Cowboys demolish Giants behind Dak Prescott’s best start of season

Cowboys demolish Giants behind Dak Prescott's best start of season

Dak Prescott threw for 404 yards and four touchdowns while running for another score, and the Dallas Cowboys routed the New York Giants for the second time this season, extending their home winning streak to 12 with a 49-17 victory Sunday. The Cowboys (6-3) won 40-0 in the opener in New Jersey, and the 72-point margin was their largest in a sweep of an NFC East opponent, topping their 66-point edge against Philadelphia in 1969. The Giants (2-8) were outgained 368-27 in the first half with Tommy DeVito as the first undrafted rookie to start for them at quarterback in the common draft era, save for a strike-replacement game in 1987. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM DeVito, who replaced Daniel Jones last week when the franchise QB sustained a season-ending knee injury, was 14 of 27 for 86 yards with two TDs and an interception. The Cowboys — whose 640 total yards were 12 shy of the franchise record — had a 54-0 combined first-half margin in the two games, this time without any help from defense or special teams after those units scored a TD apiece early in the first rout. Receiver CeeDee Lamb scored on 14-yard run before Prescott’s touchdown tosses to Jake Ferguson (1 yard) and Brandin Cooks (10 yards). Prescott made it 28-0 with a 10-yard run 16 seconds before the break. EX-COWBOYS STAR TALKS AURA OF PLAYING FOR ‘AMERICA’S TEAM’: ‘GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING’ After DeVito’s 19-yard scramble sparked a New York scoring drive in the third quarter, including his second career TD pass, Prescott connected with Michael Gallup on a 41-yard touchdown for a 35-7 lead. Lamb had a spectacular one-handed grab among 11 catches for 151 yards as he became the first Dallas receiver with at least 10 catches for at least 150 yards in three consecutive games. Cooks had his first 100-yard game since joining Dallas in an offseason trade, finishing 13 off his career high with 173. Not only did the Cowboys secure their longest home winning streak since an 18-victory run at old Texas Stadium from 1989-91, but Prescott beat the Giants for a 12th consecutive time since losing to them twice as a rookie in 2016. Dallas has won the past six and 13 of the past 14 in the series. Prescott finished 26 of 35 and set a franchise record with his third game of at least 400 yards passing and four TDs — all in the first three quarters — while throwing an interception that set up New York at the Dallas 12-yard line when the Cowboys’ lead was just 7-0. But Saquon Barkley and coach Brian Daboll had a testy exchange — one of several among Giants players and coaches on a frustrating day — after a failed fourth-down try from the 4 when the star running back was stuffed for no gain. The Cowboys promptly went 96 yards the other direction, capped by the run from Lamb, who also had a punctuating 12-yard scoring catch late in third quarter. INJURIES Giants OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux (concussion) and CB Cor’Dale Flott (shoulder) didn’t return after leaving with their injuries. … Cowboys KR/WR KaVontae Turpin was inactive after injuring his ribs in last week’s 28-23 loss at Philadelphia. UP NEXT Giants: At Washington next Sunday in the last of three consecutive road games. Cowboys: At Carolina next Sunday.

Chris Pratt reminds Americans not to take freedoms ‘for granted’ in Veterans Day tribute

Chris Pratt reminds Americans not to take freedoms 'for granted' in Veterans Day tribute

Chris Pratt saluted troops on Veterans Day and asked Americans to show gratitude to military service members who “paved the way” for the nation. Pratt, 44, asked his millions of Instagram followers to “thank a veteran” in a post shared on the annual day of remembrance.  “Today, we salute the men and women in uniform who have volunteered to step into harm’s way to protect our way of life,” he wrote online. “Every nation on Earth has problems, including ours. However, the United States of America, the grand experiment built on the foundation of liberty, justice, and freedom, is as close to perfection today as any country has been in history.” COUNTRY MUSICIAN CRAIG MORGAN HONORS MILITARY ON VETERANS DAY: ‘CELEBRATE THOSE WHO SERVED’ “Yet, we are still far away. If you want to disagree, you can do so loudly, free from violence or imprisonment. That’s America—the town square where ideas can be shared and debated!” Pratt added, “Unfortunately, that is not the case around the globe, where dissent is met with violence and imprisonment.”  He reminded his followers to not take that freedom “for granted.” LIKE WHAT YOU’RE READING? Don’t forget that. Okay, Dad! We get it!” Carrie Underwood shared a tribute to soldiers on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Thank you to all the courageous heroes that protected our country and continue to keep us safe,” she wrote to her millions of fans. Matthew McConaughey clutched his cowboy hat in his hand as he listened to “The Star Spangled Banner” on the field during a recent University of Texas at Austin football game. APP USERS CLICK HERE TO VIEW POST “It’s a very special day to celebrate those who served,” Morgan said. “I always tell people, when you’re out there barbecuing on that weekend, when you’re on your boats or in your backyard picnic, just remember we get to do the things that we do in this country — and I’ve been in almost 90 different countries — I’ve never stepped foot in one that celebrates the freedoms that we do.” He added, “Remember that. We get to do that because we have those who are willing to make extreme sacrifices, sometimes the ultimate sacrifice, and that is our veterans.” Morgan previously served 17 years in the Army and Army Reserve with the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions as an E-6 Staff Sergeant and Fire Support Specialist and includes Airborne, Air Assault and Rappel Master among his certifications. “So remember that this Veterans Day,” the “Almost Home” singer said. “Remember we’re drinking, kicking back, watching games, drinking beers and barbecuing because there are people who may not be able to do that.”

