New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge has kept close tabs on teammate Juan Soto during their first season together. As the two stars prepare to play in the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Judge knows this could be the last series he plays alongside the young phenom. Soto will hit free agency this winter and could command the largest contract in MLB history, outside of Shohei Ohtani’s $700 million deal. The Yankees won’t be the only bidder at the table for Soto, who is sure to have plenty of options from other teams. But Judge believes Soto will make “the right decision,” whatever that means to them. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM”When the time comes, when this is all over, he’ll make the right decision,” Judge told reporters Thursday. Judge was in a similar position with the Yankees just two years ago. It culminated in an infamous false report from New York Post MLB insider Joel Sherman that Judge “appeared headed” to the San Francisco Giants. Judge reportedly received a 10-year, $400 million offer from the Padres that winter but gave the Yankees a chance to bolster their offer. In a last-minute phone call with owner Hal Steinbrenner, Judge negotiated a nine-year, $360 million deal with the Yankees, taking one year and $40 million less to stay in pinstripes. Soto set career highs this year with 41 home runs and 128 runs scored and produced his signature Yankee moment with a game-winning three-run homer in the 10th inning of Game 5 of the ALCS against the Cleveland Guardians Saturday. Afterward, multiple teammates pleaded publicly with Soto to stay with the Yankees. “We need him to stay. He’s going to stay. We need to bring it home, then we’ll bring him home also,” ALCS MVP Giancarlo Stanton said after the game.”Pay my guy! Pay Juan Soto! $700 million!” said infielder Jazz Chisholm, who joined the team at the trade deadline after competing against Soto in the National League. Yankees fans who stuck around in Cleveland after the game even chanted “Re-sign Soto!”Soto is represented by MLB super agent Scott Boras, who has a notorious history of squeezing teams for every penny in negotiations. But Steinbrenner might not go for a $700 million demand, even if Chisholm thinks it’s worth it. “I’m gonna be honest. A massive fire broke out at a U.S. Army storage center in Busan, South Korea, on Thursday evening, U.S. Army Garrison Daegu confirmed to Fox News Digital. A fire of unknown origin was reported shortly after 6:30 p.m. local time at a warehouse in the Beomil-dong section of Busan. NORTH KOREA HAS SENT TROOPS TO RUSSIA, PENTAGON CONFIRMSU.S. Army Garrison Daegu activated mutual aid agreements with the Busan Fire Department in response to the blaze. Public Affairs Officer Phil Molter said the depot was under renovation and was not occupied when the fire broke out. The fire was under control around 10:45 p.m. It took several more hours to put out hot spots, Molter said. It has not been extinguished. “We have not been able to enter the building due to residual heat and structural integrity of the building, so the cause is yet to be determined,” Molter said. The U.S. Army built the site as a supply depot in 1950, at the beginning of the Korean War.

Former Obama advisor David Axelrod appeared to downplay his criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris’ “word salad city” answers during the CNN town hall Wednesday night.”You mentioned that some of her responses to tough questions, specifically on Israel and on immigration, resulted in ‘word salad city,’ essentially reverting to talking points. By his own admission, Donald Trump weaves when responding to certain questions, and it seems to make no discernible difference to his supporters. So I’m wondering how you think Harris can manage what seemed to be to very different standards,” CNN anchor Boris Sanchez asked Axelrod on Thursday.Axelrod agreed Harris is held to a higher standard than former President Trump and emphasized all the positives of Harris’s answers that night before acknowledging his comment.”Yes, she’s in a more difficult position because she has basically had to introduce herself to the American people in 90 days. Donald Trump, we’ve seen for years, and he does get…there’s no doubt about it. Boris, you listen to a Donald Trump rally, and it is an incredible flight because you never know where he’s going or where he’s going to land or how one point connects to another. At no time have I ever taken something in an attempt to cheat or look for an unfair advantage. I understand that I am responsible for everything that goes into my body and I have to take accountability in this instance. “I have nothing but love and respect for this game, my teammates, coaches, the Lions organization and the City of Detroit. It is disappointing to accept this suspension, and it will hurt me to be away from the team as they prepare this week. So out of respect to my teammates, this will be the last time I address this matter.”ESPN reported Monday that Williams faced a potential suspension. He was at Lions practice Wednesday, though head coach Dan Campbell told reporters afterward the team did not anticipate having Williams active against the Tennessee Titans Sunday. Campbell spoke about Williams’ situation. “I trust this kid. I trust him,” Campbell told reporters, via ESPN. “And, unfortunately, you’ve got to pay for your sins. If something happens and this comes down, so be it. But I know this, we dangled the rope down on the way up. We can’t wait for anybody.”And over a year ago, he started climbing his way up, and he got to us. And maybe he lost his grip, but he’ll climb back up again. That rope’s still there. It’s tied to us, and he’ll be just fine.
