Maryland principal engaged in sexual misconduct and bullying, investigation finds

Maryland principal engaged in sexual misconduct and bullying, investigation finds

A Maryland principal engaged in sexual misconduct and bullying and violated sexual harassment policies, according to a months-long investigation from the Montgomery County Office of the Inspector General. The investigation determined that Montgomery County Public Schools’ Joel Beidleman committed misconduct during his tenure as principal of Farquhar Middle School in Olney. Officials launched the investigation after dozens of teachers accused Beidleman of sexual harassment earlier this year. He was allegedly reported to the school district 18 times over the course of seven years with little to no repercussions. Beidleman was even promoted in June to principal of Paint Branch High School in Burtonsville.  Beidleman “made repeated comments about the appearance of female subordinates, directed offensive comments and jokes of a sexual nature at subordinates, bullied subordinates, and had a sexual relationship with a subordinate over whom he had supervisory responsibility,” according to the investigation, Fox 5 DC reported. US WATCHDOG INVESTIGATES BIDEN ADMINISTRATION’S SITE SELECTION FOR NEW FBI HEADQUARTERS The probe also determined that staff were afraid to disagree with Beidleman, were worried about their job security and felt intimidated and disrespected because of the principal’s behavior. The investigation’s findings were given to superintendent Monifa B. McKnight, who will take action in response to the case. Beidleman was placed on extended leave after allegations of sexual assault. This is one of two investigations into Montgomery County Public Schools, with the other probing the district’s process for responding to allegations of misconduct by school employees. A civil discrimination lawsuit was filed against Montgomery County’s Board of Education and Beidleman last month, and additional lawsuits could come in the future. JURY TO DETERMINE WHETHER MARYLAND OFFICER’S FATAL SHOOTING OF HANDCUFFED MAN WAS JUSTIFIED “The investigation by the Montgomery County Maryland Office of the Inspector General regarding allegations of misconduct by Dr. Joel Beidleman confirms some of the most troubling aspects of this matter,” McKnight wrote in a statement. “The Board of Education is committed to using the work of the Inspector General, both this investigation and the second pending report reviewing the processes and procedures for handling complaints of misconduct, as a catalyst for thorough systemic reform and enhanced accountability.” “The Board of Education will put policies and systems in place that nurture and support a culture of respect where employees feel safe and confident that complaints or concerns will be addressed,” the statement continued. “The Board thanks the Inspector General for the work of her and her team.”

SEAN HANNITY: Biden was the loser of last night’s debate

SEAN HANNITY: Biden was the loser of last night's debate

FOX News host Sean Hannity recaps last night’s debate between Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., and Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif. on “Hannity.” RED VS BLUE STATE DEBATE HIGHLIGHTS: TOP 5 MOMENTS FROM THE DESANTIS, NEWSOM SLUGFEST HANNITY: Now, none of this would have been possible without both Governor Newsom, Governor DeSantis. They both deserve a lot of credit and they seem to have really enjoy the opportunity. Both thanked me after the debate and Governor Newsom tweeted out what a good time he had and wanted to go longer. And let’s be honest, there was only one clear cut loser if we’re going to look at last night’s debate objectively, that’d be President Joe Biden. Here’s the reality. Joe Biden could never come on this program for a debate like last night because he’s not mentally capable.  At 81 years of age and steep cognitive decline, Biden is having a hard time talking, walking and even staying awake. His hearing’s not good. His vision is terrible. The font size on his teleprompter is gigantic. He’s not fit to serve. He should definitely not be running for re-election. In fact, he’s one major trip and fall away from ending his campaign. And based on last night, we know the Democratic Party has a much better option, who can walk and talk and form sentences and debate and speak eloquently about the liberal issues that they’re passionate about – and I’ve been warning conservatives and Republicans to watch out for potential replacements for Joe. And Gavin Newsom, like it or not, would be on the short list. I’ve been warning people. Now, Newsom does have one big problem. He’s the governor of California. The Golden State has a lot of problems. Now, maybe in fairness, it’s not all of Governor Newsom’s fault, but after more than a decade of single party Democratic rule, its citizens are leaving the state in droves. They are leaving with their feet and their money and by the way, California, it should never struggle. It has more natural resources than any other state in the country. I lived there five years. It is a beautiful state. They have year-round agriculture. The best wine growing region in the entire world. Silicon Valley, they have. Hollywood, Disney, it’s also a major private equity and financial hub with some of the largest international ports in the entire world. It is a gateway to Asia, but now California’s population, it is shrinking and shrinking dramatically.

Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown suggests recent NFL fine was excessive: ‘It is a lot of money’

Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown suggests recent NFL fine was excessive: 'It is a lot of money'

Detroit Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown was recently slapped with a hefty fine for what the NFL described as unnecessary roughness.  St. Brown was blocking downfield when he hit Jaquan Brisker during the Lions’ Week 11 game against the Chicago Bears.  Although referees did not flag St. Brown during the play, the Lions receiver was later fined $43,709. The third-year pro understood the reasoning behind the NFL fines as it relates to player safety. But he suggested the fine was excessive. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM “It is a lot of money, but I guess, you know, the way I block wasn’t legal,” St. Brown said, via MLive.com. “They said it was like forcible contact to the head. Like I said, I just got to be better. But there are still rules that have to be followed in the game, and we got to try our best to follow those. But, yeah, I mean, I feel like $43,000 for what I did was quite a lot. But it’s fine. I’m going to appeal it. We’ll see what happens.” JJ WATT BLASTS NFL OVER LIONS STAR’S FINE: ‘THIS. IS. STEALING. MONEY.’ St. Brown also expressed his appreciation of the NFL’s efforts to remove potentially dangerous hits from the game. “I’m on the offensive side of the ball. I’m not complaining too much,” St. Brown said. “We’re the ones that have to take the hits. It’s really rare that we get to deliver blows. If I was a defender, I would probably be saying ‘yeah’ to you, but as an offensive player, I don’t mind it. I go across the middle. They’re trying to protect us [and] I’m all for it.” On Sunday, former Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals star pass rusher J.J. Watt reacted to St. Brown’s fine, suggesting the NFL was “stealing money.” “Here we go again…,” Watt wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “General rule of thumb: If you have to watch the video multiple times to try figuring out which person did something wrong and you still can’t figure it out, we probably shouldn’t be taking $43,709 from someone. “This. Is. Stealing. Money.” The Lions are in first place in the NFC North and are looking to bounce back from a disappointing Thanksgiving Day loss. Detroit travels to New Orleans this weekend for a matchup with the Saints.

Trump reacts to DeSantis, Newsom at Red State vs Blue State debate: ‘Both worked hard’

Trump reacts to DeSantis, Newsom at Red State vs Blue State debate: 'Both worked hard'

EXCLUSIVE: Former President Trump reacted to the debate between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and California Gov. Gavin Newsom, telling Fox News Digital he thinks “they both worked hard and they both did well.”  Fox News hosted “The Great Red State vs. Blue State Debate,” which was moderated by Sean Hannity Thursday night. DeSantis, who is running for president in 2024, and Newsom, who made clear he was not, faced off in a first-of-its kind showdown, clashing on a number of policies related to abortion, crime, taxes and COVID-19. RED VS BLUE STATE DEBATE HIGHLIGHTS: TOP 5 MOMENTS FROM THE DESANTIS, NEWSOM SLUGFEST Trump, who has a commanding lead over the Republican presidential primary field, watched the debate. “I thought it was a very even debate,” Trump said. “They both worked hard and they both did well.” The former president has had some harsh words for DeSantis along the campaign trail, but did not make any additional comments about the Florida governor. NEWSOM, DESANTIS DEBATE GETS HEATED OVER COVID, TAX POLICES: ‘YOU DID A LOT OF DAMAGE’ The conversation Thursday night quickly shifted from issues facing each state, to 2024, with DeSantis saying Newsom is “joined at the hip with Biden and (Vice President Kamala) Harris.” DeSantis also said Biden is “in decline” and represents “a danger to the country.”  However, Newsom stressed his support for Biden and his re-election campaign. “I’m proud of the work Biden and Harris have done,” Newsom said. “I will take Joe Biden at 100 rather than Ron DeSantis any day of the week at any age.” TRUMP CAMPAIGN CALLS DESANTIS ‘THIRSTY ONLYFANS WANNABE’ FOR DEBATING NEWSOM: ‘KISS OF DEATH’ Newsom did take the opportunity, though, to take a swipe at DeSantis and his campaign. “How’s that going for you, Ron? You’re down 41 points in your own home state,” Newsom said.  “Neither of us will be the nominee for our party in 2024,” Newsom told DeSantis at one point. The RealClearPolitics polling average has Trump leading Biden, 47% to 45.3% in a general election match-up.  As for the Republican primary, the RealClearPolitics polling average places Trump in first place at 62%. DeSantis is in second place with 13.6%.

