Roughly 250 small animals that were transferred from California to Arizona may have ended up being fed to reptiles, according to two humane societies. Tucson TV station KVOA investigated the animals’ whereabouts in September, a month after 300 small animals were transferred from the overcrowded San Diego Humane Society to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona in Tucson. The Arizona Republic reported that the transfer was a collaboration between the two groups and that the animals then went to a man who ran a reptile breeding company that also sold both live and frozen animals for reptile feed. Sam Haskell IV, the 35-year-old Hollywood “#richkid” whose wife and in-laws are missing, is due in court Monday to face a judge after police found a woman’s headless torso in a dumpster near his house last week.  Over the weekend, as Haskell languished in a cell with Los Angeles’ courts closed for Veterans Day, posts from his bizarre TikTok account garnered new scrutiny as commenters picked apart his ramblings about designer fashion, celebrities and Asian cuisine. Police arrested Haskell at a mall in Canoga Park on Thursday, hours after responding to a bank parking lot in Encino, where a homeless man made the grisly find while searching through trash. Surveillance videos taken the prior afternoon show a thin man pulling up in a white SUV and struggling to toss something into the bin in a crowded parking lot in broad daylight. LOS ANGELES SURVEILLANCE VIDEO CAPTURES MAN DROPPING LARGE OBJECT IN DUMPSTER WHERE HEADLESS BODY FOUND Under the pseudonyms Tragic Streetz and Samuel Basshinger, he has posted a series of bizarre selfie videos on TikTok and highly produced short clips to Facebook. In one, while in the driver’s seat of a cluttered SUV, he says, “Like, my resume says unhappy, bitter, resentful, and like really good at ordering off the menu.” Another showed him filming his reflection in a window, appearing to pose with music playing. “What in the Luka Magnotta is this?” wrote one commenter, a reference to the infamous killer whose capture was chronicled on Netflix’s docuseries “Don’t F— with Cats.” A tipster told Fox News Digital Friday that people found Haskell’s behavior in the parking lot suspicious and that a passerby took pictures of the license plate and sent the number to police. Police said they could not immediately identify the remains – but they believed they belong to Mei Haskell, the suspect’s 37-year-old wife who has been missing for days. Her parents, Goashan Li, 72, and Yanxiang Wang, 64, lived with the couple and are also unaccounted for. Authorities said the Haskells’ three young children have been removed from their Tarzana home – now a crime scene – as the investigation continues.  Prosecutors had 48 hours after Haskell’s arrest to bring him before a judge. However, Los Angeles courts observed Veterans Day on Friday, which paused the clock for the entire three-day weekend. Haskell’s famous dad was a longtime A-list talent agent who represented stars like Dolly Parton and George Clooney before becoming an Emmy-winning producer. A senior Jewish New York Democrat lawmaker called on the leaders of the “Ceasefire Now camp” to publicly “urge” people to stop tearing down posters of Israeli hostages. Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., posted on X Monday calling for the prominent “Ceasefire Now” members to tell people to stop tearing down the posters of Israelis kidnapped by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. Nadler wrote the posters being torn down is causing “hostilities” and “altercations” and that releasing the hostages is the fastest way toward a ceasefire. Some of the people caught tearing down the posters have lost jobs and been publicly shamed, while others seemed to embrace being caught in the act of destroying them. Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt blasted the “inhumane” act of tearing down the posters. “It is hard for me to think of something more inhumane than tearing down posters of babies who are kidnaped by a terror organization,” Greenblatt told Fox News Digital. “These people, I would encourage them to move to Gaza, if you feel so strongly. I would love to see these people relocate to Gaza and see how well they do,” Greenblatt continued. “I mean it — all these activists, all these people parading around with their sanctimony, you know, moralizing against the vast majority of us, send them to Gaza to do their protesting. I hope it goes well for them.” Some have been irked at The New York Times’ recent coverage of the hostage posters being torn down. Rep. Abigail Spanberger, a Democrat representing what’s been a competitive U.S. House seat in Virginia, announced Monday that she’s running for governor of the state.  The third-term congresswoman will not seek re-election in 2024 for the House seat she held by 4.66 percentage points in 2022. She defeated Republican Dave Brat in 2018. Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who assumed office at the start of 2022, is barred by the state constitution from running for a second consecutive term in 2025.  “The greatest honor of my life has been to represent Virginians in the U.S. House. Today, I am proud to announce that I will be working hard to gain the support and trust of all Virginians to continue this service as the next Governor of Virginia,” Spanberger said in a statement.  “Virginia is where I grew up, where I am raising my own family, and where I intend to build a stronger future for the next generation of Virginians,” she continued. “As a former CIA case officer, former federal law enforcement officer, and current Member of Congress, I have always believed in the value of public service. The third of four inmates who escaped from a dilapidated jail in Georgia nearly a month ago has been captured, authorities said Sunday. Johnifer Dernard Barnwell, 37, was found inside a home in the 3000 block of Alpine Drive in Augusta just after 8 a.m., the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies and FBI agents also found large amounts of drugs inside the home during Barnwell’s capture, according to law enforcement. While FBI Atlanta says they have yet to test the substances, officials suspect them of being meth, fentanyl, heroine, marijuana and cocaine, FOX5 Atlanta reported. 40 INMATES DETAINED AFTER RIOT AT SOUTH CAROLINA DETENTION CENTER: SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT Barnwell was one of four inmates who broke out of the Bibb County Detention Center in Macon during the early morning hours of Oct. 16. The inmates are believed to have climbed out through a damaged day room window and cut through a fence before driving off in a waiting blue Dodge Challenger. The three other inmates were identified as 52-year-old Joey Fournier, 29-year-old Chavis Stokes, 24-year-old Marc K. Anderson. Stokes was captured at a home in Montezuma on Oct. 26, while Anderson was captured at the Huntley Apartments in Atlanta on Nov. 3. Fournier remains on the loose. He is described as a White male with gray hair, and blue eyes, standing 5 feet and 9 inches tall, and weighing 140 pounds. He was incarcerated for murder. VIRGINIA STATE UNIVERSITY POLICE OFFICER INJURED IN SHOOTING, SUSPECT AT LARGE Sheriff David Davis told reporters last month that the inmates broke out of the oldest section of the jail, which he said has many areas that are in disrepair. Davis also said the escape happened when fewer than 10 employees were working at the jail, which was holding about 800 inmates at the time. Davis previously warned that the inmates, three of whom have been in jail before, should all be considered dangerous. Authorities asked anyone with information about the whereabouts of Fournier to contact the FBI’s tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the United States Marshals Service at 1-877-WANTED2.

Conor McGregor has been seen all around the world, throwing up his fist at those taking pictures and enjoying working on his many business ventures. But July 10 marked two years since McGregor last fought in the octagon, where he suffered a broken tibia during his fight against Dustin Poirier that led to extensive rehab and thoughts from experts and fans alike about whether the “Notorious” McGregor would be back fighting again. McGregor’s longtime agent, Audie Attar, said the “gruesome injury” was one that definitely had him questioning whether he’d be able to even run around with his kids again, let alone get back to fighting. He wants to compete. I think that’s key,” Attar told Fox News Digital. “He’s excited to get back in there.” “Being able to not only get past that hurdle [of injury] and start to really ramp up training, and then has his eyes set on his return into the octagon in 2024, is exciting. I would expect him to fight – don’t have a set date yet, but sometime, let’s call it April or Q1, Q2 phase as well.” UFC STAR MADE MORE IN 24 HOURS ON ONLYFANS THAN SHE DID ‘IN HER ENTIRE FIGHTING CAREER’ Attar mentioned a possible fight against Michael Chandler, who McGregor coached against in “The Ultimate Fighter” earlier this year. UFC 300 in April, the month that Attar mentioned, would be the best bet for McGregor to return. But as Attar mentioned, McGregor doesn’t have to come back if he chooses. Attar said he is focused on his business, which includes his Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey. McGregor’s even entering a new industry as he’s set to make his acting debut in the re-imagining of the 1980s hit “Road House.” McGregor’s foundation as a fighter, though, is something Attar knows best.  “What I’m always amazed by with him is he resets,” Attar explained. “The desire for fighting is there, just to go out and be the best version of himself. It’s basically him proving himself right and learning from all his experiences, all the great accomplishments, the [records], but all the challenges as well.” “That, to me, is always inspiring to see that he has that fire within. Not just to go make as much money as possible as an entrepreneur because he can just stay on that path and be better than most people and be in that top 1%, if you will. He’s looking to continue to achieve and prove himself right as it relates to his athletic accomplishments as well. That’s always inspiring to me.” Experts and fans thinking that retirement might be in the works for McGregor looked at his age as well as the injury. At 35 years old, athletes are usually on a downward trend. At the end of the day, it’s about the work you put in, the preparation. I think the fight IQ is at an all-time high at this stage, again, because they’ve been through everything most fighters dream of. And that gives them the ability to take all that data, if you will, and apply that into their preparation and practice and hopefully continue to evolve as an athlete as well. It yields the performance and result they want come fight night.” So, that’s where McGregor’s head is at: Getting back in the octagon next year to showcase his skill, swagger and pure entertainment that he’s become so famous for. And depending on how that fight goes, no matter the opponent, Attar doesn’t believe this is a one-and-done scenario. “Getting back into the octagon is step one, going in and handling business there,” he said. “Then, not looking past that, but then, obviously, when you get past that, look at your options and see what’s next.”

