WWII veteran, 95, still works out at local gym every week: 'I'm in control'

There’s no excuse for skipping the gym when America’s veterans are still getting after it.David Scott, a 95-year-old World War II veteran from Dover, New Hampshire, still works out at his local Planet Fitness every week.In an interview with Fox News Digital, Scott emphasized the importance of exercising regularly and taking advantage of the ability to move your body.LIFE EXPECTANCY IN HUMANS NOT LIKELY TO INCREASE MUCH MORE, STUDY SUGGESTS”It makes me feel good,” he said. “Like I’m in control of my body and my muscles understand that I’m in control.”Every other day, Scott completes a 30-minute, full-body workout at Planet Fitness, using a series of machines to target his shoulders, legs and stomach. The veteran’s advice to younger people looking to incorporate physical activity is to “just do it” at least three times a week.TO REDUCE DEMENTIA RISK, SENIORS SHOULD TAKE UP THIS OUTDOOR ACTIVITY, STUDY SUGGESTS”You’ll feel better if you do it,” he said. “It helps your balance as well as your muscle tone.”In 1945, Scott joined the U.S. Army at 17 years old, just one day before WWII came to an end.He has fond memories of his time at Fort Dix in New Jersey, noting that he served with a “very tough group.””And a very, very friendly group,” he said. “I enjoyed it very much.”For more Health articles, visit foxnews.com/healthWith his G.I. Trump counters Harris media blitz by ripping Bob Woodward, Howard Stern and her hurricane briefing

Trump counters Harris media blitz by ripping Bob Woodward, Howard Stern and her hurricane briefing

On one point, at least, the Kremlin has sided with Bob Woodward against Donald Trump.Woodward is coming out with a new book, and among its headline-making disclosures is his report on what happened when the pandemic struck, when the death toll was soaring and people could not get home testing kits for Covid-19.FROM KISSY-FACE SITDOWN ON ‘THE VIEW’ TO A TOUGHER GRILLING ON ‘60 MINUTES,’ KAMALA HARRIS IS MAKING NEWSPresident Trump, at that point in 2020, secretly sent Vladimir Putin a number of Abbott Point of Care Covid test machines “for his personal use.”The Trump campaign said Woodward’s book, an advance copy of which was obtained by CNN, consisted entirely of made-up stories. But Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov confirmed the receipt of the Covid machines.”As for the tests, when the pandemic began, countries did not have enough equipment,” Peskov said. “And many countries then exchanged such gestures of support and sent each other shipments of various equipment they had.” In fact, during that spring of 2020, Russia sent the Trump administration 60 tons of medical equipment.Woodward also quotes the Russian dictator as telling Trump: “I don’t want you to tell anybody because people will get mad at you, not me. They don’t care about me.”KAMALA 2.0’S CHALLENGE? MAKING MORE NEWS, AND NOT JUST WITH ULTRA-FRIENDLY HOSTSBut Peskov disputed another assertion by Woodward, that Trump has stayed in touch with Putin since he left the White House, with as many as seven calls between them. “As for the calls, that’s a lie,” Peskov said.  In the book “War,” however, the Washington Post sleuth recounts a scene where Trump tells a top aide to leave the room so “he could have what he said was a private phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.” Trump officials now say they’re not aware of any such conversations. The former president granted Woodward 18 taped interviews for his previous book, but they had a falling out after the veteran reporter wrote that Trump was unfit for office – and was sued by his subject for releasing the recordings.I know Woodward’s work extremely well, and while any journalist can be misled by sources, he does not make things up.Other parts of the book deal with Joe Biden confronting Putin about the coming invasion of Ukraine, had Kamala Harris warn a skeptical Volodomyr Zelenskyy, and – with officials assuming a 50 percent chance that he might use a tactical nuclear weapon against the Ukrainians, called the Kremlin boss the “epitome of evil.”  The president repeatedly cursed out Bibi Netanyahu, calling him an SOB and, later, a “f***ing liar” after the Israeli prime minister invaded the crowded area called Rafah despite American pressure.WHY VANCE EASILY BEAT WALZ IN DEBATE, SOFTENING HIS IMAGE IN THE PROCESSIn the statement from Trump’s spokesman, which sounds like it was dictated by the boss, Woodward is described as “a truly demented and deranged man who suffers from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Woodward is an angry, little man and is clearly upset because President Trump is successfully suing him because of the unauthorized publishing of recordings he made previously. President Trump gave him absolutely no access for this trash book that either belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section of a discount bookstore or used as toilet tissue. Woodward is a total sleazebag who has lost it mentally, and he’s slow, lethargic, incompetent and overall a boring person with no personality.”Why stop there?Trump, who prides himself on being a counter-puncher, wastes little time before swinging away. After Harris’ friendly radio interview with Howard Stern, who said it would be insanity to vote for Trump, this post appeared on Truth Social:”BETA MALE Howard Stern made a fool of himself on his low-rated radio show when he ‘interviewed’ Lyin’ Kamala Harris, and hit her with so many SOFTBALL questions that even she was embarrassed.”He looked like a real fool, working so hard to make a totally incompetent and ill-equipped person look as good as possible, which wasn’t very good. I dropped Howard a long time ago, like most others, and have since been credited with very good judgment!” Donald and Howard were, of course, once New York pals, and Trump attended his wedding. Trump also had campaign manager Chris LaCivita take a swipe at Fox News for covering (along with other networks) a government briefing, featuring both Biden and Harris, on Hurricane Milton as the monster storm was heading toward Florida. “@FoxNews ⁩just as bad as every other ‘cable news’ network …running literally propaganda and @KamalaHarris ⁩TV ads disguised as a news conference,” Chris LaCivita posted on X. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPOf course there’s a political benefit for Harris showing that she and FEMA are working hard to prepare for the Florida storm, just as there is when Ron DeSantis holds a presser on the Category 5 threat. But with Kamala’s media blitz finally making some news after weeks in which Trump has dominated the campaign coverage, this reflects his determination to insert himself into every story that surfaces, no matter how negative.