Arabic copy of Hitler’s ‘Mein Kampf’ found in children’s room used by Hamas: Israeli officials

Arabic copy of Hitler's 'Mein Kampf' found in children's room used by Hamas: Israeli officials

Israeli officials said on Sunday that members of their military found an Arabic copy of Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” in a children’s room, which was used as a base by Hamas terrorists in northern Gaza over the weekend. In a post on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Israel said the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) found the copy of Hitler’s antisemitic work in a room used by Hamas as a terrorism hub. “The terrorist highlighted portions of the book and included his own notes,” the post read. “It starts with words. It ends with Jewish blood in the streets.” PARIS RALLY AGAINST ANTISEMITISM ATTRACTS OVER 100K PEOPLE AS ANTI-JEWISH ACTS CONTINUE TO RISE Israeli President Isaac Herzog spoke about the discovery in an interview with the BBC on Sunday, holding up the book for inspection. He said the book showed signs of personal use. “This is Adolf Hitler’s book, ‘Mein Kampf,’ translated into Arabic,” Herzog told the news outlet. “This is the book that led to the Holocaust and the book that led to World War II. LONDON POLICE IN HOT WATER AFTER ADVISER’S ANTI-ISRAEL CHANT REVEALED: REPORT “The terrorist wrote notes, marked the sections and studied again and again, Adolf Hitler’s ideology to hate the Jews, to kill the Jews, to burn and slaughter Jews wherever they are. This is the real war we are facing,” Herzog added. Nearly 10 years ago, “Mein Kampf” saw a surge in popularity as an e-book that was listed in Amazon’s Propaganda & Political Psychology section for just 99 cents. Originally published in 1925, the 387-page antisemitic manifesto on the “Jewish peril” and the Nazi ideology was written in a Bavarian prison before Hitler rose to power. The book’s title, “Mein Kampf,” translates to “My Struggle.” ANTISEMITISM EXPOSED It has also been distributed by North Korean ruler Kim Jong-Un to his top officials as a leadership skills manual. Herzog’s office issued a statement on the discovery of the book found where Hamas terrorists were based in Gaza. “After the massacre and atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists on October 7 – the day on which the largest number of Jews were murdered since the Holocaust – this is another revelation that testifies to the sources of inspiration of the terrorist organization Hamas, and proves once again that all its actions have the same goal as the Nazis – the destruction of Jews,” Herzog’s office wrote. Anders Hagstrom of Fox News Digital contributed to this report.

Steelers hold off Packers for 6th win of season

Steelers hold off Packers for 6th win of season

Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris combined for 183 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and the Pittsburgh Steelers edged the Green Bay Packers 23-19 on Sunday. The Steelers (6-3) won their ninth straight game decided by eight points or less by following a formula that has become familiar. A little offense. A timely turnover and just enough of everything else to survive. Pittsburgh used touchdown runs by their two backs — who have become essentially 1A and 1B — and Chris Boswell’s three field goals to head into a pivotal stretch with momentum. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM Patrick Peterson blocked an extra point and added a tipped ball that turned into Keanu Neal’s interception in the end zone with 3:20 remaining. Green Bay got the ball back with 59 seconds to go and drove deep into Pittsburgh territory, but Jordan Love’s last-gasp throw to the end zone was picked off by Damontae Kazee. Kazee returned it 30 yards before stepping out of bounds with time expired. Kazee was pushed by Green Bay lineman Zach Tom, leading to Kazee running over Steelers special teams coordinator Danny Smith. A brief melee ensued before cooler heads prevailed. Love completed 21 of 40 for 289 yards and two touchdowns, but the Packers (3-6) were unable to back up last week’s victory over the Los Angeles Rams despite outgaining the Steelers 399-324. Then again, that doesn’t mean much when playing Pittsburgh. The Steelers have been outgained in every game this season, and it somehow hasn’t stopped them from staying in the thick of the playoff race as Thanksgiving approaches. Green Bay trailed by 10 early but took a 19-17 lead on Anders Carlson’s field goal late in the third quarter. RAMS’ STETSON BENNETT MAKES FIRST PUBLIC APPEARANCE IN MONTHS AT GEORGIA GAME Typically, that’s when the Steelers respond. Pittsburgh has made a penchant for rallying in tight games. Wearing the vintage block numbers from the franchise’s iconic “Super Steelers,” Pittsburgh managed to get in field goal range twice to reclaim the lead. The defense did the rest as the Steelers’ unorthodox approach of watching opponents lose games as much as Pittsburgh tries to win it continued. Two teams that have struggled to generate much of anything all season — particularly in the first half — spent the opening two quarters trading scores. The Steelers scored on each of their first three possessions, with Harris and Warren — who were introduced as co-starters before the game — racing into the end zone for touchdowns while Boswell added a 42-yard field goal that gave Pittsburgh a 17-7 advantage, just the second time all season the Steelers have led by double digits. It was fleeting. Love found space in a secondary missing injured All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Green Bay — which was averaging an NFL-worst 4.5 points in the first half, scored 13. Love threw two touchdown passes, including a pretty 35-yard strike to Jayden Reed that brought the Packers to within 17-13 at the break. INJURIES Steelers: LB Kwon Alexander exited in the first quarter with a leg injury and did not return. UP NEXT Packers: Welcome the Los Angeles Chargers to Lambeau Field next Sunday. Steelers: Visit the Browns next Sunday. Pittsburgh won the first meeting with Cleveland 26-22 on Sept. 18.

