Paris Hilton speaks out about her ADHD diagnosis: ‘It’s a superpower’

Paris Hilton speaks out about her ADHD diagnosis: 'It's a superpower'

Paris Hilton opened up about being diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and how she has come to see the chronic health condition as her “superpower.”In an essay for Teen Vogue, the 43-year-old reality TV star reflected on how she struggled with the symptoms of ADHD before receiving her diagnosis later in life.”Growing up, I was always told that I was too energetic, too distracted, too talkative — just too everything,” Hilton wrote at the beginning of her op-ed.”My constant need for stimulation, paired with a school system that failed to accommodate how I naturally learn, ultimately led to my time in the Troubled Teen Industry, which was apparently meant to ‘fix’ me,” she continued.Hilton has previously spoken out about how her rebelliousness as a teenager led her parents to send her a series of residential facilities and treatment programs for children with behavioral problems, addiction struggles and mental health issues. At 17-years-old, she spent 11 months at the Provo Canyon School in Utah, where she alleged that she was sexually abused.PARIS HILTON TAKES HEAT FROM PARENTING POLICE AFTER PUTTING SON’S LIFE VEST ON INCORRECTLY: ‘OOPS’Looking back at that period of her life in her Teen Vogue essay, Hilton wrote, “I wish someone had asked, ‘What’s really going on with her?'””Instead, I spent years feeling misunderstood, punished for the way my brain worked,” she added. “It wasn’t until much later in life that I discovered what was really happening: I had ADHD.”Hilton went on to note that ADHD is often a “silent struggle” for girls and women, whose diagnoses are frequently missed according to studies. The socialite recalled that she initially felt uncertainty about how to navigate her own diagnosis.”At first, being diagnosed felt like a label — something that boxed me in, defining me by what I couldn’t do, by what made me different,” she wrote. “It’s something I used to keep hidden, worried about how it might be perceived. Would people think I was too scattered, too unfocused, or incapable of success?”She continued, “But those challenges are just one side of the coin. The other side reveals something beautiful: creativity, passion, resilience and a mind that thinks in bold, unexpected ways.””ADHD isn’t a limitation; it’s a superpower. It’s my secret weapon in a world that often tells us to play it safe.”Hilton explained that many of her personal and professional achievements were due to how ADHD affects her thought processes.LIKE WHAT YOU’RE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS”My brain doesn’t follow a straight line — it zigzags and explores uncharted territory, allowing me to break boundaries and stay ahead of the curve,” she wrote. “ADHD is the reason I’ve been able to anticipate trends, it’s given me the creativity to build an empire, the drive to keep pushing the limits, and the empathy to connect with people on a deeper level.””One of the most powerful gifts of ADHD is the ability to hyper-focus on things I am passionate about,” Hilton continued. “When I’m interested in something, I can lose myself in it completely, going deeper than most people might. This ability has been the driving force behind many of my successes because I throw myself into every detail and obsess over a project for hours, losing track of time. Because my brain thrives on newness, on bold ideas, and on innovation, I see the world as full of possibilities, and I’ve learned to embrace that energy.””But let’s be real: ADHD can also be overwhelming and exhausting because my mind is constantly buzzing with thoughts, ideas, and distractions,” “The Simple Life” alum admitted. “People often see the glamorous, successful side of me, but behind the scenes, there are days when the noise inside my head can be so loud that it’s difficult to find clarity.”Hilton shared that she has created systems and structures to help her manage her ADHD as well as surrounding herself with a supportive circle. “But even with these strategies, there are days when ADHD can feel like a storm that I have to navigate, and that’s okay,” Hilton wrote. “It’s part of the journey, and I’ve learned to give myself grace during those times.”CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERThe model addressed the stigma around ADHD and neurodivergence, which she wrote “needs to change.””We live in a world where we’re often expected to fit into boxes, to follow the rules, and to do things the way everyone else does. But my ADHD has taught me that the most magical things happen when you break free from those expectations,” she explained. “We need to stop labeling neurodivergent individuals as ‘disordered’ and start recognizing the unique gifts they bring,” Hilton added.Last month, Hilton released her album “Infinite Icon” — which was her first record since she made her musical debut with 2006’s “Paris.””Infinite Icon” features a track titled “ADHD,” which she wrote in her essay is a “celebration of my journey and a message to others that ADHD is something to be embraced, not hidden.” Hilton also noted that her nonprofit 11:11 has partnered with Understood.org and other organizations to change the stigma around ADHD and provide resources for individuals with the disorder.”I want people, especially young women, to know that being different is beautiful, and your ‘flaws’ can actually be your greatest assets. I’ve faced challenges, sure, but ADHD has given me an inner strength and confidence that nothing can take away,” Hilton wrote.”To anyone out there who feels like they’re struggling with ADHD or any other challenge, I want you to know this: you are not alone, and you are not defined by your diagnosis. Embrace your differences, because they are what makes you unstoppable.”

