2 Coast Guard members in 'serious' condition after Alaska helicopter crash

A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter on a search and rescue mission crashed in southeast Alaska, seriously injuring two of the four crew members on board. US ARMY IDENTIFIES 2 SOLDIERS KILLED AFTER TRANSPORT VEHICLE FLIPS IN ALASKA TRAINING AREA All four crew members were taken to Seattle for treatment following the crash late Monday on Read Island, about 80 miles east of Sitka, said Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Michael Salerno. The Coast Guard described two of the crew members’ injuries as serious. The crash was reported by the fishing vessel that was the subject of the search and rescue call that the helicopter was responding to, he said. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and Salerno had no further details about what might have contributed to the crash. Rescue crews from state and local agencies and another Coast Guard helicopter arrived at the scene early Tuesday to help provide medical care to the crew members who were more seriously hurt, the Coast Guard said in a news release posted on social media. The crash was reported about 11:05 p.m., and the first crews arrived about 12:50 a.m., the Coast Guard said.

Dutch government ditches plan to reduce traffic at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport

Dutch government ditches plan to reduce traffic at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport

The Dutch government said Tuesday it has abandoned, for now, plans to rein in flights at Amsterdam’s busy Schiphol Airport following protests from countries including the United States and warnings that the move could breach European law and aviation agreements. The government last year announced plans to reduce the number of flights from 500,000 to 460,000 at Schiphol, one of Europe’s busiest aviation hubs. In a letter to lawmakers, Minister for Infrastructure and Water Mark Harbers said the first phase of the plan, for 2024, was being shelved “until further notice” and at least pending a decision by the country’s Supreme Court. KENYA AIRWAYS PLANE INTERCEPTED, DIVERTED FROM HEATHROW TO STANSTED AIRPORT AFTER ‘INCIDENT’: UK AUTHORITIES A lower court in May blocked plans to reduce the number of flights but an appeals court in Amsterdam later overturned that decision. A Supreme Court ruling is expected in the second quarter of 2024. Schiphol said in a statement it was “disappointed by the recent developments, as local residents are getting the short end of the stick.” The planned cuts were intended to reduce noise pollution for residents near the airport on Amsterdam’s southern outskirts. Schiphol said the decision would lead to “more uncertainty, including for the aviation sector itself. It is time that hindrance for local residents is noticeably reduced.” In his letter to lawmakers, Harbers wrote that U.S. authorities had called the reduction in flights “unjust, discriminatory and anti-competitive for airlines.” Aviation group Airlines for America welcomed the decision and expressed gratitude to the U.S. government for “issuing a very strong order outlining the violations of the U.S.-EU Air Transport Agreement.” It said that the order and government-to-government discussions held this week with the Dutch and the European Union “were instrumental to persuading the Dutch government to this successful outcome.” The group said it “remains committed to addressing both the needs of passengers and shippers while continuing to focus on reaching aviation’s global climate goals, including reducing noise pollution. Dutch airline KLM called the decision to shelve the plan “an important step to prevent retaliation and to continue flying to the US.” TURKISH SUSPECT ACCUSED IN GERMAN AIRPORT HOSTAGE SITUATION INVOLVING 4-YEAR-OLD KLM said in a statement it has agreed to a number of announced measures, including a “cleaner, quieter and more economical plan, to accelerate the reduction of noise pollution,” adding it shares the government’s environmental concerns and is “fully committed to reducing its environmental footprint.” Environmental groups in the Netherlands, including Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth, called the decision “shocking.” “There is so much at stake here. As a result, local residents are left in the lurch and the climate is further heated,” the groups wrote. “This is a major setback, but the number of flights will have to be reduced to make the Netherlands livable and to tackle the climate crisis,” they added.

Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh changes stance on chickens

Michigan's Jim Harbaugh changes stance on chickens

Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh changed his tune Monday on at least one thing as he is suspended from games for the rest of the regular season over the school’s sign-stealing scandal. Harbaugh mentioned his about-face on chickens during his press conference. He had reportedly called chickens a “nervous bird” and mentioned that as one of the reasons why he didn’t like the animal. Now, Harbaugh owns chickens and appears to have changed his tune completely.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM “I have chickens. We have chickens,” Harbaugh explained, via 247 Sports. “That was COVID year, 2020, Easter. Went to the Tractor Supply. And that’s before I think they even shut things down. But went to the Tractor Supply, got my chickens, brought them home for Easter. And just little chicks. ‘Here kids.’ And they loved them. They loved those chickens for about a week. “And then the chicks became teenager chickens and then became adult chickens. All hens, egg layers. I’m the one who takes care of them. And the respect that I have for chickens. “I know there was a time when I said that chicken is a nervous bird. ‘I don’t eat chicken; I only eat meat.’ But I was dead wrong. I stand corrected. These chickens are low maintenance and high production. They lay an egg every 26, 27 hours. And they need water, they need food.” JOHNNY MANZIEL WANTS TO HELP TEXAS A&M MAKE NEXT HEAD COACH DECISION: ‘I WOULD LOVE NOTHING MORE’ He added that he plays with the chickens as well and credited them with being good for his mental health and being “highly productive.” The chicken issue came up in a 2018 Bleacher Report story when then-quarterback Wilton Speight shared the now-famous Harbaugh story. Speight said Harbaugh told him not to eat chicken because, as the coach put it, “it’s a nervous bird.” “He thinks some type of sickness injected its way into the human population when people began eating white meats instead of beef and pork,” Speight said. “And he believes it, 100%.” People apparently can change with time.