Justin Bieber song about ‘Diddy party’ raises questions about its origin

Justin Bieber song about 'Diddy party' raises questions about its origin

A new song that sounds like it was released by Justin Bieber, with lyrics mentioning being at a “Diddy party,” has gone viral on social media, sparking questions about its authenticity. It first appeared on social media platforms like TikTok, X and YouTube in April but racked up even more views since the arrest of embattled rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs. The lyrics include, “Lost myself at a Diddy party/Didn’t know that’s how it’d go/I was in it for a new Ferrari/But it cost me way more than my soul.”Another line mentions, “Signed a paper so he never has to ever say sorry.”DIDDY TELLS JUSTIN BIEBER NOT TO TALK ABOUT ‘THINGS HE DOES WITH BIG BROTHER PUFF’ IN RESURFACED CLIPRepresentatives for Bieber did not respond to a request for comment about the song, but several experts agree the tune is more than likely created with AI or other digital tools.AI expert Marva Bailer told Fox News Digital, “The reason why this is generated is because it is not something that’s being publicized by the artist. And when we say ‘AI-generated,’ that can mean a lot of things. And so AI actually trains on the voice and what could be going on. It could be an AI tool, or it could be an actual digital tool. These digital music tools exist. What makes it really getting this attention is the idea of AI because it’s happening so quickly and it looks so real, and so everyone is like, it must be someone that’s using something from AI to make it look this real.”WATCH: AI EXPERT EXPLAINS WHY JUSTIN BIEBER WOULDN’T ADDRESS RUMORED FAKE SONG ABOUT DIDDYShe continued, “Part of the experience of releasing new material is the pre- and post-part of the experience and that digital engagement. So right away we know that this is not real if the artist is not excited about it and hasn’t told us about it. We like surprises, and you see a lot of gamification to find out what’s in the vault, and what’s the new song going to be, and what’s the hidden track. We haven’t seen this with this scenario, and that’s why the fans are saying this is not my Justin Bieber.” “It’s very difficult to tell, but I think the fact that it seemed very on point and topical, it almost felt too coincidental that it would show up,” said Rob Rosenberg, founder and principal of Telluride Legal Strategies.WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?CBS reported that they ran the song “through multiple AI audio detection tools; several results indicated the audio, or at least parts of it, were likely AI-generated.”On a technical level, experts at Pindrop, a voice authentication and security company that has been heavily involved in the banking industry since 2011 but recently expanded its technology into detecting AI-generated deepfakes, told Fox News Digital there are certain tells that mark the song as AI-generated.”When we speak, our speech is in a specific frequency range. And what we’ve noticed is that these AI generation systems, they sound really good, but they actually don’t match the way we speak to the exact frequencies like a normal human being. And so we’re able to detect these sort of like frequency variability in AI-generated speaking,” said Sarosh Shahbuddin, senior director of product at Pindrop.Elie Khoury, Ph.D. and VP of research, further explained there are three main categories of these artifacts, including acoustic, phonetic and temporal inconsistency, and the “digital fingerprint” of the model that generated the AI.