entire Jewish community for my deeply insensitive and hurtful comments,” Nasr wrote on her Instagram account Thursday. Hearst executives have pledged to donate $300,000 to charitable groups in the region, per the New York Post.  “Samira is fighting for her job,” said one Hearst employee who spoke with The New York Post. “She’s eating crow,” the source also said. Hearst is one of many publications with newsrooms divided over the response to the Israel-Hamas war across the country. There was internal uproar at The Washington Post over a political cartoon that mocked the terrorist group Hamas, Fox News Digital confirmed.  In an email to staffers on Wednesday, the paper’s executive editor Sally Buzbee wrote, “Given the many deep concerns and conversations today in our newsroom, I wanted to ensure everyone saw the notes sent out tonight by The Post’s opinions editor, David Shipley, to Post readers and to his staff in opinions.” The Post cartoon titled “Human shields” depicted a Hamas spokesperson saying, “How dare Israel attack civilians,” while a frightened-looking woman and four small children remain bound with rope to his body. Buzbee forwarded the editor’s note penned by Shipley offering a somber message to readers expressing regret over the cartoon.  “As editor of the opinion section, I am responsible for what appears in its pages and on its screens. The section depends on my judgment,” Shipley began. “A cartoon published by Michael Ramirez on the war in Gaza, a cartoon whose publication I approved, was seen by many readers as racist. This was not my intent. I saw the drawing as a caricature of a specific individual, the Hamas spokesperson, who celebrated the attacks on unarmed civilians in Israel.” Hearst did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital. New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ office lashed out Sunday against any FBI employee who might have “improperly leaked details” of a federal corruption probe implicating Hizzoner.  This comes in response to the New York Times’ reporting that the federal authorities were probing Adams for possibly improperly pressuring New York Fire Department officials into clearing the opening of a Manhattan sky-rise to house the Turkish consulate despite safety concerns about the 35-story building. Reacting to the report in a statement provided to Fox News Digital, City Hall Chief Counsel Lisa Zornberg said, “The mayor and our team are continuing to work with investigators and cooperate. We hope that investigators will continue to cooperate with us and reprimand any federal officer who has improperly leaked details about this investigation as such conduct could prejudice the public and undermines the integrity of our law enforcement process.” According to the Times, Adams’ unusual intervention came in the summer of 2021 after he won the Democratic mayoral primary but before the November general election. He was serving his second term as Brooklyn borough president at the time, and that role’s jurisdiction does not include Manhattan. The FBI reportedly has been questioning FDNY officials since last spring. FBI PROBES ERIC ADAMS’ FOR PRESSURING NYC OFFICIALS INTO OPENING TURKEY’S CONSULATE IN MANHATTAN: REPORT So far, federal law enforcement and prosecutors have not publicly disclosed the subject of the wide-ranging corruption probe, but an FBI search warrant for the Brooklyn home of Adams’ top campaign fundraiser, Brianna Suggs, obtained by the Times reportedly revealed the federal investigation has centered in part around whether Adams’ campaign conspired with the Turkish government, including its consulate general in New York, to illegally funnel foreign money into its coffers.  On Friday, Adams’ attorney, Boyd Johnson, revealed in a statement that FBI agents quietly seized phones and an iPad from the mayor earlier in the week as part of an investigation into political fundraising during his 2021 campaign. James Comer’s subpoenas for Hunter and James Biden were notching the probe to a “very aggressive level.” “I think this is the next phase. The subpoenas that James Comer signed last week and the requests for various associates and family members of the Bidens to come in for transcribed interviews is really notching it up to a very aggressive level. A stunning, internally flawless, vivid blue 17.61 carat diamond aptly titled “Bleu Royal” was sold at auction last week for over $44 million to an anonymous purchaser. The jewel, set between two colorless diamonds of significant size, sold at Christie’s “Magnificent Jewels” event in Geneva on Nov. 7 for a whopping $44,009,645. Christie’s Geneva Luxury Week closed the books with $140M in sales overall and the Magnificent Jewels auction achieved over $77 million itself with bidders spanning across 37 countries. “First of all, colored diamonds account for around 10% of all diamonds, out of which blue diamonds might account for 10%,” Max Fawcett, head of jewels at Christie’s told Fox News Digital. “So, the rarity is a given.” NEW YORK AUCTIONEER SHARED 3 TOP TIPS FOR GAINING CONFIDENCE – AND KEEPING IT The bidding took a fleeting seven minutes and the ring was celebrated as the “most expensive jewel sold at auction in 2023” on Christie’s website. “The diamond