Senior GOP congressman felt ‘sick’ after viewing footage of Hamas attacks in closed-door briefing

Senior GOP congressman felt 'sick' after viewing footage of Hamas attacks in closed-door briefing

A senior Republican congressman told Fox News Digital he felt sickened after viewing footage of Palestinian terror organization Hamas’ Oct. 7 surprise terror attacks that killed 1,200 Israeli citizens. California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa spoke with Fox News Digital over the phone after viewing the footage with most of his congressional colleagues. Issa said the “vast majority” of congressional lawmakers were in the Cannon Caucus Room to view the footage. The congressman noted that there were “over 300” people in attendance, which led to the screening being “standing room only.” ‘CLEARLY IRANS’S WAR WITH ISRAEL’: GOP CONGRESSMAN TRAVELINGI N MIDDLE EAST WARNS OF ‘SUSTAINED’ CONFLICT The senior House Foreign Affairs Committee Republican said the footage of “uniformed, military Hamas and civilian-dressed Hamas” killing “unarmed civilians” made him sick. “I’ve seen decapitation and I’ve seen just beating, and beating on both dead and alive bodies,” Issa said. “And quite frankly, I’m just sick to my stomach.” Issa said he believes the “most important detail” was the multiple sources of the footage. Some videos came from terrorists’ own social media posts, but most were from body camera footage and cellphone footage recorded by Hamas. “I mean, the details. And you can hear it, but when you see it, it’s like visiting Auschwitz or Birkenau, except it’s still going on visually,” Issa said. Since the Oct. 7 attacks – during which Issa was in the Middle East – antisemitic hate crimes have dramatically increased, according to the Anti-Defamation League. Protests against Israel have also intensified, and there are numerous viral videos of protesters ripping down posters of Israelis who have been kidnapped by Hamas. “I respect people’s rights to protest for the things that they think are unfair,” Issa said. “This isn’t one of them.” “Gaza was not occupied. This was not a resistance within Gaza, but rather a deliberate attack on civilians over the border,” he continued. Issa said the situation is one of “two separate things” and that we “can talk about the unfairness of the Palestinians not having a country of their own.” But those discussions should be separate from condemnation of what was shown to members of Congress, Issa said. The videos depicted “the unprovoked slaughter of civilians, a degree of inhumanity that you usually think for the machete world of elsewhere, but not in an area where education and opportunity is available the way it is for the Palestinians in Gaza,” Issa said. The California Republican said he believes the House “did the right thing” by passing the Israel aid bill “overwhelmingly” earlier this month, a bill that paid for aid by slashing the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) funding. Issa blasted President Biden as well, saying the president is “not complaining about the offset as much as he’s complaining about it not being in two other areas.” “I don’t think anything could be less appropriate. You know, funding for Ukraine and the ongoing war there, which is a military-on-military war primarily, is something I support. But supporting two fronts against two aggressors doesn’t have to be combined. And, you know, I think the Senate is being petty, I think the president’s being extremely petty.” Issa said the Constitution is “very clear” on the House’s job to appropriate and that they have done that job while trying “to do it in a responsible way by finding funds that are less important.” “And right now, we’re making them available,” Issa said. “And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. I’ve supported every package for Israel since I’ve been here, this one is no exception.” The White House did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Violent incidents over Israel-Hamas war at top Canadian college leads to arrest, police investigation

Violent incidents over Israel-Hamas war at top Canadian college leads to arrest, police investigation