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERShahbuddin also pointed out that their own technology is often coupled with independent fact-checking to determine if an image or piece of audio is made with AI.Pindrop has more recently entered the social media space with the Pindrop Pulse tool, and Shahbuddin and Khoury said they’re seeing a “massive uptick” in people checking for deepfakes, with 10,000 “suspicious files” a month entered on their site.WATCH: LEGAL EXPERT EXPLAINS WHY PEOPLE NEED TO BE WARY OF DEEPFAKES AS DIDDY TRIAL GEARS UPThey noted that “the distribution of the media files that we labeled as synthetic versus not synthetic, it’s quite large, and it is alarming” thanks in part to the open-source tools available to the public to create deepfakes. “There’s very little that can be done to stop the use of those models. It’s crazy,” Shahbuddin said.LAWYER FOR ‘DIDDY’ ACCUSER HAS ‘NO DOUBT’ CELEBRITY FRIENDS ARE ‘SCRUBBING’ SOCIAL MEDIA AFTER INDICTMENTApart from the question of the content featured in the song, there’s also the financial implications of ongoing deepfakes for Bieber and other artists. “The [point] of TikTok is, you make your fun little creations, and you put cartoons and talking heads and fun new creations, and people are using this as the background music for these new creations. And so it keeps going on and on and on. And normally, if that was a licensed song, every time one of those creations would play, you would get royalties. And then this whole world, nobody’s getting any royalties,” Bailer said.”These social platforms are going to start to see music-related deepfakes as a very different category of media versus political or other types of deepfakes,” Shahbuddin explained. “And the reason is is that there are labels and sort of organizations that own the licenses to these singers and artists, and that impacts the way that royalty is distributed to these artists. So these singing deepfakes are actually a new class where there’s a significant revenue impact. And I think the platforms like YouTube are going to start to take this far more seriously than non-singing or music-related deepfakes.”He added, “Imagine if this person who created this deepfake actually submitted it as a song on Spotify and then got thousands of streams. That is money that goes to somebody where they you know that money does not belong to that person.”LIKE WHAT YOU’RE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSEven with money on the line, Bailer said Bieber isn’t going to bother addressing the deepfake for a few reasons.”Bieber is not addressing it because he has millions of followers on Instagram, and he even [reportedly] gets paid close to $2 million to do a post on Instagram,” she said. “So if his PR team addressed every unauthorized remake of his music, that would be all that they would be doing. And by the way, he just had a child three months ago, so he’s busy with his family. Him and his PR team, they don’t want to put unwanted attention on people that are trying to harm his brand. And you also could argue, are they harming his brand?”WATCH: VOICE AUTHENTICATION EXPERTS EXPLAIN WHY AI DEEPFAKES WILL FINANCIALLY IMPACT MUSICIANSSince Combs’ arrest and charges, Bieber’s past friendship with the disgraced mogul has been under the microscope, along with other celebrities, with fans scrutinizing resurfaced videos of the two interacting. But Rosenberg advises people to be cautious with each new piece of media that arises as the allegations against Combs go to trial.”I actually think we’re going to see a lot more new information come to light, and I think at the same time that’s happening, there’s going to be new disinformation,” he said. “There’s going to be deepfakes, people who are exercising all their creative juices and creating images and video and stories, which is why people are really going to have to scrutinize the things that they see and they find to make sure they’re not just being messed around with.”