Gov. Kemp rips Biden for honoring slain ‘Cop City’ activist who allegedly shot Georgia officer: ‘Disgraceful’

Gov. Kemp rips Biden for honoring slain 'Cop City' activist who allegedly shot Georgia officer: 'Disgraceful'

EXCLUSIVE – Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp called out the Biden administration for honoring an activist on Transgender Day of Remembrance who was killed for allegedly firing upon law enforcement during a “Cop City” altercation earlier this year.  “Honoring someone who died shooting at and critically wounding a State Trooper is disgraceful and unbecoming of the Office of President,” Kemp said in an exclusive statement to Fox News Digital Thursday.  “Joe Biden’s support for Defund the Police activists makes law enforcement less safe and puts more American lives in danger. In Georgia, we will always back the blue, and violent offenders who seek the destruction of our communities will feel the full weight of the law,” he continued.  ATLANTA POLICE NAME 23 DOMESTIC TERRORISM SUSPECTS IN COP CITY ATTACK; AG WARNS ‘VIOLENT EXTREMISTS’ Nonbinary 26-year-old Manuel Esteban Paez Teran, otherwise known as “Tortuguita,” was killed during an alleged gunfight with police in Atlanta in January while showcasing opposition with others to the future Atlanta Public Safety Training Center.  On Jan. 18, Georgia State Patrol responded to the construction site to remove demonstrators against what critics call “Cop City,” a derisive term for the planned training center for police and firefighters. Authorities said Teran shot a trooper in the abdomen before law enforcement officials returned fire and killed Teran. Teran’s death prompted violent demonstrations in downtown Atlanta days later, and the activist’s family says Teran did nothing wrong to merit his killing by police. The “Cop City” protests have been ongoing for years. Anti-law enforcement protesters and environmentalists have held riots at the location, with many turning violent, as officials have been forced to deploy tear gas to disperse crowds and thwart vandalism.  Ultimately, Georgia State Troopers were not charged in connection with Tortuguita’s death. Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney George Christian made the announcement back in October, calling the officials’ response “objectively reasonable.” TRANS MAN WHO TRANSITIONED AT AGE 11 SAYS DENYING MINORS TREATMENT IS ‘GENOCIDE’ Despite the controversy surrounding Teran’s death, the White House still honored the activist during “Transgender Day of Remembrance” on November 20.  “This year, at least 46 transgender individuals in this country—and hundreds more around the world—were killed in horrifying acts of violence,” the White House statement read. “Each of these lives was precious. Each of them deserved freedom, justice, and joy. Today, on Transgender Day of Remembrance, we mourn those we lost in the deadliest year on record for transgender Americans, as well as the countless other transgender people—disproportionately Black and brown transgender women and girls—who face brutal violence, discrimination, and harassment.” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also honored the 26 killed, noting that those impacted are largely people of color.  “Today, on Transgender Day of Remembrance, we grieve the 26 transgender Americans who were killed this year. Year after year, we see that these victims are disproportionately Black women and women of color,” she said.  The White House data stems from a Human Rights Campaign report that alleges an “epidemic of violence” has targeted the LGBTQ+ community.  The organization declared a “National State of Emergency” for LGBTQ+ individuals, citing what it calls “anti-LGBTQ+” legislation encompassing topics like gender-affirming healthcare for minors, transgender athletes competing in women’s sports, and transgender bathroom policies.  The White House didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Fox News’ Danielle Wallace contributed to this report.