Dueling protests in support of the Palestinian and Israeli peoples at Concordia University in Montreal last week resulted in multiple injuries and an arrest after a student assaulted a security guard amid a violent clash. Student group Jews on Campus told CBC that it tried to hold a peaceful demonstration in support of the hostages taken by Hamas, but then a crowd “chanting pro-Palestinian slogans” surrounded the demonstration. The “productive” effort “started to turn,” according to one witness.  The pro-Palestinian crowd allegedly called the Jewish students “murderers” and a fight broke out, although it was not clear who threw the first punch. The witness described the situation as “very scary as a Jewish person on campus.”  Pro-Palestinian students claimed that they submitted evidence to the police that pro-Israel protesters “attacked” them while they sold the keffiyeh – or head scarf – as a fundraiser for Palestinian people in Gaza. MAJOR LAW FIRM TO ACCUSE ELITE UNIVERSITIES OF CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATIONS FOR ENABLING ANTISEMITIC MOBS The incident prompted alumnus Lawrence Muscat, a senior vice president at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, to demand the university scratch his name from their list, blasting the school for having “failed to protect Jewish students.”  “No, I don’t want to meet with your President and fundraisers in D.C.,” he wrote on social media platform X, stressing that the school “will not get a penny from me.”  “At the same time, I am more than happy to support any Canadian charitable organization that holds Concordia accountable and works to protect Jewish students,” he continued. “Hit me up, I’m ready.” Montreal police deployed to the school around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday last week, leading to the arrest of a 22-year-old student who had allegedly assaulted a 54-year-old security guard during a violent clash between the opposing protests, CBC reported.  NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT CALLS ON STUDENTS TO CONDEMN ANTISEMITIC PHRASES: SCHOOL GROUP CLAPS BACK Police released the student on condition that they promise to appear in court. Officers remained on the scene until 4:15 p.m.  A second security guard and student were injured by assaults during the violence, but neither the guards nor the student sustained life-threatening injuries.  “I believe that the overwhelming majority of our community shares my complete abhorrence of these incidents and is appalled by them,” Concordia President and Vice Chancellor Graham Carr wrote in an email to the student body and wider university community. “A university, including ours, is a place where academic freedom, and the respectful, civil exchange of thoughts and ideas is valued above all else,” Carr wrote. “One source of pride for Concordia’s community is our cultural diversity and our desire and willingness to learn from others whose experiences and knowledge differ from our own.” “But under no circumstances can we, as a community, tolerate the reprehensible acts of hate and violence that occurred today,” he added.  Carr stressed that the university body must “be accountable for our actions and our words whether in the classroom, in meetings or in other university spaces.”  MAJOR UNIVERSITIES ACCUSED OF NOT SUPPORTING JEWISH STUDENTS AMID ANTISEMITISM SURGE “I am deeply saddened and disgusted that the actions of a few individuals have now brought us to the point that we arrived at today,” he lamented. “The vast majority of Concordians, irrespective of their political and ideological views, have worked diligently to maintain calm and to uphold the integrity of university life even at a moment when events elsewhere are creating extreme levels of anxiety and tension.”  However, the altercation was just one of three separate incidents reported at the university on Wednesday in which “violence or incitement to violence” took place, Carr admitted, including a social media post that could “reasonably be construed as inciting violence” and the discovery of swastikas in a university building. University campuses across both the U.S. and Canada have grown increasingly tense as students remain divided over the current war in Gaza, where the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) press on toward the Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza – the largest hospital in the strip. The IDF and Israeli officials have repeatedly claimed that the hospital sits atop a Hamas terrorist command center. Israeli forces have exposed several weapons and supplies deployed at schools or stored under hospitals as they enclosed on Al-Shifa.  Younger generations, particularly Gen Z, have shown significantly greater support for the Palestinians leading to a headache for university leadership on any given campus as they find themselves under pressure to address antisemitism on campuses, particularly by rich donors who have either threatened to pull funding or have already declared they will not be giving any money going forward.  Columbia University in New York City announced last week that it would suspend two student groups – Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace – from the campus until the end of term for alleged violations of school policies following intense backlash from some faculty members and donors over the handling of protests on campus.  Harvard President Claudine Gay released a statement Thursday condemning antisemitism and called out the pro-Palestinian rallying cry “from the river to the sea” as crossing the line. “Our community must understand that phrases such as ‘from the river to the sea’ bear specific historical meanings that to a great many people imply the eradication of Jews from Israel and engender both pain and existential fears within our Jewish community. I condemn this phrase and any similarly hurtful phrases,” Gay wrote.  The international community has heavily polarized over Israel’s operations in the strip, which the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry claimed has led to the deaths of over 11,000 people. The Biden administration has repeatedly cast doubts on the accuracy or veracity of the numbers, with critics noting that the ministry does not distinguish between civilian and combatant deaths in its count.  Fox News Digital’s Joseph A. Wulfsohn contributed to this report.