Vietnam veteran says he’s ‘honored’ to give Trump his Purple Heart after assassination attempt: ‘Small token’

Former President Trump on Friday met a Vietnam veteran who was inspired to give Trump his Purple Heart after an assassination attempt on Trump.”I couldn’t think of anybody more deserving of a Purple Heart,” the man, identified only as Dwight, told Trump on stage during a town hall campaign event in Fayetteville, North Carolina. “You took it. You laid down there. You got back. And the first words out of your mouth were ‘Fight, fight, fight,’” Dwight said of when Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July by a 20-year-old attempted assassin. “You didn’t even have anything to shoot back at him. You got guts. It was a minor wound, but it was close to being a terrible one.” TRUMP ON RETURN TO BUTLER, PA: TONIGHT I’M BACK IN THE AFTERMATH OF TRAGEDYTrump responded that he was “very lucky, and maybe it wasn’t so much luck. Maybe it is something else, right? Maybe there’s something else up there.” TRUMP ANNOUNCES OUTDOOR PENNSYLVANIA RALLY TO ‘FINISH OUR SPEECH’ AT SITE OF FIRST ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTEarlier in the town hall, the moderator, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., read the letter the veteran sent to Trump after the July assassination attempt on Trump.”Dear President Trump, watching you during the Butler rally, and you getting back up, both my wife and I gave a sigh of relief as well as a few tears,” Dwight’s letter said. “I would be honored if you would accept this small token I received as a young marine in Vietnam.”My wife and I both thought it appropriate. God bless you, your family, and the United States of America. Sincerely, Dwight.” “I got very lucky,” Trump responded. “And maybe it wasn’t so much luck. Maybe it is something else, right? Maybe there’s something else up there.” The moment came one day before Trump returned to Butler to hold a massive rally for the first time in the outdoor space where he was shot. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP”As I was saying,” Trump began Saturday’s rally to cheers.A Purple Heart is given to service members who have been wounded or killed in combat.

Netanyahu calls Macron, other Western leaders who support arms embargo against Israel a ‘disgrace’