Ridley Scott warns AI will be ‘technical hydrogen bomb’ in film industry

Ridley Scott warns AI will be ‘technical hydrogen bomb’ in film industry

Ridley Scott, director of sci-fi classics like “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” is terrified about AI technology running away with society. In an interview with Rolling Stone promoting his film “Napoleon,” Scott was asked if artificial intelligence worried him, and the answer was an emphatic yes. “We have to lock down AI. And I don’t know how you’re gonna lock it down,” he told the outlet. “They have these discussions in the government, ‘How are we gonna lock down AI?’ Are you f—ing kidding? You’re never gonna lock it down. Once it’s out, it’s out.”  He continued, “If I’m designing AI, I’m going to design a computer whose first job is to design another computer that’s cleverer than the first one. And when they get together, then you’re in trouble, because then it can take over the whole electrical-monetary system in the world and switch it off. That’s your first disaster. It’s a technical hydrogen bomb. Think about what that would mean.” WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)? Scott also compared his concerns to his film “Blade Runner,” which starred Harrison Ford in a futuristic Los Angeles tracking down humanoid replicants. “I always thought the world would end up being run by two corporations, and I think we’re headed in that direction,” the 85-year-old said. “Tyrell Corp in ‘Blade Runner’ probably owned 45-50% of the world, and one of his playthings was creating replication through DNA. Tyrell [played by Joe Turkel] thinks he’s god and in the first ‘Blade Runner’ has made a Nexus female. And the Nexus female will have a limited lifespan because AI will get dangerous.” CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER The “Gladiator” director was also asked about AI in relation to the recent Hollywood strikes, where use of the technology was a key sticking point in negotiations.  “They really have to not allow this, and I don’t know how you can control it,” he said. He added, “There’s something non-creative about data. You’re gonna get a painting created by a computer, but I like to believe – and I’m saying this without confidence – it won’t work with anything particularly special that requires emotion or soul. With that said, I’m still worried about it.” LIKE WHAT YOU’RE READING? Magazine 2023 Innovator Awards. Louis-Dreyfus continued, “Reflecting on this milestone, I am reminded of the unwavering support of my family and the unyielding dedication of my team that has been the driving force behind my investment strategies and my performances in ‘Erin Brokovich,’ ‘Pretty Women’ and ‘Mystic Pizza.’” The former “Seinfeld” star concluded her speech, “In the end, folks, it’s the humans who do the innovating and the entertaining.”

Philadelphia bans ski masks: ‘No discernible public or private good’

Philadelphia on Thursday banned ski masks and other facial coverings in the city on the grounds that most crime there has been committed by suspects wearing them.  The vote passed 13-2 despite some opposition, per FOX 29.  “We must send a message that masks are of no discernible public or private good when they just create fear and anxiety,” Councilmember Anthony Phillips said.  DISGRUNTLED WAWA CUSTOMER IN FLORIDA ATTACKS COUPLE WITH WINE BOTTLE AFTER THEY REFUSED TO PAY FOR IT: POLICE The new law prohibits people from wearing ski masks in parks, schools, or on public transportation. Those caught wearing a ski mask risk a $250 fine — $2,000 if committing a crime.  The law allows some exceptions for religious purposes.  It has seen broad support from law enforcement. Opponents, such as the ACLU, have argued that it could violate free expression rights and unfairly target youths.  The bill now goes to Mayor James Kenney’s desk for his signature.