Biden White House faces backlash for housing migrants on national park land: ‘Not a place to house people’

Biden White House faces backlash for housing migrants on national park land: 'Not a place to house people'

FIRST ON FOX: House Republican leaders are opening a probe into the White House over its decision to bypass environmental regulations when green-lighting a plan to house migrants on public land in New York. In a letter sent Monday to White House Council on Environmental Quality Chairwoman Brenda Mallory, House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Bruce Westerman, R-Ark., and Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., the top GOP member of the panel’s oversight subcommittee, warned that the federal government appeared to steamroll environmental concerns when it leased public property for migrant housing. “Regardless of personal or political beliefs on immigration or migrant policy, there is common ground in keeping our national parks – some of America’s most treasured spaces – out of the debate,” they wrote to Mallory. “All national parks, whether in rural or urban areas, exist for visitors to experience wonder, to recreate and find joy, or to simply learn more about the great history of our nation.” “However, national parks are not a place to house people, temporarily or permanently, who lack shelter,” Westerman and Gosar continued in the letter obtained by Fox News Digital. BIDEN AGENCY DIVERTING MILLIONS IN BORDER FUNDS TO BLUE CITIES SAYS BORDER IS NOT ITS ‘MISSION SPACE’: EMAILS In September, amid the ongoing migrant surge at the southern border and related influx in New York City, the Department of the Interior (DOI) agreed to lease property in Gateway National Recreation Area’s Floyd Bennett Field – property managed by the National Park Service – to the local government. Officials then constructed temporary housing structures on the land, which is located in New York’s Brooklyn borough along the shore of Jamaica Bay. TITLE 42 EXPIRATION COULD BE AN ENVIRONMENTAL CATASTROPHE, EXPERTS WARN However, the Republican leaders pointed out that, prior to the decision to lease the property, Democratic New York Gov. Kathy Hochul noted the DOI had itself argued such an action would likely violate federal laws. The governor, who has called for federal assistance in dealing with her state’s migrant influx, remarked in August that officials told her office “they do not allow for use of shelter on any of their properties.” The Republicans also expressed concern that the White House Council on Environmental Quality allowed the DOI to bypass the normal eco review process mandated under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The 1969 law requires federal agencies to review the environmental impacts of projects and proposals on federal land before approval. “Despite concerns with the legality of housing people on national park land, the Biden administration ultimately moved forward with using national park land to establish a migrant housing encampment,” they continued in their letter to Mallory. “Alarmingly, to secure the FBF Lease, NPS requested and received alternative arrangements for National Environmental Policy Act compliance.”  “CEQ concurred with the alternative arrangement request and allowed NPS and DOI to bypass the standard NEPA compliance process,” they added. “CEQ’s approval of the alternative arrangement request was necessary for DOI and NPS to move forward with the FBF Lease.” Westerman and Gosar then listed a series of questions for Mallory about the legality of the decision to house migrants at Floyd Bennett Field and about the process that led to that decision. The letter Monday comes as migrants continue to flood the southern border in record numbers and Republicans continue to call for the Biden administration to make structural reforms to secure the border. In October, the Department of Homeland Security reported nearly 241,000 migrant encounters, the highest level ever recorded for that month. And since President Biden took office in early 2021, more than 8 million migrants have crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally. The White House didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Pumped up: Who’s leading the effort to stop blue state drivers from pumping their own gas

Pumped up: Who's leading the effort to stop blue state drivers from pumping their own gas

Mere months after drivers in Oregon got the green light to pump their own gas, one of the state’s biggest labor unions is trying to ban self-service again. “For decades, Oregon stood shoulder to shoulder with New Jersey as the last bastions of resistance to self-serve gas,” reads the petition promoted by United Food and Commercial Workers Local 555. “The Beaver State should restore its historic alliance with the Garden State in defense of jobs and accessibility.” SAN FRANCISCO AREA PUSH TO BAN GAS APPLIANCES AMID BLACKOUTS IS ‘PURE EXTREMIST POLITICS,’ CEO SAYS Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek signed a bill in July allowing drivers across the state to choose between filling their own gas tank or having an attendant do it for them. Gas stations are still required to staff at least half their pumps under the new law for drivers who want an attendant to fill their tank. The law took effect immediately and left New Jersey as the only state prohibiting drivers from pumping their own gas. PROMINENT CRITIC OF BLUE STATE HOMELESS POLICIES ARRESTED ON THEFT CHARGES IN OREGON But UFCW Local 555 recently launched a state initiative petition that would repeal the law and ban all self-serve gas, including in rural Oregon counties where drivers have been allowed to fuel up on their own at night for nearly a decade. Motorcyclists would still be allowed to pump their own gas under the proposed measure, but an attendant would have to hand them the nozzle. BLUE STATE SUSPENDS BASIC SKILLS GRADUATION REQUIREMENT AGAIN, CITING HARM TO STUDENTS OF COLOR UFCW Local 555 represents more than 30,000 workers in retail, manufacturing and healthcare. It claims allowing people to pump their own gas has resulted in safety issues, layoffs and less accessible pumps.  “This bill is clear favoritism for big oil companies over the interests of workers,” UFCW Local 555 President Dan Clay said in a statement after the law passed. “While some Oregonians may experience marginal convenience, the underlying motivation is just a corporate giveaway that adds a burden to disabled drivers and undermines the safety and welfare of workers.” Clay is one of the chief petitioners of the new proposed ballot measure. The union has to collect at least 117,173 valid signatures to get the measure on the November 2024 ballot, Oregon Public Broadcasting reported. The rule change fiercely divided Oregonians, with some complaining in testimony to legislators that people would now have to “get out in the rain and cold to pump their gas.” Others said it was time for Oregon to join the other 48 states and “get rid of the arbitrary bottlenecking of the process of fueling our cars.”

