Jets kicker’s pre-game warmups interrupted by Vikings cheerleaders in hilarious scene

Jets kicker's pre-game warmups interrupted by Vikings cheerleaders in hilarious scene

A different kind of gamesmanship took place in London on Sunday morning as the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings played the first game overseas this 2024 NFL season. Veteran placekicker Greg Zuerlein was looking to warm up for his field goal opportunities that could come for his Jets in Week 5, and he could’ve been visualizing the distractions he would face during the contest when he stepped back to drill one through the goal posts. But it’s likely he wasn’t visualizing the Vikings’ cheerleaders as a potential distraction, but that’s exactly what transpired in the middle of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium field. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe Vikings cheerleaders were performing for the London crowd before the game, and that meant stepping right in the middle of Zuerlein’s field goal try. But, while they continued to dance in sync, Zuerlein stayed locked in and waited for a moment to still kick. VIKINGS’ 4-0 RECORD ‘MEANS NOTHING’ VS. JETS IN LONDON, SAYS KEVIN O’CONNELLHe found that time when the cheerleaders lined up in two lines with him in between. As they continued the routine, Zuerlein stepped into the football and smashed it through the uprights. Zuerlein, in Year 13 in the NFL, has likely been in this situation before as it’s common for teams to have pre-game performances to get fans hyped for the game to come. It at least looked like Zuerlein has been in this position, as he remained locked in with his pre-game routine and didn’t let it throw him off. The 37-year-old kicker is in his third season with the Jets, and he’s hit 5-of-7 field goal attempts through four games entering Sunday. He also drilled all seven of his extra-point attempts. Zuerlein has made 334 of his 403 field goal attempts over his long career in the league. He was also a Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro in 2017 with the Los Angeles Rams when he hit 38-of-40 attempts, including 6-of-7 from 50-plus yards away. Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Multiple members of Tren de Aragua (TDA) were arrested Saturday after police in Texas raided a vacant apartment complex that the violent Venezuelan gang was “in control of” and using to commit crimes, authorities said.Law enforcement agencies conducted the raid after receiving multiple complaints about narcotics violations, human trafficking and threats to apartment personnel at the complex, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus told reporters at a news conference.”We had information that members of the transnational gang Tren de Agua were in control of the area and committing various crimes,” McManus said.Authorities cleared nearly 300 vacant apartments at the complex and arrested 19 of 20 individuals taken into custody. McManus said 15 of those individuals had detainers and several had confirmed warrants. IMMIGRANT MURDER CONVICTIONS ‘TENS OF THOUSANDS’ HIGHER THAN ICE’S BOMBSHELL FIGURES: DATA EXPERTMcManus said four of those taken into custody were confirmed to be members of the transnational gang Tren de Aragua, adding that one acted as an enforcer for the violent gang. The four TDA members are currently in the custody of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the chief said. The gang was known to be operating in the area for “several months,” according to McManus, and the investigation into the illegal activity had been ongoing for weeks.IMMIGRANT MURDER CONVICTIONS ‘TENS OF THOUSANDS’ HIGHER THAN ICE’S BOMBSHELL FIGURES: DATA EXPERT”We assure the community and members of the public that we are committed to their safety and we are on top of this TDA issue that seems to have become very public lately,” the chief said.McManus told reporters that law enforcement has “other places we are going to hit” to rout out the violent gang.”We’re on to you, and we’re coming for you,” the police chief said. “We know where you are and we’re coming for you.”Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.

Anti-Israel protester lights himself on fire outside of White House

Anti-Israel protester lights himself on fire outside of White House

A photojournalist lit himself on fire outside the White House on Saturday in protest against Israel’s war in Gaza and America’s support for the regime. The man, Samuel Mena Jr., lit his left arm on fire and was seen screaming in pain and shouting that the media was spreading “misinformation.” Law enforcement officers quickly surrounded Mena and restrained him, putting out the fire. One bystander could be seen pouring a bottle of water on Mena’s arm after the flames were extinguished.A blog posted to Mena’s website shortly before the incident suggested he only intended to burn his arm.HAMAS TERRORISTS ‘SYSTEMATICALLY AND INTENTIONALLY’ COMMITTED SEXUAL VIOLENCE DURING OCT. 7 ATTACK: REPORT”To the 10 thousand children in Gaza that have lost a limb in this conflict, I give my left arm to you. I pray my voice was able to raise up yours, and that your smiles never disappear,” Mena wrote. The blog also says Mena first tried to end the “genocide” in Gaza by making a documentary. He later gave up on the effort, however, convinced that it wouldn’t make a difference.DOJ CHARGES HAMAS LEADERS OVER ‘TERRORIST ATROCITIES’ IN OCT 7 ISRAEL ATTACKMena’s social media profiles say he worked for the local CBS affiliate AZFamily and graduated from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism.Authorities transported Mena to the hospital soon after the incident and confirmed that his injuries were not life-threatening.”The District of Columbia has a long and proud history of peaceful first amendment activities and the Metropolitan Police Department handles hundreds of protests, demonstrations and other events every year,” first responders said in a statement.”We will continue to support those who choose to protest peaceful and safely, and we will continue to hold accountable those who commit criminal acts while in our city,” the added.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPThe incident comes months after a member of the U.S. Air Force set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in February. Senior Airman Aaron Bushnell, 25, also carried out the act in protest against Israel’s campaign in Gaza, saying in a recorded video that he would “no longer be complicit in genocide.”