‘Dead’ woman found to be still alive in body bag at morgue: reports

'Dead' woman found to be still alive in body bag at morgue: reports

A crematorium worker in Brazil got a shocking surprise after finding a 90-year-old woman still alive inside a body bag after she was pronounced dead, according to reports. According to the Estadão, a Brazilian news source, the whole ordeal began on Saturday in the city of São José, just hours after hospital staff pronounced Norma Silveira da Silva dead. The 90-year-old was then placed into a body bag and sent to the morgue for preservation. Once the crematorium discovered the woman was still alive, she was sent back to the hospital and readmitted in what reports say was very poor condition.  TAYLOR SWIFT’S ERAS TOUR LINKED TO UNFORTUNATE CIRCUMSTANCES IN RIO, INCLUDING FAN DEATHS AND DANGEROUS HEAT The caregiver for the woman, Jéssica Silvi Pereira, told Estadão that the woman was admitted to the hospital in very poor health on Friday, and by Saturday evening, she and the woman’s son were notified that she had died.  Pereira stated that her friend’s body was quickly sent off to the morgue without even allowing her loved ones a moment to see her and say goodbye.  According to the death certificate, which was issued by the hospital, it stated that Norma Silveira da Silva had died from a “urinary tract infection”. JOHN TRAVOLTA RECALLS NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCE WHILE PILOTING AIRPLANE: ‘I THOUGHT IT WAS OVER’ When the crematorium worker gained access to the body, he allegedly told Pereira that he was surprised because her body still felt warm and, based on the time of death, it should have been colder. He added that when he lifted the woman, her arm shouldn’t have fallen, which he said was a sign that her body was not yet in rigor mortis.  Pereira said her friend had spent nearly two hours inside the sealed bag and “almost suffocating to death.” According to reports, it was not immediately clear if da Silva ultimately died from not receiving medical treatment in time or another underlying condition. TAKING SELFIES IS NOW CONSIDERED A ‘PUBLIC HEALTH PROBLEM,’ REQUIRES ‘SAFETY MESSAGING,’ SAY RESEARCHERS She was pronounced dead early Monday morning and according to her second death certificate, the cause of death was listed as “septic shock.”  The Regional Council of Medicine of the State of Santa Catarina stated that it “has become aware of the situation and will establish appropriate procedures to monitor the case” and that an investigation is ongoing.  Pereira said the patient’s family is planning to sue the hospital for the incident. “It’s a neglect that I wouldn’t wish on anyone,” Pereria said.

White House quietly walks back Biden’s comment on adding conditions for sending assistance to Israel

White House quietly walks back Biden's comment on adding conditions for sending assistance to Israel

The White House is not seeking to place conditions on U.S. military assistance to Israel, the White House clarified this week, despite President Biden suggesting days earlier that the U.S. would consider doing so. Several Democrats have pushed conditions as the civilian death toll in Gaza from Israel’s war against Hamas climbed but national security adviser Jake Sullivan told lawmakers on Tuesday that the White House is not seeking any conditionality. Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., who was among a group of about a dozen senators who met privately with Sullivan on Tuesday, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Sullivan “made it clear that the White House is not asking for any conditionality in aid. So I want to leave that very clear.” Last week, Biden told reporters that conditioning military aid to Israel was a “worthwhile thought” and suggested that had he intervened in negotiations by doing so, it would have been more difficult to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas. HAMAS TERRORISTS ELIMINATED AFTER JERUSALEM SHOOTING LEAVES 3 DEAD, 11 WOUNDED, ISRAELI POLICE SAY Sullivan’s clarification is the second time this week that the White House has appeared to walk back Biden’s comment on possibly conditioning future Israel military aid. On Monday, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby was directly asked if Biden was considering conditioning aid and what the president meant by a “worthwhile thought.” “What he also said, right after acknowledging that it was ‘a worthwhile thought,’ was that the approach he has chosen to take so far has produced results and outcomes,” Kirby said. DEM SENATORS TELL WHITE HOUSE ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE TO ISRAEL ‘MUST BE CONSISTENT WITH OUR INTERESTS’ He added: “The approach that we’re taking with Israel and, quite frankly, with our partners in the region is working. It’s getting aid to people that need it. It’s getting a pause in the fighting. It’s getting hostages out. It’s getting Americans out.” During the virtual meeting, Sullivan shared how the Biden administration would continue sending aid and assistance to Israel after its current cease-fire agreement ends with Hamas in Gaza. The meeting was held via a teleconference in which Sullivan was at the White House and senators were in a classified room on Capitol Hill. After the meeting, Van Hollen was joined by two other senators – Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, and Armed Services Committee Chairman Jack Reed, D-R.I. – in asking President Biden to share his position and views publicly Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said his country intends to continue its ground offensive from northern to southern Gaza when the current cease-fire ends. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

ESPN star on College Football Playoff Committee's job: 'Put the best f---ing four teams in the game'

The College Football Playoff Committee could have a chaos scenario on their hands if an undefeated team should go down during the conference championship weekend. How artificial intelligence is changing health care in treating stroke victims

