Federal prosecutors requested an indefinite delay Wednesday in scheduling the trial for Ryan Routh, the suspect in the second assassination attempt on former President Trump, citing an enormous amount of evidence gathered since his arrest.In a filing on Wednesday, prosecutors asked Florida District Judge Aileen Cannon to officially designate Routh’s case as “complex.”Prosecutors revealed the scope of the investigation, which spanned multiple states, involved hundreds of interviews and included hundreds of digital media for review.”The government has worked diligently since September 15 to investigate the incident. Over the past two weeks, the United States has interviewed hundreds of witnesses,” the filing said. “It has also executed 13 search warrants in Florida, Hawaii, and North Carolina, and seized hundreds of items of evidence, including multiple electronic devices.FEDERAL PROSECUTORS FORMALLY CHARGE SUSPECT RYAN ROUTH WITH ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION OF TRUMPInvestigators claimed that they have more than 100 outstanding subpoena returns that are still pending, and they estimate that they have “thousands of videos to review” from the large volume of electronic devices seized.TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT SUSPECT WROTE CHILLING LETTER MONTHS BEFORE GOLF COURSE PLOT”All videos, still images, text files, and audio files constitute approximately 4,000 terabytes (4 million gigabytes) of digital review to complete,” the filing said.The filing noted that the FBI is continuing to conduct forensic tests on evidence, including ballistic testing, and fingerprint and DNA comparisons, saying that the evidence would likely include them preparing several expert witnesses to testify.Due to the sheer amount of evidence collected, prosecutors asked Cannon for the trial to be delayed indefinitely to allow adequate time for parties to review the discovery and determine which motions need to be filed.FEDERAL JUDGE ORDERS TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT SUSPECT ROUTH NOT TO BE RELEASEDThe government also requested that the motion deadlines, calendar call, and trial date set be delayed indefinitely. According to the filing, Routh’s defense attorneys did not oppose prosecutors’ request to delay the trial date.Routh is facing attempted assassination charges. He was previously charged federally with possessing a gun with a scratched-out number and with possessing a gun illegally as a felon. He was ordered by a federal judge to remain in custody. Routh pleaded not guilty in federal court in West Palm Beach, Florida.On September 15, Routh allegedly hid in the bushes outside Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach with a rifle as Trump was playing.Authorities said a Secret Service agent spotted the barrel of the gun sticking out and immediately opened fire. Routh allegedly took off, but was arrested a short time later.

A federal judge on Wednesday blocked a California bill that outlaws AI-generated “deepfake” content and required the removal of “deceptive content” from social media. The preliminary injunction comes just two weeks after Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the controversial measure into law, igniting a spat with X owner and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The image, which garnered over 37,000 upvotes and 1,800 comments, stirred a discussion about how college admissions standards have changed over the past 155 years.The algebra portion of the exam consisted of basic questions, which users found surprising, considering MIT is one of the most prestigious universities in the world today.One of the questions says, “Solve 7x – 5y = 24, 4x – 3y = 11,” which is considered a beginner algebra question in U.S. high schools today. Cameras set up in the park to livestream footage of the bears all summer captured the killing, as they also captured a male bear killing a cub that slipped over the waterfall in late July.”National parks like Katmai protect not only the wonders of nature, but also the harsh realities,” park spokesperson Matt Johnson said in a statement. “Each bear seen on the webcams is competing with others to survive.”The nonprofit explore.org, which streams the uncensored bear cameras and helps organize Fat Bear Week, on Monday hosted a live conversation about the death. By the time they are ready to hibernate after feasting on migrating and spawning salmon — each eats as many as 30 fish per day — large males can weigh well over 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms). Females are about one-third smaller.When fans vote in each round, they shouldn’t only consider the bear with the biggest belly. Bear fans are instructed to vote on the ursine that they believe “best exemplifies fatness and success in brown bears.”A taste for seagulls and a bear named after a jumbo jetBear 909 Jr., who last week won the Fat Bear Junior competition for the second time, will face Bear 519, a young female, in the first round. The winner will face the defending champion, Grazer, described as one of the most formidable bears on the river.Another first-round match pits Bear 903, an 8-year-old male who was given the nickname Gully after he developed a taste for seagulls, against Bear 909, the mother of Bear 909 Jr. The winner faces a two-time champion, a bear so large he was given the number of the equally massive airplane, Bear 747.One of the biggest bears ate 42 salmonIn the other half of the bracket, the first-round match has Bear 856, an older male and one of the most recognizable bears on the river because of his large body, challenging a newcomer, Bear 504, a mother bear raising her second known litter. The winner will face perhaps the largest bear on the river, 32 Chunk, a 20-year-old male who once devoured 42 salmon in 10 hours. He’s estimated to weigh more than 1,200 pounds.The last first-round match has Bear 151, a once-playful young bear nicknamed Walker now showing more dominance, versus Bear 901, a solo female who has returned to the river after her first litter did not survive. The winner will face Bear 164, called Bucky Dent because of an indentation in his forehead.Voting in this year’s tournament-style bracket is open through Oct. 8.More than 1.3 million votes were cast last year.