You can put lipstick on a pig, but… If it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck… What’s in a name? That which we would call a rose… Don’t spit on cupcakes and call it frosting… House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., faces his first true test this week. The newly elected House speaker is offering something he’s characterized in recent weeks as a “laddered CR.” Yeah, not a lot of people in Washington knew what that was either. Johnson engineered a plan to fund the entire government on a temporary basis through Jan. 19, which is when Congress is expected to pass one batch of spending bills to avert a shutdown. The remainders would have until Feb. 2. The “laddered” concept stems from dealing with one “rung” of bills by one date and the next “rung” of bills later on. Laddered. Get it? WHEN IT COMES TO THE NEXT SHUTDOWN FIGHT IN CONGRESS, SILENCE IS GOLDEN Call it what you will, but what Johnson proposed is a “CR” – short for “Continuing Resolution.” An interim spending bill which simply renews all funding at current levels to avoid a government shutdown early Saturday morning. Ironically, this is exactly the same legislative idea that got former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., canned earlier this fall. So, what gives? It’s rebranding. Companies change their names all the time. Firms wrap their products up in shinier, newer packages. It doesn’t affect the stuff inside. The term “CR” became toxified inside some quarters of the House Republican Conference. So, you have to alter the marketing. Moreover, Johnson reiterates that he is committed to advancing the 12 annual appropriations bills which fund the government one by one as Republicans promised. Except for a couple of things. A CR is still a CR. There was never enough time from when Johnson clasped the gavel to advance all the spending bills through the House and merge them with the Senate to avoid a shutdown, so this was the only way out of this cul-de-sac for Johnson. But moreover, Johnson is running into the same problems which dogged his predecessor. Republicans insist on passing their own partisan spending bills individually, but they can’t. Republicans had to yank a Transportation/Housing spending bill off the floor last week and did the same with a Treasury/White House spending bill on Thursday. And for the record, the latter bill met its demise after the House rejected an amendment to reduce the pay of White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre to $1 a year. That’s right. $1. What is this? The Price is Right? Jean-Pierre’s annual take-home pay is $188,000. Point being, Republicans burned crucial time making amendments like those pertaining to Jean-Pierre in order for debate and a vote when they couldn’t even get the overall legislation to pass. These appropriations bills are not exactly ready for the Showcase Showdown. THE SPEAKER’S LOBBY: THE HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE TO A POSSIBLE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN It’s far from clear whether the House can even pass Johnson’s proposal. And, because of GOP skepticism, Johnson may need to rely on Democrats to avert a government shutdown. Sound familiar? If Republicans give Johnson a pass and approve his “laddered” CR – especially with Democratic assistance – we will have confirmed something significant about the Speaker’s debacle which consumed most of October and prompted McCarthy’s ouster: the motion to vacate the chair was never about spending bills or legislation. It was a personal vendetta against McCarthy. But back to the task at hand: government funding expires at 11:59 p.m. ET Friday. There is not much turning radius to move a bill of any sort through the House and through the Senate. Either way, it doesn’t appear that Johnson faces some of the same opprobrium which was leveled at his predecessor, but Johnson doesn’t appear to have a Midas Touch yet, either. Lawmakers from both sides long suggested that Johnson would enjoy a “honeymoon” after finally securing the gavel following a brutal three weeks incinerating one speaker and three speaker nominees. “There’s a honeymoon period here. I’m not sure how long that lasts. Maybe 30 days,” opined Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., late