Yankees star hits at Royals fans who jeered him for calling team lucky: ‘Ain’t never seen nobody boo a bum'

Jazz Chisholm Jr. was Public Enemy No. 1 in Kansas City on Wednesday. The New York Yankees star infielder gave the Royals some bulletin board material earlier this week when he called them “lucky” for winning Game 2 of the ALDS.Ultimately, there wasn’t enough motivation for the Royals, as they lost Game 3 on Wednesday, but beforehand, the fans let their voices be heard.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMAs Chisholm was introduced pregame, the boos were extremely loud, and Chisholm didn’t mind it one bit.In fact, he mouthed, “I love it. I love it.”Chisholm was asked about the boos after the Yanks’ 3-2 win, and he clearly was unphased.”I ain’t never seen nobody boo a bum,” the one-time All-Star said.”That’s good for the playoffs, to have a little bit of that,” added manager Aaron Boone. “Made for a little better environment.” FRANCISCO LINDOR’S GRAND SLAM LIFTS METS INTO NLCS AS MAGICAL RIDE CONTINUESEven after a Royals player posted on X to not “celebrate too early”, Chisholm replied that he wanted to “speak this s— into existence.”Chisholm was confident that the Royals “got lucky” after the Yankees hit into some tough luck outs in Game 2 – however, he did go 0-for-4 in the Yanks’ 3-2 win on Wednesday. The Yankees were carried by Giancarlo Stanton on Wednesday, who drove in two runs, including the game-winner. The slugger blasted a towering solo home run in the eighth inning that put the Yankees up for good, and Luke Weaver recorded the five-out save.Game 4 is Thursday night in Kauffman Stadium, where, after an 0-for-4 night for Chisholm, combined with being one loss away from elimination, the Royals fans will surely be loud once more.Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Hurricane Milton makes landfall, slamming into Florida with destructive winds, catastrophic storm surge

Hurricane Milton makes landfall, slamming into Florida with destructive winds, catastrophic storm surge

Hurricane Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm with 120 mph winds on Wednesday near Siesta Key, Florida, slamming into the state’s west coast before churning its way eastward.During an appearance on Fox Weather, St. Lucie County Sheriff Keith Pearson confirmed there have been 17 tornadoes along with several fatalities. “We can confirm 17 tornadoes hit St. Lucie County, Florida, with multiple fatalities, a rescue mission ongoing, and hundreds of homes destroyed,” he said. The catastrophic landfall comes barely two weeks after Hurricane Helene, which battered Florida before causing devastation in North Carolina. Florida residents have spent the interim boarding up windows and evacuating their homes in preparation for Milton.”Milton has the potential to be one of the most destructive hurricanes on record for west-central Florida,” the National Hurricane Center said Wednesday.FEMA HEAD DENIES AGENCY IS SHORT ON MONEY FOR DISASTER RELIEF BECAUSE FUNDS WENT TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTSThe storm is expected to pass over central Florida and into the Atlantic through Wednesday night and into Thursday morning. As of 11 p.m., power was out for 1.8 million customers, with roughly 300,000 customers losing power in one hour.Milton poses a threat of a historically deep storm surge, as well as wind gusts well over 100 mph over the next 36 hours. Storm surge forecasts along the central western coast are predicting 10 to 15 feet of water topped with devastating waves driven by hurricane-force winds, according to FOX Weather.HURRICANE MILTON LEADS TO CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS BEING AIRLIFTED TO SAFETY”Yes, you might have ‘been through hurricanes before,'” FOX Weather Hurricane Specialist Bryan Norcross said. “But you weren’t through the 1921 storm that put water over much of Pinellas County, or the 1848 hurricane that put 15 feet of Gulf water where downtown Tampa is today.”Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has activated thousands of National Guard members who are standing by to conduct search and rescue following the storm. President Biden’s administration has also pre-deployed resources and hundreds of personnel.Biden declared Florida a disaster area ahead of Milton’s landfall to facilitate FEMA’s preparations and response.RYAN SERHANT WARNS FLORIDA’S INSURANCE MESS IS ‘ONE OF THE GREATEST CRISES PEOPLE WILL SEE’The National Hurricane Center in Miami warned early Wednesday evening that the northern eyewall of Hurricane Milton had started to spread onshore along the Florida Gulf Coast, and told residents to “shelter in place as these extremely dangerous hurricane-force winds overspread the region.”Public Safety Information Manager for Florida’s Incident Support Team James Lucas warned that weather conditions will prevent rescuers from saving lives as Hurricane Milton makes landfall and wallops the state.”Weather conditions will deteriorate so rapidly that rescue workers cannot get in,” Lucas told Fox News Digital’s Gabriele Regalbuto. “That means that law enforcement officers are not going to be able to respond to any emergencies … as the storm is pushing through at 100 mph.”Lucas said the life safety of first responders and citizens is paramount.”We’re not going to be able to make it into those affected areas during the storm,” Lucas said. “That’s why the Mayor of Tampa, the Governor of Florida is asking people in those areas to evacuate.”