FDNY blames e-scooter battery for fire that kills 3 family members

FDNY blames e-scooter battery for fire that kills 3 family members

The New York Fire Department is warning of the dangers of non-safety certified lithium-ion batteries after an e-scooter battery was determined to be the cause of a fire that claimed the lives of three family members. Firefighters responded to the early morning three-alarm fire in Brooklyn on Sunday. Units arrived just over three minutes after receiving the report, and found the three-story building with heavy fire on all three floors, according to a department Facebook post. The fire victims were identified as 81-year-old Albertha West, her son, 58-year-old Michael West, and her grandson, 33-year-old Jamiyl West, FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh announced at a news conference Monday.  “This was a difficult and a dangerous fire that drew a massive response from our members and seriously injured one of our firefighters,” Kavanagh said.  NYC AMTRAK SERVICE DELAYED BY OVERHEAD PARKING GARAGE’S STRUCTURAL WOES The firefighter is reportedly included in the remaining number of 14 patients who suffered injuries, officials said. “This brings our total number of people killed by fires caused by these batteries for this year alone to 17,” Kavanagh said. “This number is staggering and is devastating, and it underlies a problem that we have been sounding the alarm on for some time.” Kavanagh directly called out retailers like Amazon and Walmart, which she says continue to sell batteries that are not safety certified by a national testing laboratory.  “Food service apps like GrubHub and Uber Eats need to do more to ensure the safety of their workers who depend on these bikes to make a living,” she said. A GrubHub spokesperson called the fire “a horrible tragedy” and said the company has “always tried to create a safer, more sustainable environment in New York City and have supported several initiatives to promote fire safety and access to certified equipment.” NY GOV. HOCHUL BOLSTERS FBI JOINT TERRORISM TASK FORCE STAFFING OVER ‘RISE IN HATE CRIMES,’ HARASSMENT The food ordering and delivery platform based in Chicago says it has “repeatedly called on New York City and the U.S. Congress to provide safe charging hubs for delivery partners, to establish a product safety standard for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, and to address concerns related to illegal, unregulated charging devices widely available for purchase through online retailers.” “We’re surprised and disappointed by the commissioner’s comments given our close working relationship and because we stood with FDNY and City officials earlier this year to commit to increasing fire safety education and outreach in NYC,” a statement from GrubHub reads. It added that no single company, manufacturer or organization is to blame, and every stakeholder involved will need to be a part of the solution. GrubHub also said the batteries involved in Sunday’s fire were reportedly for scooters, and there was no evidence that they were used for food delivery.  Amazon and Walmart did not immediately respond to requests for comment.  FDNY is on track to “surpass 100 fire deaths this year,” a number not seen in decades. The total currently stands at 93 following the deaths on Sunday.  The department has safety tips regarding lithium-ion batteries here.

Suspected serial arsonist named Burnside charged with armed robbery hours after leaving jail

Suspected serial arsonist named Burnside charged with armed robbery hours after leaving jail

A serial arson suspect, who a New York judge freed without bail Monday, ignited a new investigation less than two hours later on armed robbery charges, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. Amanda Burnside, a Southampton woman who was accused of lighting fires at three houses, was released on her own recognizance despite prosecutors’ request that the judge set bail at $500,000 or $1 million bond.  A judge ordered her to report for supervised release within 72 hours. HOLLYWOOD HEADLESS TORSO SUSPECT SAM HASKELL ‘PARANOID’ WEEKS BEFORE BODY FOUND IN DUMPSTER, FRIEND SAYS Instead, according to authorities, she waited less than two hours before she acquired a knife, went into a Dollar Tree store and tried to rob it. The fiasco prompted District Attorney Ray Tierney, the lead prosecutor in the Gilgo Beach serial killer case, to blast the state’s bail laws. “Clearly, the dangerousness of this defendant, who allegedly tried to ignite three homes on fire, was not adequately considered, given that within two hours of her arraignment, she allegedly committed another serious, violent felony,” Tierney said Monday night. GILGO BEACH SUSPECT’S CHEEK SWAB DNA MATCHES PIZZA BOX SAMPLE: PROSECUTOR “Furthermore, the danger that this defendant posed to society could never be adequately considered insofar as dangerousness is not a bail factor that judges can consider under New York State law.” New York’s unpopular bail reform laws have been a thorny issue for Democrats in the state and local jurisdictions. Suffolk County Republican Ed Romaine will become the first GOP county executive in 20 years after last week’s election win. He campaigned relentlessly against soft-on-crime policies, and ads supporting his campaign bluntly told county residents, “We don’t need another liberal.” Republicans now control all countywide seats in Suffolk and Nassau counties – two large suburbs east of New York City – and all four congressional seats in the region.