last Thursday. HOUSE ENDS WEEK BEHIND SCHEDULE WITH DAYS UNTIL POSSIBLE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN But minutes later, House Republican leaders pulled the Treasury/White House bill from the floor because it lacked the votes to pass. “With what’s going on over on the floor today, I think that indicates that the honeymoon might be shorter than we thought. And every time the CR expires, the speaker’s putting his head in the lion’s mouth,” said Massie. Johnson may not be able to control the CR and he also can’t control privileged resolutions offered by Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., who filed a special resolution late last week to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.  Since the resolution is “privileged,” it goes to the front of the legislative line. The House will likely consider Greene’s gambit on Tuesday. It’s possible that the GOP-led House could impeach Mayorkas with no hearings, no depositions and no markup of a resolution. This would be after Republicans brayed for months about “the regular order.” Greene said it was too late for all of that. “No more strongly worded letters. No more committee hearings. No more clips on the press. We have to do something about it,” she said. HOUSE MAY VOTE ON IMPEACHING MAYORKAS WITHOUT A MOTION TO TABLE: SOURCE To be frank, many Republicans would rather talk about impeaching Mayorkas instead of actually impeaching Mayorkas, especially with no committee hearings or markups.  The House just voted to table (or kill) a resolution to expel Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., because the Ethics Committee hadn’t completed a report on his conduct. Moreover, Johnson said on Fox he was concerned about “due process,” but that’s cast to the wind with Greene’s measure to impeach Mayorkas. A senior House leadership source told Fox to expect a straight up or down vote on the Mayorkas resolution. In other words, no motion to table. Of course, Democrats could move to table, but it’s unclear if they would do that. Democrats don’t want Mayorkas impeached, but they may feel it’s a victory either way. One of two things will happen: The House votes to impeach Mayorkas. If so, he becomes only the second cabinet officer ever impeached. The last was Secretary of War William Belknap in 1876, but Democrats know that the Senate would never hold a full trial on Mayorkas. It must start the process. But the Senate can vote to dispense with the articles. Democrats will view impeachment as a victory because Republicans wasted their time – impeaching Mayorkas – as the government runs out of money. They’ll also point to who authored the articles of impeachment: Greene. The other scenario is if the House fails to impeach Mayorkas. It’s far from clear that the House has the votes to do so. Democrats will then point to Republicans chattering ad nauseam about impeaching Mayorkas and then stumbling.  All talk and no action, and some Republicans have had it. “I’m not going to be thinking a lot about every privileged resolution that Majorie (Taylor) Greene files because we’ve got real work to do,” said freshman Rep. John Duarte, R-Calif., who represents a battleground district and won by 564 votes in 2022. “I’m not interested in these peripheral impeachments.” Regardless, Democrats will point to election results last week in Kentucky, Virginia and Ohio and suggest that Republicans are again focused on the wrong things. Not everyone in the nation knows who Mike Johnson is yet, but if the government shuts down on Saturday, you can bet everyone will learn who he is. So, you can dress things up by applying lipstick, mascara and anything else on a CR… but it’s still a CR. That’s something Republicans abhor, but Johnson has no choice when his side still can’t even pass their own spending bills. There is one school of thought on Capitol Hill that maybe a shutdown is inevitable. Congress narrowly averted a shutdown once McCarthy put a straight, six-week CR on the floor at the last minute, so maybe McCarthy simply delayed a shutdown. McCarthy paid the price for preventing that earlier in the fall. Johnson won’t pay an immediate price regardless of how things go. He might not get a laddered CR, but this is the challenge Johnson faces for climbing the leadership ladder.