Publishing giant tells staff to report controversial posts to management after editor comments on Israel

Publishing giant tells staff to report controversial posts to management after editor comments on Israel

Hearst, a media company that owns Esquire, Cosmopolitan and other major brands, reportedly told employees to be careful about “controversial” statements after a senior fashion editor commented on the Israel-Hamas war.  “On Monday, Hearst — whose magazine titles include Esquire, Cosmopolitan and Town & Country — sent staffers an email announcing the new restrictions, which were detailed in an internal document that employees were encouraged to sign,” according to The Washington Post.  “We should be careful to consider the impact that a controversial statement on a hot-button issue may have on Hearst’s reputation,” the policy reads, per documents obtained by The Post. WASHINGTON POST PULLED ANTI-HAMAS POLITICAL CARTOON AMID ‘DEEP CONCERNS’ FROM STAFFERS The report continued: “Although the rules don’t explicitly mention the war, they warn employees that social media posts that wouldn’t meet Hearst’s own editorial standards ‘should not be posted on social media, whether on a Hearst account or a personal one.'” The Post explained that “the policy also urges Hearst staffers to report co-workers’ social media rule-breaking or anything that could ‘impact the reputation or objectivity of Hearst Magazines’ to management, in what the union statement dubbed ‘a frighteningly authoritarian flourish.’” Lizz Schumer, a senior editor and union shop steward at Good Housekeeping, told the Post, “It feels like a drastic overreach on the part of our parent company.”  Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief Samira Nasr apologized after she landed in the news for an Instagram story where she claimed that the cutting of water and power to the Gaza Strip was “the most inhuman thing I’ve seen in my life.”  After backlash, Nasr apologized for what she described as “deeply insensitive and hurtful comments.”  WASHINGTON POST APOLOGIZES, REMOVES ANTI-HAMAS CARTOON AFTER CRITICS CALLED IT RACIST “I want to apologize to my friends, colleagues, and the entire Jewish community for my deeply insensitive and hurtful comments,” Nasr wrote on her Instagram account Thursday. Hearst executives have pledged to donate $300,000 to charitable groups in the region, per the New York Post.  “Samira is fighting for her job,” said one Hearst employee who spoke with The New York Post. “She’s eating crow,” the source also said. Hearst is one of many publications with newsrooms divided over the response to the Israel-Hamas war across the country. There was internal uproar at The Washington Post over a political cartoon that mocked the terrorist group Hamas, Fox News Digital confirmed.  In an email to staffers on Wednesday, the paper’s executive editor Sally Buzbee wrote, “Given the many deep concerns and conversations today in our newsroom, I wanted to ensure everyone saw the notes sent out tonight by The Post’s opinions editor, David Shipley, to Post readers and to his staff in opinions.” The Post cartoon titled “Human shields” depicted a Hamas spokesperson saying, “How dare Israel attack civilians,” while a frightened-looking woman and four small children remain bound with rope to his body. Buzbee forwarded the editor’s note penned by Shipley offering a somber message to readers expressing regret over the cartoon.  “As editor of the opinion section, I am responsible for what appears in its pages and on its screens. The section depends on my judgment,” Shipley began. “A cartoon published by Michael Ramirez on the war in Gaza, a cartoon whose publication I approved, was seen by many readers as racist. This was not my intent. I saw the drawing as a caricature of a specific individual, the Hamas spokesperson, who celebrated the attacks on unarmed civilians in Israel.” Hearst did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