THAILAND KICKS OFF 3-DAY SONGKRAN FESTIVAL FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2019, HOPING FOR SIGNIFICANT BOOST IN TOURISM The cost of a trip to Thailand can vary widely depending on several factors, such as your travel style, duration of stay, choice of accommodation, activities and personal preferences. Flights: The cost of round-trip flights from major cities varies, ranging from $600 to $1,200 or more. Accommodation: Depending on your preferences, budget hostels or guesthouses can cost between $10 and $30 per night, mid-range hotels between $30 and $100, and luxury resorts exceeding $200 per night. Activities: Budgeting $20 to $100 per activity covers entrance fees to attractions, guided tours and recreational activities. It is recommended to plan a budget based on your specific preferences and travel plans. Embarking on a Thai adventure is often ideal during the cool and dry season, spanning from November to February. This timeframe is favored for its pleasant temperatures and reduced weather-related disruptions. Yet, the best time to visit Thailand hinges on your preferred experiences, as other seasons throughout the year may offer unique charms and suitability for specific activities. SEA TURTLE WITH NET AROUND ITS NECK IS RESCUED BY TOUR GUIDE IN HEROIC MOMENT During this season, the weather is cooler, and there is less rainfall. It’s ideal for beach vacations, exploring cities, and outdoor activities. However, it aligns with the peak tourist season, particularly in December and January, potentially resulting in heightened crowds at popular destinations. As the hot season unfolds, temperatures soar, occasionally accompanied by brief rain showers from March to May. This is a good time for beach enthusiasts, though inland areas may experience substantial heat. For those who relish warmth, this remains a viable time to visit, particularly in the northern regions of Thailand. The rainy season, spanning from June to October, welcomes heightened rainfall. While the rain can be heavy, it often comes in short bursts, painting the landscapes in hues of green. This period marks the low tourist season, promising lower prices and popular attractions are less crowded. Airplanes stand out as the most efficient mode of transportation in Thailand. It’s time to revive the American spirit. Here’s how we start