The latest chapter of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has aroused passions around the country, and now it’s cropping up in newsrooms with staffers and activists putting leftward pressure on outlets to cover the Jewish state far more critically. Israel declared war on Hamas after the terror group invaded southern Israel on Oct. 7, killing over 1,200 people in Israeli border towns, mostly civilians. Hamas also took more than 200 hostages, and Israel has pounded Gaza in the weeks since, leading to accusations in an open letter signed by hundreds of former and current journalists that Israel is engaged in “genocide” and “ethnic cleansing.” “We are renewing the call for journalists to tell the full truth without fear or favor,” the letter states. “To use precise terms that are well-defined by international human rights organizations, including ‘apartheid,’ ‘ethnic cleansing’ and ‘genocide.’ To recognize that contorting our words to hide evidence of war crimes or Israel’s oppression of Palestinians is journalistic malpractice and an abdication of moral clarity.” The letter, which said Israel was guilty of “atrocities,” also noted the dozens of journalists who have been killed in the war. It made just one mention of Hamas and complained that the war was improperly contextualized, despite being initiated by Hamas’ devastating terrorist attack. HAMAS TELLS NY TIMES IT HOPES WAR WITH ISRAEL IS ‘PERMANENT,’ PAPER SAYS HAMAS NOT INTERESTED IN GOVERNING “Since the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas, in which more than 1,200 Israelis, including four journalists, were killed and some 240 others captured, these issues have compounded,” the letter states. “News coverage has positioned the attack as the starting point of the conflict without offering necessary historical context — that Gaza is a de facto prison of refugees from historic Palestine, that Israel’s occupation is illegal under international law, and that Palestinians are bombarded and massacred regularly by the Israeli government.” “My hope for this letter is to push back on the culture of fear around this issue, and to make decision-makers and reporters and editors think twice about the language that they use,” Abdallah Fayyad, a former editorial board member at the Boston Globe, told the Washington Post. Other signers from mainstream and left-leaning outlets represented in the letter include the Los Angeles Times, New Yorker, New York magazine, Washington Post, MSNBC, Bloomberg, Daily Beast, Chicago Sun-Times, HuffPost, and The Guardian. On Nov. 10, the letter was updated to remove a signer with the Associated Press, although it was unclear who it was. The AP suspended another reporter, Issam Adwan, from covering the war in Gaza last month after a media watchdog exposed his fervently anti-Israel social media postings. The AP didn’t respond to a request for comment. But it’s not just the demand for harsher coverage of Israel, which has been commonplace over the years when the ongoing conflict has made international news. Even a political cartoon noting the well-documented use of human shields by Hamas raised ire last week, inside the newsroom of the Washington Post. ISRAELI OFFICIAL SAYS MEDIA REPORTS EMPOWERING TERRORISTS: ‘IT’S WHAT TERROR USES’ The Post pulled a cartoon by Pulitzer Prize-winner Michael Ramirez featuring a Hamas spokesman decrying Israel targeting civilians, while a frightened-looking woman and four small children were bound with rope to his body. Opinion editor David Shipley wrote a mea culpa about the decision, saying some readers found it “racist,” and a separate email to staff by executive editor Sally Buzbee noted the “deep concerns” in the newsroom about it. Ramirez told Fox News Digital the incident was “unfortunate” but praised his employer, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, for standing behind him and the cartoon. The Post has an agreement where his cartoon appears in both outlets simultaneously twice a week, and Ramirez is reconsidering the deal after the Post’s action. “People are emotionally invested in their politics,” Ramirez said of the reaction to the cartoon. “So it’s always going to cause a reaction, this one moreso just because of the heated debate that’s going on with the issue.” One Post insider credited Shipley for limiting the fallout by acting quickly on the matter, although they acknowledged they didn’t expect the cartoon would cause a dust-up. “There was both external criticism and internal criticism. I think a number of people inside and outside were offended by the caricature, both of the man and the woman. I’m not sure, however, if the message itself was the problem,” they told Fox News Digital, adding, “I went right past that cartoon and didn’t think anything about it until I started hearing the rumbles about it.” POLITICAL CARTOONIST SPEAKS OUT AFTER WASHINGTON POST PULLS HIS WORK MOCKING HAMAS Ramirez supplied examples to Fox News Digital of other pictures he’s drawn that use similarly exaggerated features, in response to accusations that he was crudely drawing Arabs. The New York Times, no stranger to criticism over its coverage of the war, got a taste of pressure from the outside last week as well. A group of protesters entered the atrium of the Times building in Manhattan carrying a banner calling for a cease-fire. They also wrote “lies” across the door in paint, read names of Palestinians killed in Gaza aloud, scattered mock editions of the newspaper and accused the media of “complicity in laundering genocide.” The