was in a private collection for 40 years and came to the market this November,” Fawcett said. “For the first time, the public was able to see and admire this extraordinary stone.” He added that the stone was unseen to buyers, “which enhanced its desirability to a global audience of jewels appreciators and collectors.” The following day, the stone entered another private collection. Christie’s has been the auction house for many private and well-known jewelry collections for present and preceding decades. The No. 5 Washington Huskies remained undefeated on Saturday with a 35-28 win over No. 13 Utah. But it could’ve been a disaster if the team from the Pacific Northwest didn’t recover after a head-scratching play. Huskies linebacker Alphonzo Tuputala picked off Utes quarterback Bryson Barnes in the third quarter – a crucial play with Washington already leading 33-28. Tuputala thought he had returned the interception 76 yards for a touchdown and was seen celebrating as he made his way into the end zone. Texas A&M reportedly plans to fire head coach Jimbo Fisher after another year of missing out on the College Football Playoff and finishing well below expectations. The Aggies moved to 6-4 overall on the season and 4-3 against SEC opponents with a 51-10 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday. Multiple reports indicated on Sunday that school officials were planning to meet with Fisher to tell him their decision. A “devil-like figure” featured in a painting by a renowned artist that’s more than 230 years old has been rediscovered after a recent restoration. The discovery came as a result of conservation work done by the National Trust on a painting of a Shakespearean scene by 18th Century artist Joshua Reynolds, who died in 1792. Referred to by the Trust as a “fiend,” an evil spirit or demon, the painted figure proved to be controversial at the time. The figure, covered by layers of paint and varnish, was included in Reynolds’ painting based on a Shakespearean death scene, which was titled “The Death of Cardinal Beaufort.” Specifically, the painting shows a scene from Shakespeare’s “Henry VI, Part 2” with the king witnessing the death of Cardinal Beaufort. 300-YEAR-OLD PAINTING STOLEN BY US SOLDIER DURING WWII RETURNED TO GERMAN MUSEUM 80 YEARS LATER The figure, which included fangs and a sinister expression, was painted at the head of the bed, just above the dying Beaufort’s head. “It didn’t fit in with some of the artistic rules of the times to have a poetic figure of speech represented so literally in this monstrous figure,” said John Chu, the Trust’s senior national curator for pictures and sculpture.  “While it was considered acceptable in literature to introduce the idea of a demon as something in the mind of a person, to include it visually in a painting gave it too physical a form. There were even people who argued that it should have been painted out, although records of conversations with the artist show he resisted such attempts to alter the work.” The painting by Reynolds, first revealed at the Shakespeare Gallery in 1789, is one of four that the National Trust has conserved to mark the 300th anniversary of the artist’s birth. The artwork by Reynolds was created at the end of his career as a commercial commission for the Shakespeare Gallery in London’s Pall Mall, which paid 500 guineas for the painting, according to the Trust. Engraver Caroline Watson produced the plates for prints of the Reynolds painting, the first copies showing the fiend, although a second print run in 1792, after the artist’s death, showed an attempt to remove it from the printing plate,” the Trust noted. “It perhaps isn’t a surprise that it had receded so far into the shadows of the picture. It appears it was misunderstood by early conservators,” Chu said of the figure’s disappearance. “Some decades after the painting was done, that area seems to have deteriorated into small islands of paint and become less clear due to the constituent parts of the paint. Degradation of successive varnish layers over the years made it even less visible.” After being examined by painting experts at the National Trust, it became clear that the fiend in the artwork had been painted over by several people and included six layers of varnish. “Reynolds is always difficult for conservators because of the experimental way he worked, often introducing unusual materials in his paint medium, striving for the effects he wanted to achieve,” said Becca Hellen, the Trust’s senior national conservator for paintings.  “The area with the fiend was especially difficult. Because it is in the shadows, it was painted with earth browns and dark colors which would always dry more slowly, causing shrinkage effects. … With the layers added by early restorers, it had become a mess of misinterpretation and multiple layers of paints. “This is a large painting, and we wanted to ensure that it still represented what Reynolds originally painted, which included allowing the fiend to be uncovered through removing all the non-original darkened varnishes and ensuring it still correctly showed its form and perspective with the work we did.” The painting is now back on display at Petworth House in West Sussex after treatment.