It’s time to revive the American spirit. Here's how we start

In my new book, “The Constitution of the United States and Other Patriotic Documents,” readers can rediscover what made America a luminous beacon of hope for liberty, prosperity, and justice throughout the world. Since before its founding, our country has been blessed with extraordinary leaders who steeled our resolve for independence. They invented a new form of government by the people and for the people. Each brought different skills and talents to the cause of freedom. Those who followed guided us ably through more than two centuries of often treacherous challenges and grave threats. It is a story best told through the lens of historic documents that have been honored and preserved for our national heritage. In this unique collector’s edition, the writings, speeches, and letters of our founders and their successors are carefully selected and explained. The important promises and navigating principles that shaped our great nation can be read in full. Over time, others helped transform public sentiment to advance equality and opportunity, empowering generations that followed. Their eloquent beliefs and convictions are also included. NEW STUDY FINDS AMERICAN HISTORY COLLEGE COURSES AMPLIFY DIVISIVE MOMENTS WHILE IGNORING POSITIVE ACTIONS The American experiment had its genesis in the power of words and ideas. We owe our unparalleled success to the exemplary statesmen —and women— who expressed them. Bold and transcendent figures defined what it is to be an American and to control our own destinies. Their dynamic opinions, steadfast faith, and inspiring arguments are revisited in this volume as a salute to our nation’s enduring triumph. The durability of our constitutional republic and the rights we enjoy today also serve as a shinning testimonial to the moral courage and intellectual brilliance of our forebearers. We are their grateful beneficiaries. Absorbing their wisdom enriches our appreciation for the lives we enjoy and our love of country. Among the essential patriotic documents contained in the book, we revisit seminal moments in the American journey. For example… *As Patrick Henry stirred the nation with his passionate vow, “Give me liberty or give me death,” it was the inexorable logic and “common sense” of Thomas Paine that galvanized Americans to declare their independence when he wrote, “Resolution is our inherent character, and courage hath never forsaken us.” *John Adams cautioned that only the ballot box in a representative democracy would prevent men in power from becoming “ravenous beasts of prey.” He argued that “The happiness of society is the end (goal) of government.” *While Ben Franklin expressed sober misgivings about the Constitution, Alexander Hamilton and James Madison penned a brilliant set of essays known as The Federalist Papers that led to its adoption. Madison acknowledged the flaws of our system when he wrote, “That which is the least imperfect is therefore the best government.” *As he left office, a prescient George Washington warned that divisive political parties would become “potent engines of unprincipled men” who would “undermine freedom and enfeeble good governance.” He vigorously counseled against them, to no avail. *Frederick Douglass, an escaped slave, abolitionist icon, and confidant of Lincoln delivered a powerful lament on the hypocrisy of American slavery by arguing that “We, the people” does not mean “We, the white people.” In plain language he deplored the cruelty and depravation that rendered “four million of our fellow countrymen in chains…and sold on the auction-block with horses, sheep, and swine.” *In one of the greatest acts of moral courage Abraham Lincoln proclaimed “that all persons held as slaves shall be forever free.” At Gettysburg he reminded Americans that “all men are created equal.” In his Second Inaugural he sought to salve the wounds of war by uttering the words, “With malice toward none, with charity for all.” *As the suffrage movement gained momentum, Elizabeth Cady Stanton condemned the tyranny of sexism, leaving “women to feel aggrieved, oppressed, and deprived of their most sacred rights.” Victoria C. Woodhull correctly argued that “the Constitution makes no distinction of sex” and “women are the equals of men.” In a much acclaimed speech,Susan B. Anthony, who was indicted for casting a ballot, posed the vexing question, “Is it a crime for a citizen of the United States to vote?” *At the dawn of the 20th century, Theodore Roosevelt shattered the Gilded Age of ruthless monopolists and robber barons with his promise of a “square deal for every man, big or small, rich or poor.” Drawing from the principles of Lincoln, Roosevelt moved aggressively and successfully against corporate corruption and what he called “the sinister influence or control of special interests” in government. *His relative, Franklin Roosevelt, saw the nation through immense suffering in the Great Depression by reassuring Americans, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” His innovative fireside chats buoyed the spirits of a nation in despair. When the U.S. was attacked by Japan on December 7, 1941, Roosevelt delivered his famous “a date which will live in infamy” address before Congress. He vowed that “The American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.” CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINION *As Germany initiated World War II in Europe, the renowned theoretical physicist, Albert Einstein, sent a secret letter to Roosevelt warning him that the Nazis were attempting to develop a new and frighteningly powerful weapon —an atomic bomb. Einstein’s alarming missive triggered the covert operation by the U.S. to build its own weapon in the highly classified Manhattan Project. *When Harry S. Truman ordered two atomic bombs dropped on Japan he revealed to the nation that “The force from which the sun draws its power has been loosed against those who brought war to the Far East.” *In the face of Soviet aggression, Dwight D. Eisenhower sought peace through strength by urging a halt to nuclear proliferation as he warned, “Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.” *Ronald Reagan became the unabashed voice of conservatism and opened his presidency with a masterful address declaring, “Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.” He precipitated the end of the Cold War when he challenged the Soviets to remove the physical barrier in Berlin. “Mr. Gorbechev, tear down this wall,” Reagan demanded. Two years later, the wall came tumbling down. And so did the communist empire. The common denominator among all these exceptional men and women was their abiding faith in our country’s greatness fortified by a devotion to patriotism. In their memorable words, Americans found both solace and inspiration. We still can. The virtues, aspirations, and ideals they so elegantly expressed are rediscovered in my new book, “The Constitution of the United States and Other Patriotic Documents.” It is a living testimonial for American patriots who are immensely proud of our foundational desire for a unified nation dedicated to freedom, prosperity, and justice for all. We continue to seek ways to improve the human experience and strive for “a more perfect union.” In an era when too many have forgotten our country’s remarkable past, the noble ideas and uplifting words of these exceptional leaders are needed now more than ever to rekindle the indomitable American spirit. Josh Dobbs is NFL’s best story, he’s turned situations meant for failure into success

Josh Dobbs is NFL's best story, he's turned situations meant for failure into success