Times’ head of corporate security told staffers via email that the protests were “peaceful” and pointed out that no entrances were being blocked, according to the Associated Press. On the other hand, the Times has taken criticism from pro-Israel voices for some of its coverage, most notably when the newspaper admitted it relied “too heavily” on Hamas claims for its initial report on the Gaza hospital explosion last month. Policymakers around the world and in the United States are prioritizing policies to keep kids and teenagers safe on the internet and social media. This discussion extends to AI. President Joe Biden recently released a fact sheet outlining the contents of his pending executive order on “Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence.” The fact sheet, which outlines the content of the full order, directs multiple federal agencies on how they should approach AI’s impact within their areas of jurisdiction. It specifically mentions safety for minors within the AI and social media context: “To better protect Americans’ privacy, including from the risks posed by AI, the President calls on Congress to pass bipartisan data privacy legislation to protect all Americans, especially kids.” BIDEN FLOATS NEARLY $20M IN PRIZES FOR AI TOOLS THAT SECURE US COMPUTER CODE The president is correct that the protection of minors online should be a priority. But what’s left out of this fact sheet, executive order and most discussions about online safety for minors, is the role AI has and could have in making the internet a safer place for all users, “especially kids.”  The internet is a wild and creative place. Connecting half of humanity to each other has transformed history and brought about an abundance of entertainment, economic growth and educational opportunities for billions of people.  Simultaneously, connecting half of humanity brings downsides in the form of theft, exploitative material and harming others. The downsides can dominate the narrative. For example, in polling done by our organization, The Center for Growth and Opportunity, 52% of Americans believe social media does more harm than good, with 30% believing it does equal good and harm to children. According to a recent poll by Security.org, 98% of parents believe that social media platforms are dangerous to users under the age of 18.  Despite the many current non-AI resources and systems available to caring parents and caregivers, none of these are perfect and younger generations still occasionally get exposed to distressful content even if restrictions are in place on social media platforms. While it won’t solve every problem, AI systems could supplement these tools and help protect minors online, particularly on social media.  One way AI can help is to make social media services more transparent. Social media platforms show content to users that they believe the user would enjoy, but these recommendation systems are very complicated. Explainable AI is an emerging research field that is attempting to understand how recommendation systems work. Explainable AI can make it easier for parents to restrict inappropriate content on their child’s device. Similarly, AI can be a real-time educational tool for teens online.  Yubo, a social media app whose user base is only made up of Gen Zers, uses AI to inform its users what kind of behavior is safe. For example, Yubo’s safety features intervene in real-time whenever a child or teenager is about to share sensitive information on the app. And this is more essential than ever because new research indicates that Gen Z is more vulnerable than Baby Boomers to online scams. Although human content moderators need to review the most complicated content moderation issues, improvements in AI monitoring show promise.  Yik Yak, a university-centric social media platform, went out of business in 2017 because its anonymous accounts and limited moderation became a toxic environment for its users. Then, Yik Yak returned in 2021 with new community guidelines and a partnership with Spectrum Labs – an AI content moderation company. These programs have allowed the company to return and provide a much safer and pleasant environment for its younger users. Turning this setting on means a minor receives a notification asking them before showing a message, as well as alerting the parent that their child received a troubling message. All of these examples are early experiments on AI deployment in keeping minors safe online. If the past is any indication, we will continue to see improvements in these tools and new tools that haven’t been dreamed up yet. The internet has provided so many good things for society and will continue to do so, particularly as we all figure out how to preserve this innovative ecosystem and manage the risks. Early applications of AI and potential AI technology right around the corner could prove another effective tool to keep the most vulnerable populations safe online while allowing them to explore freely. Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce remains undefeated in his new role as his squad took down the New York Jets, 16-12, on Sunday night.  Pierce must love how this game turned out because it involved two key aspects he wanted from his new-look team: running the ball and playing tighter defense.  