Jon Stewart calls out Nancy Pelosi, Hunter Biden and Bob Menendez in segment on political corruption

Comedian Jon Stewart called out former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., and Hunter Biden during a segment on Monday focused on corruption titled, “How Dumb Is You?”Stewart first took aim at Menendez, and said his alleged crimes were “f—— awful,” adding, “You, sir, are an elected official in America’s most respected legislative body. It’s like a license to print money. You don’t need to break the law so cartoonishly when the legal corruption in the Senate is so f—— lucrative.”Menendez is accused of accepting bribes from three wealthy businessmen in New Jersey and performing a variety of favors in return, including meddling in criminal investigations and taking actions benefiting the governments of Egypt and Qatar. Stewart also took aim at insider trading in Congress, which the legislative body has yet to vote on. The comedian described Pelosi as one of the “biggest beneficiaries” of their ability to trade stocks before showing video of the former speaker of the House saying members of Congress should not be banned from trading stocks and should be allowed to participate in the “free market.”SEN BOB MENENDEZ MAY BLAME HIS WIFE NADINE DURING FEDERAL CORRUPTION TRIAL: COURT DOCS”Here’s the thing. In a free market, everyone has access to the same information,” Stewart said. “So unless you’re gonna put all of us on the committees, I don’t get it.”He then pointed to a $2 billion investment Jared Kushner’s company received from Saudi Arabia, before playing a clip of the president’s son being asked if he would have gotten a seat on the Burisma board if his last name wasn’t “Biden.” In the video, Biden replied, “Probably not.” “Out of all the senators and representatives who dodged and prevaricated and wouldn’t answer any f—– questions, you know you’re in trouble when the most honest and transparent person in a story of government corruption is the ex-crackhead,” Stewart joked. “Robert Menendez’s gold bars in exchange for favorable legislation is obviously cartoonishly corrupt. But for anyone out there who thinks the status quo of government patronage and influence is of an entirely different species than Menendez, how dumb is you?”Stewart also name-dropped Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Al., and former GOP Sen. Richard Burr earlier in the segment. Burr was investigated in 2020 for a slew of stocks he sold before the COVID-19 pandemic rocked the economy. CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREJury selection for Menendez’ second federal corruption trial in a decade began on Monday. Menendez will stand trial alongside two of the three businessmen he is alleged to have accepted bribes from, real estate developer Fred Daibes and Wael Hana. Menendez, Daibes and Hana have all pleaded not guilty. The third businessman, Jose Uribe, has pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against the others. Menendez announced that he would not be seeking re-election as a Democrat in November, but did not rule out a run as an independent.

White House walks diplomatic tightrope on Israel amid contradictory messaging: ‘You can’t have it both ways’

White House walks diplomatic tightrope on Israel amid contradictory messaging: 'You can't have it both ways'