The best story in the NFL now? Minnesota Vikings quarterback Josh Dobbs. Without question. Dobbs lit up the New Orleans Saints on Sunday in a 27-19 victory. He threw a touchdown pass. He ran for a touchdown. Dobbs also led three touchdown drives. And then the first half ended. So, yes, nice outing as the Vikings have won both the games Dobbs has played. “It was electric, I had a lot of fun,” Dobb said after his first experience playing in Minnesota. “Great win, we’ll continue pushing forward. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM “Stepping on the field and having the [practice repetitions] where you’re not first time throwing to receivers and working with the Oline mid-game allowed it to be a lot more comfortable on the field. The week of preparation where I could get the offense under my belt, the game plan under my belt, was awesome.” In two weeks Dobbs has made the Twin Cities feel comfortable about losing Kirk Cousins as their starting quarterback since he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. That is no small feat because, you may recall, Cousins led the NFL in touchdown passes when he was injured. But here we are: Josh Dobbs taking over. “Having fun coaching him right now just because there’s a lot that goes into it,” Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said of Dobbs. “Then when we get to play football he goes out there and he looks like he’s enjoying himself. “I know his teammates are enjoying watching him. [He] continues to get acclimated to our team. I’m just really proud of Josh and he’s excited to get back to work and continue the momentum on this thing.” In his two games with the Vikings, Dobbs has completed over 70% of his passes, accounted for five TDs (three passing, two rushing) and has not turned over the ball. But that’s just the football portion of this tale. And the football portion feels a lot like side details. The main story is about the way Dobbs has dealt with and overcome circumstances written as if meant to see him fail. The endearing part is how Dobbs has been handed lemons and turned them into lemonade. He arrived in Minnesota on Oct. 31st after being traded from the Cardinals at the trade deadline almost as an afterthought. The Vikings are his third team this season after being traded from Cleveland to Arizona in August. And then things got crazy. The Vikings traded for Dobbs because Cousins was out and they needed someone to back up new starter Jaran Hall. Fine. WIFE OF LEGENDARY NFL HEAD COACH BLASTS BILL BELICHICK, URGES RETIREMENT: ‘I HOPE HE NEVER WINS AGAIN’ To help Hall, a rookie, prepare for his first NFL start. the club gave Dobbs a total of zero first-team snaps in practice two weeks ago. All the snaps went to Hall. Dobbs was comfortable with this. He’d arrived in town five days earlier and didn’t even know where he was going to live much less the cadence for the team’s snaps. Dobbs did have some experience with quick turnarounds because last season he made his first career start eight days after signing with the Tennessee Titans. The Titans won the game, by the way. The Cardinals similarly acquired Dobbs in the preseason and started him in their regular-season opener less than two weeks later. Then the end of his Cardinals days happened at the trade deadline — a time that shows Arizona’s lack of true planning and the manner which life in the NFL comes at people very fast. Dobbs was told he was starting. Then he was told he was benched. Then he was told he was benched but wouldn’t be released or traded. Then he was traded. This all happened within a 36-hour period. And when Hall was injured in the first quarter against Atlanta last week, enter Dobbs. Dobbs entered the Atlanta game although he had not thrown a pass to any of his receivers, nor taken a snap from starting center Garrett Bradbury. Dobbs later admitted sheepishly he didn’t know most of his teammates’ names. A holder of an aerospace engineering degree, Dobbs is obviously a bright dude. So he caught on quickly even as his game took, um, flight. The Vikings beat the Saints. And by last week, life had started to slow down. Sort of. “I’m still staying across the street [from the team complex], living out of a suitcase and everything,” Dobbs said early in the week. “I did, you know, my car made it from Arizona – that’s the first thing that’s made it up here. “…Having the chance to informally meet teammates and coaches, and just to talk ball but also to talk life off the field was really cool, just learning and getting to know my teammates.” Dobbs said he spent most of last week in the Vikings facility trying to catch up for not being there the season’s first two months. “I’m not paid by the hour so I have nowhere else to be,” Dobbs said. “I spent a lot of time at the facility. I probably ate every meal every day there. Which was fine, man. I’m blessed to be in the position I am. I’m grateful for this opportunity. “So no stone will be not turned over, whether it’s no growing in the offense, creating simulated reps in the facility, or studying the defenses we’re going to play.” Dobbs said he spent a lot of time asking the other quarterbacks — including Cousins — questions about the offense and opponents. “I asked them questions about the offense, stuff that was getting installed, just to clear my mind,” Dobbs said, “as I was exorcizing some demons to make sure I was locked in for game day.” Dobbs was virtually a Vikings veteran by Sunday. Except for the part where he needed someone to point him to the Vikings’ locker room. That happened pregame. And then the game started. In his first start the Vikings were reluctant about asking Dobbs to make plays early in the game. Now they weren’t. O’Connell called five passes on Minnesota’s first drive. Dobbs completed four of them. So, not perfect but the Vikings led 3-0. Remember that Dobbs is doing this without Justin Jefferson, N’Keal Harry or K.J. Osborn. He’s throwing to rookie of the year candidate Jordan Adison, sure. But Brandon Powell? Jalen Nailor? Trishton Jackson? No matter. Dobbs improvises. Runs when he should probably throw. Throws into coverages. But he has kept the ball out of the other team’s hands and he never gives up on a play. “Our guys understand now it’s whistle to whistle,” O’Connell said. “He does unique things that maybe we didn’t before … Josh in two starts has shown us what mobility in addition to what we do offensively can do for us in this tough time when we’re trying to overcome the loss of a guy like Kirk.” Stuff like that has obviously made Jefferson excited about his return. And what about the future? The Vikings are without a starter next season. Have they already met their future starter? “He’ll get him a big contract after the year,” FOX Sports analyst Jimmy Johnson said at halftime on Sunday. “It’s about being in the right place at the right time with the right coach and he’s got that in Minnesota.”