Packers suspend Romeo Doubs after WR skipped two practices leading up to game against Rams

Packers suspend Romeo Doubs after WR skipped two practices leading up to game against Rams

Third-year wide receiver Romeo Doubs will not take the field with his Green Bay Packers teammates Sunday afternoon. The team announced that Doubs has been suspended for the Week 5 game against the Los Angeles Rams for conduct detrimental to the team. The decision comes after Doubs skipped two days of practice and meetings last week. The team previously cited unspecified personal reasons when explaining Doubs’ absence. He was initially listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game. Prior to the suspension, Packers coach Matt LaFleur said the wideout’s status was considered “day to day.”Sports Illustrated later reported that the wide receiver took issue with the number of opportunities he had within the Packers’ offense. Fox News Digital contacted the Packers for comment, but did not immediately hear back. Doubs and his representatives were not able to be reached.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM”Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend Romeo for this week’s game,” Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said in a statement. “His decisions and actions during the week negatively impacted the team and required us to take this action. While we are certainly disappointed, we are confident that we will be able to move forward in a positive manner. Romeo is a valuable member of our team and we look forward to welcoming him back next week.”VIKINGS OUTLAST PACKERS’ 4TH-QUARTER DESPERATION, DEFEAT DIVISION FOE TO REMAIN UNDEFEATEDDoubs did participate in practice on Wednesday, but he missed Thursday’s session. He then failed to report to the team facility on Friday. Doubs’ whereabouts on Saturday remain unclear, but the Packers did depart for California on that day.Doubs’ absence comes at a time when the Packers receiver group was already impacted by injury. On Friday, Christian Watson was listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game due to a sprained left ankle. Doubs is the Packers’ second-leading receiver, hauling in 12 catches for 169 yards in four games so far this season. He finished last season with eight touchdown receptions, but has yet to find his way into the end zone this year.Doubs is not the first Packers player to deal with a suspension in the past 12 months. Defensive back Jaire Alexander missed one game in December for what was also described as “conduct detrimental to the team.”Alexander returned to the team the following week after serving the one-game suspension. The Packers did not make a directly corresponding roster move following Doubs’ move to the reserved/suspended list. But the team did elevate cornerback Robert Rochell from the practice squad to the active roster. Fullback Andrew Beck also moved up from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game. The Packers fell to 2-2 after losing to the Minnesota Vikings last week. Meanwhile, the Rams have dropped three of their first four games this year.Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Elon Musk calls 2024 a ‘must-win situation’ for free speech, touts Trump’s character after being ‘under fire’

Elon Musk calls 2024 a 'must-win situation' for free speech, touts Trump's character after being 'under fire'

Elon Musk stood behind bulletproof glass as he spoke to a packed crowd of Trump rallygoers in Butler, Pennsylvania, Saturday evening.”The true test of someone’s character is how they behave under fire,” he said, donning a dark “MAGA” hat and a shirt that read, “Occupy Mars.””We had one president who couldn’t climb a flight of stairs and another who was fist pumping after getting shot,” he continued. “America is the home of the brave, and there’s no truer test than courage under fire, so who do you want representing America?”The crowd erupted, waving signs that read “Never Surrender” and “Fight, Fight, Fight” behind the stage.ELON MUSK: LA RESIDENTS RECOIL AT MENTION OF TRUMP’S NAMEThe multi-billionaire business magnate joined Former President Trump on-stage during his first return to Butler since facing an assassination attempt at the hands of 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks at the site just 12 weeks prior.Musk, who has outspokenly defended free speech, warned that next month’s Nov. 5 faceoff between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris will be the “most important election of our lifetime,” with basic freedoms that are the bedrock of democracy at stake. “This is a must-win situation,” he told the crowd of 60,000. MUSK ENERGIZES TRUMP SUPPORTERS AT BUTLER RALLY, 3 MONTHS AFTER ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON FORMER PRESIDENT”This is no ordinary election. The other side wants to take away your freedom of speech. They want to take away your right to bear arms. They want to take away your right to vote effectively. You’ve got 14 states now that don’t require voter I.D. California, where I used to live, just passed a law banning voter ID for voting. I still can’t believe that’s real. So, how are you supposed to have a good, proper election if there’s no ID? It’s meaningless.”Musk metamorphosed the Trump base’s “Fight, Fight, Fight” slogan into a call to action – “Vote, Vote, Vote” – a chant embodying his pressure on those present to “be a pest” by repeatedly telling others to get out, register and vote.”If there’s one takeaway for anything that will matter is getting those registrations and then and then getting everyone to actually vote. That is what will decide this election, especially in Pennsylvania,” he added.