The Biden administration has been taking criticism as of late for what some have described as conflicting messaging on key subjects relating to the United States’ top Mideast ally: Israel.During a daily briefing last week, Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich pressed White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about the administration’s attestation to an “ironclad commitment” to Israel while “slow-walk[ing] arms sales.”Jean-Pierre replied, in part, by reiterating America’s commitment to Israeli security remains “ironclad.”Meanwhile, President Biden himself pledged that if the Israel Defense Forces incur substantively into the southern Gazan city of Rafah, “I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, to deal with the cities – that deal with that problem.”BLINKEN DELIVERS STRONGEST REBUKE OF ISRAEL YET: ‘GET OUT OF GAZA’Several lawmakers have taken issue with the administration’s stance, including Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Ala., chair of the House Armed Services Committee, who called the president’s recent tack “another shortsighted decision by Biden that undermines our allies, emboldens our adversaries, and sends the message that the U.S. is unreliable.””Our adversaries would love nothing more than to drive a wedge between the U.S. and Israel,” Rogers told Fox News Digital in a statement Friday. “Israel has the right to defend itself against Hamas and Iran.”Rogers’ counterpart in the Senate, Armed Services Committee ranking member Roger Wicker, R-Miss., also called out Biden over a May 8 Associated Press report that the U.S. indeed paused a shipment of bombs in response to Israel potentially making a decision on a “full-scale assault” on Rafah.”If Hamas laid down its weapons, the war would be over. But if Israel lays down its weapons, it would be the end of Israel,” Wicker said. MIKE PENCE ACCUSES BIDEN OF IMPEACHMENT HYPOCRISY”Unfortunately, President Biden has this backwards. He has withheld arms for our staunchest ally one day then professed solidarity with the Jewish people the next,” the Magnolia State lawmaker added.Former National Security Council official Victoria Coates said of the administration’s conflicting messaging, “you can’t have it both ways.””You’re going to have to pick a team and put on a jersey and get in a fight. And the administration is desperately trying to please both sides,” Coates said.”And what they’ve achieved is that both sides are very angry with them. So, you know, it’s it’s just a massive failure both on the policy and the political front.”Two other GOP senators, Ted Budd of North Carolina and Joni Ernst of Iowa, wrote the White House a detailed letter demanding issue-specific answers from Biden on his comments on arms sales and Rafah. Some of the questions posed included demands on which types of ammunition are reportedly being withheld, whether any arms withheld were part of those directly approved by Congress in a recent supplemental appropriation, and how such reports square with the president’s April 23 pledge to “make sure that Israel has what it needs to defend itself against Iran and terrorists it supports.””Why did your administration fail to notify Congress about this decision to withhold assistance to Israel?” Ernst and Budd asked in the letter. “We must give Israel the arms it needs to fight the Hamas terrorists that continue to hold Americans hostage. We call on your administration to immediately restart the weapons shipments to Israel today.”In a statement, Budd told Fox News Digital one of his constituents, Keith Siegel, remains in Hamas captivity along with seven other U.S. citizens.”President Biden is making it harder to secure the hostages’ freedom,” Budd said.Another Republican lawmaker, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Michael McCaul of Texas, called the threat of an arms embargo a “dangerous mistake” and “shortsighted.”On his Fox News program, “Life, Liberty & Levin,” former Reagan Justice Department chief of staff Mark Levin went so far as to say Biden’s actions have renewed “ancient blood libels against Jews.”Stateside, Biden has condemned the “ferocious surge of antisemitism in America” and said that “there’s the right to protest, but not the right to cause chaos” only after he tried to clean up comments made during a press gaggle where he said, “I also condemn those who don’t understand what’s going on with the Palestinians …”CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPThe administration has been criticized for declining to take a tough stance against criminal acts committed by some anti-Israel agitators on college campuses or call on law enforcement to step in.In April, 27 Republican senators wrote a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona to demand an update on any efforts to curb the “outbreak of anti-Semitic, pro-terrorist mobs on college campuses.””These pro-Hamas rioters have effectively shut down college campuses and have literally chased Jewish students away from our schools,” the letter reads in part. “The Department of Education and federal law enforcement must act immediately to restore order, prosecute the mobs who have perpetuated violence and threats against Jewish students, revoke the visas of all foreign nationals (such as exchange students) who have taken part in promoting terrorism, and hold accountable school administrators who have stood by instead of protecting their students.”In response to the protests, Rep. Michael Lawler, R-N.Y., of whose district 90,000 Jewish U.S. citizens call home, drafted the Antisemitism Awareness Act, which successfully passed the House, 320-91, with some “nay” votes falling on grounds the bill would purportedly infringe upon First Amendment rights. Lawler’s office did not respond to requests for comment on this story.Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for comment but did not receive a response by press time.Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich, Bradford Betz, Greg Norman and Andrew Mark Miller contributed to this report.