How artificial intelligence is changing health care in treating stroke victims

I am a neurosurgeon who specializes in the treatment of acute strokes, brain bleeds, and tumors. Every second counts for my patients, and I am determined to help as many as I can. This Thanksgiving dinner, I left my family to operate on a patient with a life-threatening stroke. This is what you need to know about strokes and how artificial intelligence is helping surgeons like me save even more patients. Stroke is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide and has remained a formidable challenge in the realm of health care.  WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)? Not only does stroke rob us of our loved ones and shatter families, the impact of stroke from a socioeconomic perspective is also staggering. The CDC estimates that between 2018 and 2019, the economic burden of stroke in the U.S. rose to approximately $56.5 billion.  I have witnessed many advances in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with stroke with glacial progress over the years. However, with the advent of artificial intelligence (AI), we have a new powerful ally. Many of the AI tools physicians employ have drastically improved the fight against stroke, yet there is no substitute for the human element. “Time is brain” is the rallying cry for health care teams treating stroke victims. It is not coincidence that we use the acronym FAST, which stands for Face drooping, Arm/leg weakness, Speech difficulty, and Time to remind people of the signs of a stroke and to seek immediate medical assistance.  When I received the emergency stroke call this Thanksgiving, I sprang into action and left my home in a flurry, passing the baton of turkey carving to my eldest son. Why the urgency? Because early intervention is crucial for patient outcomes.  While Thanksgiving dinner is my favorite family tradition, this patient needed help fast. Within minutes, the team and I brought the patient to the operating room to restore blood flow to his brain. His symptoms began to improve immediately. TALK THERAPY? AI MAY DETECT ‘EARLIEST SYMPTOMS’ OF DEMENTIA BY ANALYZING SPEECH PATTERNS By coupling what we have already learned and developed, AI algorithms have demonstrated remarkable capabilities in expediting successful treatment. AI can analyze brain scans, such as computed tomography (CT) to not only detect the presence of a stroke but also classify its type.  The ability to make such critical differentiations helps guide physicians and nurses to select the most appropriate course of action, whether it be administering clot-busting medications, performing a lifesaving intervention by retrieving the blood clot out of vessels, or preparing for open brain surgery. Moreover, AI assists in predicting the response to these specific interventions. This level of precision marks a significant departure from the one-size-fits-all approach, heralding a new era in stroke care where treatments are as unique as the patients themselves. This means, unfortunately, there are times I need to discuss with families that despite all our current neurosurgical advances, there are no effective interventions to be offered. AI BABIES: NEW TECHNOLOGY IS HELPING FERTILITY DOCS CHOOSE THE BEST EMBRYOS FOR IVF While there is no question that AI has propelled effective treatment for patients with stroke, there are certainly some limitations. It is not uncommon that given constraints of medical imaging, the AI algorithm may interpret the data incorrectly. Not only have I been involved in cases where AI has indicated surgery should be performed when objectively there was nothing to operate upon, the opposite scenario also arises. It is a precarious situation to call a team for emergency surgery when the AI platform instructs no intervention is required.  As a neurosurgeon, I am too familiar with the anxiety created when AI recommends no intervention, yet surgery is the best chance of salvation for the patient. Imagine the captain of a large commercial airplane performing an emergency maneuver against the recommendations of the flight AI, knowing that hundreds of passengers’ lives onboard hang in the balance. Decades of training and experience along with the degree of self-assurance required for these moments is surreal. CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINION Ethical considerations surrounding patient privacy and data security from using AI algorithms also require careful attention. Many of the AI platforms used in the treatment of acute stroke require a third-party software program outside of the hospital. In this world of malicious cyber-attacks committed against hospitals by terrorists aiming for financial gain, it is essential that patient data transfer is completely protected. Ensuring responsible use of AI in stroke care is essential. The synergy between AI and physicians, nurses and physical therapists involved in stroke care is poised for further advancements. I am personally excited to witness how AI technologies become more integrated into the health care ecosystem, and how AI can facilitate, not replace, the human element.  We must remember that, at the end of the day, we are humans treating other humans, not simply programs analyzing algorithmic equations. Before I left my home on this Thanksgiving to treat the patient suffering a stroke, I reminded my boys that while I needed to leave, I would come home. And as promised, I returned home late in the evening. My boys and my wife sat with me and together we enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Once again, I was thankful for my beautiful, healthy family.  CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM DR. PAUL SAPHIER