The Raiders were running the ball very well behind Pro Bowler Josh Jacobs, who finished the game with 116 yards on 27 carries, but a key play for New York came on one of those runs and briefly shifted the momentum in the Jets’ favor. Las Vegas was holding a four-point lead in the fourth quarter when the Jets’ defense knocked the ball out of Jacobs’ hands, allowing safety Ashtyn Davis to recover the ball on their own 29-yard line. Penalties took a few would-be touchdowns back for Gang Green, so head coach Robert Saleh desperately needed Wilson to orchestrate something here.  Despite putting together a nice drive that moved the Jets well into Raiders territory, Wilson made a big mistake.  Raiders linebacker Robert Spillane was watching Wilson’s eyes on second-and-8 when he tried to get a pass to Allen Lazard. Instead, Spillane jumped the route and took it back 25 yards with one minute and 22 seconds left in the game.  The Jets’ defense got another stop, giving Wilson another chance, and with five seconds left in the game, he was in the position to toss up a Hail Mary. It looked like a good one after avoiding Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby, but neither Garrett Wilson or Tyler Conklin, who both got a hand on the football, could haul it in as the Raiders sealed their fate. JETS’ ROBERT SALEH STAMPS OUT ‘CONSPIRACY THEORY’ ABOUT ZACH WILSON AFTER LOSS While Sunday night marked another win for Pierce, it was also another start and victory for rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell, who Pierce has trusted with the offense since he took over last week instead of Jimmy Garoppolo. O’Connell was 16-of-27 for 153 yards with one touchdown pass and one interception.  O’Connell’s only touchdown pass was actually the only touchdown of this game, ultimately becoming the game-winner. It came in the fourth quarter when a broken play turned into a fantastic catch by Raiders rookie tight end Michael Mayer, who leaped high and used all his 6-foot-6 frame to haul in a 7-yard touchdown over Jets safety Jordan Whitehead. O’Connell used veteran hideout Davante Adams a lot in the first half, where he caught six balls for 86 yards to lead the Raiders. Adams didn’t make another catch after that as Las Vegas focused more on the run game in the second half. DAVANTE ADAMS SAYS RAIDERS ARE NOT CELEBRATING JOSH MCDANIELS’ FIRING, ADMITS READINESS FOR SOME ‘CHANGE’ Zach Wilson was 23-of-38 for 263 yards with his big interception. The Jets’ fate could have been different if a touchdown from running back Breece Hall wasn’t nullified in the first half – tight end C.J. Uzomah was called for holding on Crosby and the Jets ended up kicking a field goal. Hall had just 28 yards on 13 carries, as the Raiders were able to halt the driving force of the Jets’ offense in recent weeks. Hall also had 47 yards on three catches. Garrett Wilson had another big day, catching nine passes on 14 targets for 93 yards as a game high. Conklin also finished with 70 yards on seven catches.  The Jets, now 4-5, will look ahead to facing the Buffalo Bills for the second time this season next Sunday, while the 5-5 Raiders will test their win streak on the road against the Miami Dolphins.

Fox News’ Joey Jones broke down some of the weapons reportedly found by the IDF in a classroom in northern Gaza.  The IDF said on X, formerly known as Twitter, Saturday that its troops found weapons, ammunition and explosive devices inside a kindergarten.  An unidentified soldier in the video said the IDF found two large explosive charge blocks and bags of ammunition on top of a closet and under a bed. Jones, a Marine Corps veteran, said Hamas’ weapons arsenal provided insight into the terrorist group’s tactics and capabilities and the type of combat they anticipate.  A series of photos released by the IDF shows Hamas’ weapons ranging from hand-held grenades to RPGs. “First, we see here are 100, what we call pineapple grenades. All of these are handheld grenades. You pull the pin, you throw them, and they have these little serrations on them where they break in the fragmentation– all turning into dozens of bullets from each grenade,” Jones explained on “The Big Weekend Show.” “What this indicates is they’re anticipating hand-to-hand, close-quarters combat. These can only go as far as you can throw them unless you booby trap them then they become an IED.” IDF SEIZED WEAPONS CACHE, SUPPLIES FROM HAMAS DURING TERROR GROUP’S ATTACK ON ISRAEL Another photo showed a voltmeter or an O-meter, which Jones said is used to “test either blasting caps or electric circuits, probably in IEDs or certain types of munitions.” “Up here is really the part I want to talk to you about. What you have here, this is a circle, and these are mils or minutes of angle, and it’s to a very fine detail. And down here you have a tool that’s used to set the angle of something that you’re going to use to indirect fire– to lob. And so what this shows is [the] capability of mortars or other types of indirect fire, something you want to go for a long distance, but you also see it’s kind of rudimentary. It’s very simple stuff,” the retired staff sergeant said.  He added: “A lot of this stuff down here you get at Home Depot. It’s not super sophisticated. And that can help account for some of the rocket attacks that land inside Gaza itself because they’re not using sophisticated tools.”  BIDEN SAYS ISRAEL NOT TO BLAME FOR ROCKET ATTACK ON GAZA HOSPITAL THAT LEFT 500 DEAD: ‘DONE BY THE OTHER TEAM’ Jones then moved on to a third photo that showed an RPG on the ground with flight motors and launch motors.  “What that means…RPGs are capable of going up to 900 yards, so you could actually use them as indirect fire and use RPGs from a further distance away. Having the motors that are capable of that shows that might be a part of their battle plan,” he said. “So all of this shows you a little bit of what they’re capable of and a little bit of what they might be trying to do as far as strategy. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial was dedicated on this day in history, Nov. 13, 1982 — becoming the newest addition to Washington, D.C.’s National Mall.  Designed by Maya Lin, an architectural student at Yale University at the time, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial consists of two 200-foot walls made up of 72 panels of polished black granite.  The names of more than 58,000 American service members who were killed (or were missing in action) in the Vietnam War are inscribed on 70 of those panels, in order of their deaths.  ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY, NOVEMBER 12, 1942, NAVAL BATTLE OF GUADALCANAL BEGINS IN THE SOLOMON ISLANDS At the time of its dedication, the memorial was regarded for its “revolutionary minimalist design” that appeared as “a gash on the landscape, an unhealed wound,” said the website for the National Parks Service. Unlike the other memorials on the National Mall, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial did not have statues of service members. Initially, it proved quite controversial among groups of veterans, notes the History Channel’s website.  After the Vietnam Veterans Memorial was dedicated, however, there was a “remarkable shift in public opinion” toward the memorial. As of 2023, it is the most-visited memorial on the National Mall, according to the Department of Defense website.  Today, it is not uncommon for friends and family members of those who are listed on the wall to leave mementos — such as flowers, photos, dog tags or even cans of beer — on the base of the panels bearing their names. NATIONAL VIETNAM WAR VETERANS DAY: HISTORY, FACTS AND HOW TO COMMEMORATE Items that are left behind become the property of the National Parks Service, says its website.  While the memorial was dedicated in 1982, the complex as a whole would see several additions in the years that followed. Two years later, in 1984, a statue of three soldiers, appropriately titled “Three Servicemen,” was installed and dedicated just a short distance away from the memorial wall.  The bronze sculpture, created by Frederick Hart, “depicts three American servicemen and the things they carried,” says the National Parks Service website.  HOMESCHOOLED CHILDREN PAY TRIBUTE TO MEDAL OF HONOR RECIPIENT FR. EMIL KAPAUN AT ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY The three soldiers were purposefully depicted as those of different races: One is European American, another is African American and another is Latino American.  The “Three Servicemen” sculpture was the first depiction of an African American on the National Mall, says Hart’s website.  “The fighting men depicted in the statue we dedicate today, the three young American servicemen, are individual only in terms of their battle dress; all are as one, with eyes fixed upon the memorial bearing the names of their brothers in arms,” said President Ronald Reagan in his speech at the dedication.  “On their youthful faces, faces too young to have experienced war, we see expressions of loneliness and profound love and a fierce determination never to forget,” the president added. A Cleveland, Ohio Jewish cemetery was vandalized with antisemitic graffiti, amid increased anti-Jewish acts following the Oct. 7 invasion of Israel by Hamas-led terrorists. FOX 8 in Cleveland reported that several headstones at the Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery on Ridge Road were spray painted with red swastikas. The swastikas were seen as the war between Israel and Hamas enters its fifth week. HISTORIC RISE IN ANTISEMITISM HAS AMERICAN JEWS ON EDGE: ‘GENERATIONAL CHALLENGE’ The Jewish Federation of Cleveland posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, that it is “absolutely sickening” anyone would hate Jewish people so much they would desecrate a cemetery. “This cowardly act to violate the memory of our elders only confirms what we already know: the hatred of the Jewish community here, and around the world, now is at a level not seen in generations,” the federation posted in a series of tweets. “We will support law enforcement in any way we can to see that those who are responsible face the consequences of their actions.” The act is another show of antisemitic hate toward American Jews, which is on the rise. CHANTS ‘CALLING FOR THE MUDER OF JEWS’ WERE SHOUTED AT ME DURING COOPER UNION PROTEST, STUDENT RECALLS   Carolyn Normandin, the regional director of the Anti-Defamation League in Michigan, told Fox News Digital about the situation on the ground in Ohio’s neighboring state, saying they typically get two to three incidents a week, but between Oct. 7 and Oct. 21, they got 61 incidents. Nationwide, the Anti-Defamation League reported a 388% rise in antisemitic incidents over the same period last year. Shontel Brown, D-Oh., turned to social media after learning about the vandalized headstones. ANTISEMITISM EXPOSED “Saddened and outraged that a Jewish cemetery in Brooklyn has been desecrated,” she posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Sending my thoughts to the local Jewish community-we are with you. “Antisemitism is clearly on the rise, and we must speak out,” she added. “Antisemitism and all forms of hate have no place in NE Ohio, or anywhere.” Beth Bailey of Fox News Digital contributed to this report.