With the holidays up ahead, most people will have an excess of food in the house left over after Thanksgiving and beyond.  Plus, holiday time or not, cooking large meals can be a way to stretch your budget — and then take a break from cooking and enjoy the leftovers for a few days. So how exactly should you store all this food — and how long can you safely eat leftovers?  AFFORDABLE, NO-FUSS WEEKNIGHT MEAL: STUFFED PEPPERS ARE ‘HEARTY, HEALTHY AND FAMILY-FRIENDLY’  Two food experts shared some smart leftover food safety guidelines. Here’s what you need to know to stay safe — and to waste as little food as possible.  If you’re creating a meal with meat or seafood, be sure to refrigerate leftovers in a timely fashion to preserve the meal.  The leftovers should be fine for a few days.  “Our general rule is that all cooked food is safe in a refrigerator kept at 40F for up to four days,” said Jesus Garcia, public affairs specialist with the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, in Washington, D.C. FROM SALMON TO SHARK, HERE ARE THE BEST AND WORST FISH FOR YOUR HEALTH “By the fourth day, you should consume, freeze it or discard it,” he said. All perishable items, including raw and cooked meat and poultry, should be refrigerated within two hours of coming out of the refrigerator or being cooked, said Garcia. “After two hours in the ‘danger zone,’ which is temperatures between 40F and 140F, bacteria can multiply to dangerous levels and cause the food to become unsafe,” Garcia told Fox News Digital.  It’s important to break down large meals like turkey or roast beef into smaller portions and store them in shallow containers so that items may cool faster, said Garcia. Other smart strategies are to cover leftovers, wrap them in airtight packaging or seal them in storage containers, he said.  BEST FOODS TO EAT FOR RADIANT, AGELESS SKIN AND WHAT TO AVOID, ACCORDING TO NUTRITIONISTS “These practices help keep bacteria out, retain moisture and prevent leftovers from picking up odors from other food in the refrigerator. Immediately refrigerate or freeze the wrapped leftovers for rapid cooling,” Garcia said. Vanessa Imus, MS, RDN of Integrated Nutrition for Weight Loss (inutritioncenter.com) in Bothell, Washington, told Fox News Digital that leftovers should always be put away into a storage container with a well-fitting lid or covered sufficiently in airtight packaging to keep bacteria out.  She also said it’s very important to cool food rapidly.  “This means that if you have a big pot of soup or a large cut of meat, you’ll need to break it down into smaller portions before placing it in the refrigerator,” Imus said. As anyone can imagine, a whole turkey placed in the fridge will take longer to cool than sliced meats put away in several small containers, she said. You should not rely entirely on sight or smell to determine if leftovers are edible and safe, Imus pointed out. SPINACH VS. KALE: WHICH IS ‘BETTER’ FOR YOU? NUTRITIONISTS SETTLE THE GREAT DEBATE “Although I’ve seen friends do the ‘sniff test,’ that is not an accurate way to measure the safety of your leftovers. Your food may look perfectly fine, but that doesn’t mean it is perfectly fine,” she said. Instead, she agreed with Garcia to stick to the four-day rule.  “If you didn’t label your food and you can’t remember when you originally prepared it, then it’s time to throw it out,” Imus said.  “You would much rather be safe than sorry as the risk of food poisoning goes up after four days in the refrigerator.”  Always make sure to reheat leftovers to 165 degrees, said Imus.  “Yep, that means you’ll need a thermometer to check. Since microwaves can cause some cold pockets, be sure to stir and turn food as you reheat it,” she added. “The problem that people run into is that they’re busy hosting and entertaining and not paying attention to how long food is sitting out,” Imus told Fox News Digital. THESE ARE THE WORST COOKING OILS FOR YOUR HEALTH, EXPERTS SAY “Plus the guests might be coming and going or lingering over the food table throughout the evening.”  She warned that this usually leads to food sitting out far beyond the recommended two-hour time limit.  “Be sure to check the time when you set the food out and get it put away into the fridge within two hours. Better yet, set a timer to remind yourself,” added Imus. Garcia with the USDA said Thanksgiving leftovers will sustain you from Black Friday to Cyber Monday.  “Reheating in an oven or a microwave will take longer for dense foods such as turkey or roast beef than for less dense foods like breads and small vegetables,” he said. Police in Ocoee, Florida, are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to who is responsible for shooting and killing a veteran.  Gregory Reed, 60, of Apopka was driving his vehicle through a BP convenience store parking lot off Clarke and Silver Star roads around 8:20 p.m. Nov. 9 before he was shot and killed, police said. A 70-year-old car aficionado is raking in millions on YouTube, joining the “granfluencers” that are ditching retirement and taking off on social media.  “Once I got going on YouTube in one month, I would make more money than we saved in 40 years,” YouTube star Scotty Kilmer told Fox News. “It makes a big difference. Seniors 65 and older using social media increased from 11% to 41% between 2010 and 2021, according to the Pew Research Center, and some, like Kilmer, started using the apps to profit and pursue their interests.  “Most people hate their jobs,” Kilmer said. “I’m having fun. I’m meeting a lot of people. I’m helping a lot of people out. A 67-year-old retired engineer, Lynn Davis, for example, started posting cooking videos on YouTube in 2020. He attributes his success to telling people the truth through his skills and humor. “If somebody has got some kind of a skill and they’re good at it and they want to give it a try, it costs nothing to make YouTube videos,” Kilmer said. “If you have knowledge that other people want and you could share it with people, that’s basically what the internet started out for.”

There are a few intriguing NFL matchups in Week 10 of the season this weekend.  The league returns to Germany for a matchup between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts. Myles Garrett is again the main cog of the defensive line. He has 9½ sacks and 25 tackles through eight games. Last week, Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud gave NFL fans a look at what the future looks like. He set a record with 470 passing yards in a single game and had five touchdown passes. He became the sixth player in NFL history to throw for at least 450 yards, five touchdown passes and no interceptions in a game. Thanksgiving is coming up quickly and plenty of Americans are already prepping for the feast-filled holiday.  With extra visitors coming by and sometimes last-minute chaos at home, pets can tend to be overlooked during holiday time.  Dr. Lindsay Butzer, a veterinarian from Boca Raton, Florida, shared with Fox News Digital her top tips for keeping pets safe this Thanksgiving holiday. KEEPING PETS SAFE IN THE COLD: 5 CRUCIAL TIPS TO PROTECT YOUR FURRY FRIEND THIS WINTER The veterinarian said her top recommendation for pet owners is to not overfeed their animals during the holiday. Read on for why — and for other insights.  Butzer said feeding your pets some table food on Thanksgiving can be OK — but that owners should proceed with caution.  “Overindulging in food is hard for us, and even our pets, to digest,” she said. “Food bloat is a real condition for pets that makes them uncomfortable and sick.” PET INSURANCE: WHAT IT IS, HOW IT WORKS, DIFFERENT TYPES, IF IT’S WORTH GETTING FOR YOUR FURRY FRIEND She said pets are safe to eat turkey with no seasoned skin and minimal fat, as well as plain steamed green beans, rice, plain potatoes, boiled carrots and other vegetables. But “have your pets stay away from eating turkey skin, buttery vegetables, gravy, bones and desserts,” she said.  The Clint Moore Animal Hospital veterinarian has over 165,000 TikTok followers and is known for sharing pet tips and tricks for animal owners.  Butzer said that veterinarians often can tell when a pet has been fed human food — and too much of it — after the holidays.