GREG GUTFELD: There’s no shortage of parasites out there living off the brains of others

GREG GUTFELD: There's no shortage of parasites out there living off the brains of others

As you probably heard, RFK Jr., claims that a worm once ate part of his brain. Lucky for him, he recovered. And lucky for the brain eating worm that he didn’t pick Joe instead, or he would have starved to death. But this whole worm in your brain thing got me thinking that there’s no shortage of parasites out there living off the brains of others. The most obvious are the campus occupiers who have segued into ruining college graduation ceremonies across America. The worm in these heads of these kids sounds like a cross between Karl Marx and someone with even worse hair, Joy Reid. Which explains the united front among communists, anarchists, BLM, Antifa and the Hamas-holes. Also climate change hoaxers. Yep, we’ve seen Greta’s new gig now, since the globe didn’t burn up like she said. So how will she get her screen time? COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY STUDENT IN HANDCUFFS RIPS UP DIPLOMA ON COMMENCEMENT STAGE IN ACT OF PROTESTBut their common denominator is clear: We want to destroy the West and what we’re going to offer you instead is far worse. To them, it’s like replacing Jon Hamm with a ham. Here is video of Queers for Palestine, who have as much in common with Hamas as Kat does with members of Odor Eaters Anonymous, but the Queers for Palestine do have one thing in common with Hamas, irrational hate. They tried to stop traffic at Walt Disney World in Florida.VIDEOBut they can’t think they got a worm. Thankfully, Florida turned these Queers for Palestine into inmates for Palestine in minutes. Turns out you can arrest people blocking the road quickly if you arrest people for blocking the road quickly. And if these Queers for Palestine think that’s bad, imagine what would happen if they ever met Hamas. Hamas loves to party with the LGBTQ community. First, they’ll raise the roof. Then they throw them off it, but that’s actual enforcement. Oh. Thank you. But that’s actual enforcement without contemplating root causes. UNC CHAPEL HILL BOARD VOTES TO DISMANTLE DEI PROGRAMS, USE FUNDS ON CAMPUS POLICE AFTER ANTI-ISRAEL PROTESTSShouldn’t civilization now be collapsing like Jerrold Nadler during a stress test? Up next, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, whose country is pushing the online harms bill, which criminalizes what they call hate speech. What is hate speech in Canada, you ask? It’s any speech that might make a protected group uncomfortable. If that net got any wider, it could catch Whoopi Goldberg’s lunch. So, is this law retroactive? What if you tweeted problematic stuff that’s still out there? What if you once shared a controversial video? Or what if you have an embarrassingly racist photo lying around and you happen to be prime minister of Canada? The law is vague, but what’s scary is that if you are likely to re-offend, you could be locked up indefinitely going forward. All thanks to Trudeau, he is rapidly becoming our hemisphere’s Kim Jong Un. Turns out the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, if your mom bangs Castro. And what if, as an American, you mocked or criticized a Canadian? Could you be extradited to Canada to face charges? Well, let’s try it out on three, we’re going to say: Hey Justin, you suck. One. Two. Three. Hey Justin, you suck! Congrats, everyone. You are now safer vacationing in Mexico. But think about it, could you go to jail in Canada for sharing a video about a certain Canadian shop teacher? Just for the record, that whole thing that wasn’t me, that was all Kat’s idea and Tyrus.JEWISH STUDENTS ACROSS THE US BLAME DEI, FACULTY FOR ANTI-ISRAEL PROTESTS: ‘WASTING MY TUITION DOLLARS’TYRUS: —- You, Greg.Arrest the Black guy. That usually works.TYRUS: Come get me.And go easy on Kat, she’s cold anywhere north of Honduras. Here’s another clear example of a voracious brain worm that must be on its second helping by now, an Irish Eurovision contestant crying over the Israeli contestant advancing to the finals.VIDEOWho knew hemorrhoids could talk? Now, perhaps this creature was probably a nice girl long ago, raised by nice parents, but look at her now. She’s got more hate in her than I do for “Fox & Friends.” And now she’s targeting a truly normal, healthy Israeli contestant for being, well, normal and healthy from Israel, but perhaps the biggest idiocy is that this moron thinks blind, ignorant antisemitism is punk. Sorry, it’s not punk when the competition judges align with you. Nope, you’re about as edgy as a stick of butter at room temperature or what Joy Behar calls breakfast. HILLARY CLINTON SLAMMED BY FELLOW DEMOCRAT FOR ‘DISMISSIVE’ REMARKS ABOUT ANTI-ISRAEL PROTESTERSSo as the brain worms continue to burrow their way into our culture and our kids, just remember they all have a common ancestor. You can call it progressivism or cultural Marxism, whatever it is, you got to ask, how did it get there? I mean, look who’s acting crazy today and who isn’t and that should tell you something. True, there are a few zanies on the right, but that bubbles up from below. This mass hysteria on the left is purely top down. It comes from professors, the media, the hard left organizations that have money and no scruples. This isn’t QAnon, it’s CNN, MSNBC, The Washington Post, Media Matters and the like. That’s why we don’t have the worm. They do.They’re getting it in their diet, but us, we don’t eat that —-, but whatever you call the worms, parents better sit quietly, especially on campus or if you live in Canada. In the meantime, as the adults in the room, let’s take a lesson from Florida and convey a simple message to these students, professors, and the media, and yes, the Canadian PM, for God’s sakes, grow up! You and your worms are destroying the institutions that made the West the most successful civilization ever. And it won’t stop there, because eventually every parasite kills its host. But who knows? By the looks of this lot, they’re so inedible the worms might be looking for a better meal.