Netanyahu calls Macron, other Western leaders who support arms embargo against Israel a ‘disgrace’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed French President Emmanuel Macron and other Western leaders on Saturday who he said had called for an arms embargo on Israel over its airstrikes against Hamas in Gaza. “As Israel fights the forces of barbarism led by Iran, all civilized countries should be standing firmly by Israel’s side, yet President Macron and other western leaders are now calling for arms embargoes against Israel. Shame on them, “Netanyahu said in a statement. He continued, “Is Iran imposing an arms embargo on Hezbollah, on the Houthis, on Hamas and on its other proxies? Of course not. This axis of terror stands together, but countries who supposedly oppose this terror axis call for an arms embargo on Israel.”Netanyahu called their stance a “disgrace,” adding that Israel would win “with or without their support, but their shame will continue long after the war is won.”TRUMP SAYS ISRAEL SHOULD HIT IRAN’S NUCLEAR FACILITIES, SLAMMING BIDEN’S RESPONSEHe said, “in defending ourselves against this barbarism, Israel is defending civilization against those who seek to impose a dark age of fanaticism on all of us. Rest assured, Israel will fight until the battle is won – for our sake and for the sake of peace and security in the world.”Netanyahu noted that Israel is defending itself on seven different fronts, including Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Lebanon, Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria, terrorists in Judea and Samaria and Iran. On Saturday, Macron said France would no longer supply arms to Israel, although the country will continue to send missile defense equipment.”I think that today, the priority is that we return to a political solution, that we stop delivering weapons to fight in Gaza,” Macron said in an interview, according to Euro News. Also on Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had raided and dismantled a Hezbollah underground command complex in Lebanon. “The troops entered a terror tunnel about 250 meters long, located about 300 meters from the border and not crossing into Israeli territory,” IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a press conference.FEDERAL AUTHORITIES ISSUE WARNING AHEAD OF OCT 7 ATTACKS ANNIVERSARYHe said a kitchenette and rooms that allowed for extended stays underground along with weapons and command rooms were found inside the complex. “These compounds were intended to be used by Hezbollah terrorists in an attack on the communities of the Galilee,” he said. “This tunnel did not cross into our territory, and yesterday we destroyed it.”The U.S. continues to supply Israel with arms, although President Biden has spoken out against the country’s approach to its war with Gaza where tens of thousands of civilians have died.  “I think what he’s doing is a mistake,” Biden said in August, while continuing to call for a cease-fire. “I don’t agree with his approach.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPThis week in a surprise appearance at a White House press briefing, Biden, in answering a reporter, said he wasn’t sure if Netanyahu was holding off on a cease-fire to influence the November election. “Whether he’s trying to influence the election, I don’t know – but I’m not counting on that,” Biden said. “No administration has helped Israel more than I have. None, none, none, and I think he should remember that.”

Rested Guardians blank Tigers to win ALDS Game 1

Rested Guardians blank Tigers to win ALDS Game 1

The Cleveland Guardians could not have asked for a better start in Game 1 of the ALDS Saturday. They scored five runs before the Tigers recorded an out. Despite not having played a game in a week due to a first-round bye in the wild-card round, the Guardians’ hitters did not look rusty at all. After blanking the Detroit Tigers in the top of the first inning, Guardians leadoff hitter Steven Kwan nearly left the yard for a home run, hitting a ball just off the top of the right field wall for a double to get things started. David Fry followed Kwan with a walk. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe Guardians had runners on first and second base with no one out, and they were sending their best hitter, Jose Ramirez, to the plate. Ramirez hit a chopper down the third base line that Tigers third baseman Zack McKinstry couldn’t handle, scoring Kwan on the play and giving the Guardians a 1-0 lead. Cleanup hitter Josh Naylor singled into right field in the next at-bat to plate Fry and give the Guardians a 2-0 lead. Tigers’ manager A.J. Hinch had seen enough and removed starting pitcher Tyler Holton from the game after he had not recorded an out through four batters, and Reese Olson took the mound.Olson’s first pitch after entering the game was not a good one. He threw a hanging breaking ball over the middle of the plate, and outfielder Lane Thomas clobbered it for a three-run home run, giving the Guardians a 5-0 lead.EX-MLB STAR LAMENTS LIMITATIONS ON STARTING PITCHING, INVOLVEMENT OF ‘STAT NERDS’ IN TODAY’S BASEBALLThe Tigers’ first recorded out of the first inning came on the Guardian’s seventh batter of the inning, when Jhonkensy Noel grounded out. That was all the offense the Guardians needed in a 7-0 shutout victory, holding the Tigers’ offense to just four hits.Guardians starting pitcher Tanner Bibee shut the Tigers down, scattering four hits over 4⅔ shutout innings while striking out six batters. The Guardians’ bullpen took care of the rest, using four relief pitchers to complete the shutout.Fry extended the Guardians’ lead to 7-0 with a two-run double in the sixth inning, and that is where the score remained. The Tigers will send out their ace and presumptive AL Cy Young winner, Tarik Skubal, to try and turn things around Monday after a rough Game 1.Matthew Boyd gets the start for the Guardians in Game 2 as they look to take a commanding series lead.Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