JESSE WATTERS: Kamala just called every Democrat mayor a 'liar' regarding migrants

No way she’s going to say the right thing. But after all that prep time and rest, the VP still wasn’t ready for the most obvious question about migrants of all time.  …. That’s right. Kamala just called every Democrat mayor a liar. I wonder what the next question will be. It’s got to be something about Joe’s age, and she has to have a better answer this time. Tell me she has a better answer.  The media just asked the vice president if the president’s brain-dead,, would you tell us? And Kamala said, Of course, I’d tell you if he’s brain-dead. But don’t worry, you know, I will let you guys know.  That’s where we are in this country. Kamala is promising the press if something goes wrong with Biden, she won’t hide it. And then Kamala says she’d get better press if she were a White man.

JPMorgan Chase CEO backing of Haley as Trump alternative draws fire from GOP rivals

JPMorgan Chase CEO backing of Haley as Trump alternative draws fire from GOP rivals

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon on Wednesday urged Democrats to back GOP presidential hopeful Nikki Haley as an alternative to frontrunner Donald Trump — the latest Wall Street backing for Haley which has drawn criticism from her primary rivals. “If you’re a very liberal Democrat, I urge you to help Nikki Haley, too. Give them a choice on the Republican side that might be better than Trump,” Dimon said at the 2023 DealBook Summit, according to Politico. Haley has been gaining significant ground in the GOP primary polls in recent weeks, although she and others remain well behind former President Trump. She has leapfrogged DeSantis for second place in New Hampshire and in her home state, which holds the first southern contest.  HALEY, BOLSTERED BY THE BACKING OF A MAJOR CONSERVATIVE GROUP, IS HAVING A MOMENT ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL  And she’s drawn even with DeSantis in some of the latest polls in Iowa, whose caucuses kick off the GOP nominating calendar on Jan. 15. Haley has been boosted by some major backing in recent weeks in addition to the support from Dimon. On Wednesday she scored the endorsement of Americans for Prosperity Action, the political wing of the influential and deep-pocketed fiscally conservative network founded by the billionaire Koch Brothers. AFP Action has pledged to spend tens of millions of dollars and mobilize its formidable grassroots operation to help push the Republican Party past Trump. Earlier this month, the Wall Street Journal reported how major Wall Street backers are lining up to support her, with the outlet reporting that admirers include the CEO of Morgan Stanley and BlackRock’s Larry Fink. “If she passes DeSantis, she’s the backup,” one financier told the outlet, arguing that with Trump’s court cases looming “it’s not completely crazy that she could ultimately win.” BIG BOOST: HALEY LANDS THE BACKING OF A CONSERVATIVE GRASSROOTS ARMY But the support could be a double-edged sword for Haley in a primary atmosphere that is more skeptical of big business than in past primaries, with her rivals keen to use the endorsements from Wall Street and elsewhere as a way to attack her conservative credentials. “Wondering why Wall Street execs, Blackrock, and the Koch Network are all supporting Nikki Haley?” the “DeSantis War Room” posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, linking to a video highlighting what it presented as liberal positions on immigration, fuel taxes and calls for restrictions on social media.  “Jamie Dimon Urges Even Liberals to Back Nikki ‘Birdbrain’ Haley as Alternative to Trump,” Team Trump said on X. Meanwhile, Dimon also addressed the possibility that Trump could be president, when asked if he’d support “anything but Trump.” “I would never say. He might be the president, I have to live with that too,” he said.

West Virginia county secures $500,000 settlement in lawsuit over chemical spill

A $500,000 settlement has been reached in a lawsuit over truck crash that sent a chemical into a West Virginia creek, according to a published report. WEST VIRGINIA TRUCKING COMPANY SUED OVER CHEMICAL SPILL INTO CREEK The Kanawha County Commission will get half of that and will decide how to spend it in future meetings, the Charleston Gazette-Mail reported. Commissioner Lance Wheeler said part of the total will go toward recouping taxpayer costs of litigation and testing. The county sued a trucking company and the driver over the spill last year that dumped 3,000 gallons of the material into a tributary of Paint Creek, killing more than 30,000 fish. The chemical involved is a compound commonly used in cleaning detergents. The spill occurred on the West Virginia Turnpike near Pax.