Pakistan, US discuss how to tackle the regional security threat posed by IS group and local Taliban

Pakistani and U.S. officials have held their latest talks in Washington on how to expand cooperation in tackling the threat posed to regional security by an affiliate of the Islamic State group and the Pakistani Taliban, Pakistan’s foreign ministry said Monday.TALIBAN-RUN TOURISM INSTITUTE AIMS TO ATTRACT MORE TRAVELERS TO AFGHANISTANA joint statement said Pakistani diplomat Haider Shah and the State Department’s coordinator for counterterrorism, Ambassador Elizabeth Richard, chaired the weekend talks. The talks occurred amid a surge in militants attacks by the Pakistani Taliban, known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan or TTP, and an Afghan branch of the Islamic State group. Families still looking for missing loved ones after devastating Afghanistan floods killed scores

Families still looking for missing loved ones after devastating Afghanistan floods killed scores

When he heard that devastating floods hit his village in northern Afghanistan last week, farmer Abdul Ghani rushed home from neighboring Kunduz province where he was visiting relatives. When he got home, he found out that his wife and three children had perished in the deluge. Two of his sons survived but another son, who is 11, is still missing. “I couldn’t even find the road to my village,” he said, describing how he turned back and went another way to reach his district of Nahrin in Baghlan province.TALIBAN REPORTS AT LEAST 50 DEAD AS FLASH FLOODS WREAK HAVOC IN NORTHERN AFGHANISTANAcross Baghlan, others like Ghani and survivors of the disaster were still searching for their missing loved ones and burying their dead on Monday.”Roads, villages and lands were all washed away,” Ghani said. His wife, his 7-year-old and 9-year-old daughters and a 4-year-old son died.”My life has turned into a disaster,” he said, speaking to The Associated Press over the phone. The U.N. food agency estimates that the unusually heavy seasonal rains in Afghanistan left more than 300 people dead and thousands of houses destroyed, most of them in Baghlan, which bore the brunt of floodings on Friday.Survivors have been left with no home, no land, and no source of livelihood, the World Food Organization said. Most of Baghlan is “inaccessible by trucks,” said WFP, adding that it is resorting to every alternative it can think of to get food to the survivors.U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres has expressed condolences to the victims, said a statement on Sunday, adding that the world body and aid agencies are working with the Taliban-run government to help.”The United Nations and its partners in Afghanistan are coordinating with the de facto authorities to swiftly assess needs and provide emergency assistance,” according to the statement. The dead include 51 children, according to UNICEF, one of several international aid groups that are sending relief teams, medicines, blankets and other supplies. The World Health Organization said it delivered 7 tons of medicines and emergency kits to the stricken areas.Meanwhile, the U.N. migration agency has been distributing aid packages that include temporary shelters, essential non-food items, solar modules, clothing, and tools for repairs to their damaged shelters. The latest disaster came on the heels of a previous one, when at least 70 people died in April from heavy rains and flash floods in the country. The waters also destroyed about 2,000 homes, three mosques and four schools in western Farah and Herat, and southern Zabul and Kandahar provinces.
