As Hurricane Milton barrels toward the west coast of Florida, residents in Siesta Key are dealing with back-to-back storms after 45 years of “good luck.”On Wednesday afternoon, Milton was a Category 3 storm and was expected to make landfall late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning near Tampa, Florida.Hurricane Helene battered the area late last month, and many residents were beginning to pick up the remaining pieces of their lives when Milton formed in the Gulf of Mexico.FOX 13 in Tampa spoke with Fred Schuh, who, along with his wife, built a home on Siesta Key, where they raised their kids and created a life of memories.HURRICANE CHASER IN FLORIDA SAYS MILTON PROMPTED ‘RACE’ FOR RESIDENTS TO EVACUATESchuh’s home was nearly destroyed during Helene, and images shot by the station showed the water level outside the home had reached about a third of the way up the front door, just below the door knob.A line along the perimeter of the home roughly knee-high left a reminder of how high the water level was inside.AS HURRICANE MILTON THREATENS FLORIDA, FOOD AND DRINK ESSENTIALS FOR HUNKERING DOWN DURING THE STORMWhile a dumpster sits in the front yard of Schuh’s home for destroyed possessions and memories, a new storm is approaching and expected to cause even more damage.With so many unknowns, Schuh is not sure what will happen to his home during Hurricane Milton. A tree could fall on his house, or he could get 5-6 feet of water inside.HURRICANE MILTON EVACUATIONS IN FLORIDA: WHAT TO PACK AHEAD OF THE STORM”We only had three the first time, but probably, I expect because of this surge in the way it’s coming in to be higher,” he told the station.As Fred grabbed a few of his belongings and secured the house for round two, he also put the process of recovering from the first round on hold.”What are you going to do? It’s Mother Nature,” he said. “We had 45-plus years of good luck. I never would have thought it would go away in two weeks after all that time. But that’s just the way it goes.”HURRICANE MILTON TO INTENSIFY AND SWELL IN SIZE BEFORE UNLEASHING ON FLORIDAVenice Police Chief Charlie Thorpe warned residents in his community south of Sarasota to prepare now.”This is going to be a significant, significant storm,” the chief said. “I’ve told people many times in many meetings. We were hit by Ian, not hammered. This will be a hammer, I feel like, in this circumstance.”Thorpe told FOX 13 he worries some people may not take the warning seriously, like when Helene hit the area two weeks ago and officers were called to rescue people who did not evacuate.”I’m really concerned that some people that are in mobile home parks that may have felt like, ‘Hey, we got through Ian,’ are not going to be the same in my mind, in this case, and especially close to the shoreline.”

The NFL is investigating Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens for wearing an accessory that isn’t allowed, according to ESPN. Pickens appeared to have eye black with an explicit message when shown up close during the “Sunday Night Football” broadcast. The phrase “Open F—ing Always” appeared to be written in silver or white across his eye black. The explicit message is enough for the league to investigate.All messages on any part of a uniform must be approved before a player takes the field. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe NFL prohibits players from “wearing, displaying or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the League office.”Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was asked about Pickens’ message on his eye black, and he said, “I don’t know what messaging you’re talking about,” according to ESPN. COWBOYS’ JOURDAN LEWIS BLASTS GEORGE PICKENS AFTER STEELERS STAR GRABS HIS FACEMASK IN LOSS: ‘WEAK’Fines will be released Saturday, which would include Pickens’ violation if he is found guilty of breaking the NFL’s messaging rule. On the field, Pickens also pulled the face mask of Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis after the final whistle blew in Pittsburgh’s 20-17 to Dallas. Lewis appeared to say something to Pickens. Pickens took exception and grabbed Lewis’ face mask.Lewis was spotted calling Pickens “weak” as he walked into the Acrisure Stadium tunnel toward the road locker room, adding that the Steelers need to find another receiver. Pickens’ snap count was a topic of discussion during the game. Tomlin said Pickens was playing with “snap management” restrictions during a game in which he had just three catches for 26 yards. Pickens played just 34 snaps, the lowest count of his career. Pickens’ effort has also been questioned.This season, Pickens has caught 23 passes for 310 yards in five games. MARIETTA, Ga. – Americans living in the Atlanta suburbs appear to have little appetite for another primetime match-up between former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.”If you don’t know them by now, there ain’t no hope,” one man who declined to give his name told Fox News Digital in Acworth, Georgia, last week.There is less than a month left until Election Day, and Georgia residents are bracing for early voting to begin in their state next week.The Peach State is in play this election after President Biden flipped it blue for the first time in years during the 2020 race, winning over Trump by less than 1%.GEORGIA GOP CHAIR SHARES 2-PRONGED ELECTION STRATEGY AS TRUMP WORKS TO WIN BACK PEACH STATEA not insignificant amount of that support came from Cobb County, Georgia, where Biden won by an even wider margin than he did statewide.And like Biden and Trump in 2020, the ex-president and Harris have only had one debate.Trump has refused to participate in a second one, while Harris and her allies are eager for another head-to-head.But people in Cobb County who spoke with Fox News Digital seemed unenthusiastic about the prospect of a second debate.”I really don’t think so,” Howard Segan, who spoke with Fox News Digital outside of a Marietta Whole Foods, answered when asked if Americans needed another debate. “I don’t think Trump is a very good debater at all. And I think [Harris is] an empty suit.”Another man who identified himself as Scott noted his grandfather was involved in politics and suggested he himself was disenchanted with its pageantry at an early age.SPEAKER JOHNSON RIPS ‘LACK OF LEADERSHIP’ IN BIDEN ADMIN’S HELENE RESPONSE: ‘ALARMED AND DISAPPOINTED'”I realized most of it is staged anyway, so I really don’t care about the debates,” Scott said.A woman named Deb who is opposed to Harris said, “She says nothing, it’s word salad. So what’s there to debate? She can’t even answer questions.”Meanwhile, a man in Marietta named Toli said he “honestly” would like to see another debate but saw little value in the exercise.”It doesn’t really matter at this point, because people are going to have their own views, no matter what they do,” Toli said. “Maybe 20 years ago we had debates where people watched, they were riveted to the screen trying to figure out what their opinions are. But now it’s so polarized. Because of social media and everything else, people get their opinion of the candidate… every day.”Sandy, one of the few people who spoke with Fox News Digital who did want a second debate, suggested she was not excited about either of its would-be participants.FORMER REPUBLICAN US SENATOR ENDORSES KAMALA HARRIS, SAYS ELECTION OFFERS ‘STARK CHOICE'”I just think a lot of people have questions,” Sandy explained.”I mean, [Harris has] just touched the surface, and if she wants the votes, she needs to come forth with what she’s going to do, actually do.
