The Buckeyes are back on top, as Ohio State took down Notre Dame, 34-23, to win the College Football Playoff National Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Monday night. Ohio State has now won nine college football titles, tying them with USC for fourth-most ever among NCAA’s officially recognized championships. This is also the first title since the 2014 season, which was the inaugural College Football Playoff. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe Buckeyes have been such a different team since losing to Michigan in their rivalry game. And after convincingly defeating Tennessee (42-17), Oregon in the Rose Bowl (41-21), and Texas in the Cotton Bowl (28-14), Ohio State used their high-octane offense to barrel its way past Notre Dame to win it all. But this game wasn’t like previous Ohio State wins during this playoff, as the Fighting Irish really made a statement on an opening drive that lasted 18 plays and killed over nine minutes of first quarter clock. And it was all thanks to the hard work by quarterback Riley Leonard and the Notre Dame offensive line. NOTRE DAME, OHIO STATE MEETING IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WITH FAITH AT FOREFRONTLeonard ran nine times for 34 yards and scored after picking up a fourth-and-1 on Ohio State’s five-yard line. ESPN even reported that Leonard ran to the sideline, threw up and stumbled a bit before sitting on the bench. He also appeared to tell teammates that he landed on the ball on one of the runs, which could’ve caused the upset stomach. However, the tides of momentum quickly shifted to the Ohio State sideline, as Will Howard and his group of talented weapons didn’t just respond, but took over when they had the ball in their hands. The ensuing drive went 11 plays and 75 yards, as freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith capped the drive with a perfect play call that saw him act like he was running behind Howard on pre-snap motion but planting in the ground and walking into the end zone with no one in sight. Ryan Day’s group not only tied the game, but the defense turned it up a notch as they forced back-to-back three-and-outs on Notre Dame’s second and third drive. And the Buckeyes’ offense used that to their advantage with two more touchdown drives before the end of the first half. Quinshon Judkins, the explosive running back that splits time with TreVeyon Henderson, scored both of those touchdowns, the first of which being a nine-yard run where he fought through multiple tackles to get across the line. Then, he was wide open in the end zone on a rolling throw by Howard with 27 seconds left in the second quarter to put the Buckeyes up 21-7. And if that wasn’t deflating enough, Judkins scored his third touchdown of the night on the first drive of the second half – a one-yard run that was set up by his 70-yard run on the second play of the half to immediately get the Buckeyes first-and-goal. Judkins finished the game with 100 rushing yards on just 11 carries as well as his two catches for 21 yards.There was some concern for Ohio State, though, when Notre Dame cut it to a two-score game after Leonard found Jaden Greathouse for a 34-yard touchdown and converted the two-point try to make it 31-15. COLLEGE FOOTBALL STAR ASHTON JEANTY TALKS POSSIBILITY OF DEION SANDERS COACHING COWBOYSThe concern was due to an Emeka Egbuka fumble after going 24 yards on a catch-and-run. It was the first Ohio State fumble since their game against Penn State on Nov. 2. Notre Dame used that turnover to drive downfield, and Leonard found himself knocking on the doorstep until an incomplete pass to Greathouse made it fourth-and-goal from Ohio State’s nine-yard line with 9:27 left to play in the game. Given the score, one would think head coach Marcus Freeman wanted to try his luck at another touchdown, but kicker Mitch Jeter and the special teams unit ran out onto the field. And the interesting play call backfired, as Jeter’s 27-yard field goal attempt ran off the left goal post – he hooked it. The game wasn’t over entirely after the defense forced a punt, and Leonard was able to find Greathouse once again, this time on a beautifully thrown ball and an even better catch from 30 yards out. Needing another two-point conversion, Jordan Faison took a handoff and it looked like Ohio State sniffed it out, but he threw it to Beaux Collins for the successful try. Now a one-score game, the Buckeyes had to dig deep with the Fighting Irish knowing a stop gave them a chance to make the comeback complete. Backed up with third-and-11, offensive coordinator Chip Kelly called a gutsy deep pass from Howard to Smith, and despite the freshman not having a single reception in the second half, he secured the dagger – a 57-yard catch to place the Buckeyes on the nine-yard line at the two-minute warning. The Buckeyes could run out the clock at that point with the Fighting Irish using all of their timeouts, and the celebrating ensued.In the box score, Leonard was 20-for-29 for 240 yards with two touchdowns, while also rushing for a team-high 40 yards on 17 carries with his score on the ground. Greathouse had 11 yards on five receptions as well. For the Buckeyes, Smith led the way with his 89 yards on five receptions, while Egbuka had six catches for 64 yards. President Donald Trump arrived at the Commander-in-Chief Ball shortly after 10 PM ET on Monday, and shared his First Dance with first lady Melania Trump – his first of three ball appearances that night.Shortly after the band played “Americans, We,” Trump was introduced by an emcee at the Walter Washington Convention Center in Mount Vernon Square, D.C.The event is geared toward service members. For his first dance, Trump and first lady Melania Trump danced to a contemporary rendition of Julia Ward Howe’s 1861 Civil War anthem “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”The song was the clarion call of the Union Army of the Potomac – and the opposite number to the Confederate Army’s “Dixie.”TRUMP PARDONS NEARLY ALL 1/6 DEFENDANTSIn brief remarks, Trump told the crowd the election was a “tremendous win” and that a big reason he won was “my relationship with you (the American people).”At the military themed ball, he praised his Pentagon chief nominee Pete Hegseth.Trump also spoke at two other balls later in the night, another located at the Washington Convention Center and the final one located at Union Station.The Liberty Ball was sandwiched between the Commander-in-Chief Ball and the Starlight Ball.While the Commander-in-Chief ball was geared towards service members, the Liberty Ball is set to include a wide-range of Trump supporters. It is being headlined by Trump’s address, but, also similar to the Commander-in-Chief Ball, will include some musical performances as well. Those performances will include country singer Jason Aldean, rapper Nelly, and the Village People.At the Liberty Ball – also held at the convention center – Trump shared another first dance with Mrs. Trump.Several members of the Trump family then took the stage, along with Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance. EXCLUSIVE: The Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard has been terminated over concerns about the border, recruitment concerns and an “erosion of trust,” a senior DHS official confirmed to Fox News.Adm. Linda Lee Fagan has been terminated by the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Benjamine Huffman, the official said.Fagan has demonstrated leadership deficiencies, operational failures and an inability to advance the strategic objectives of the Coast Guard.These include the failure to address border security threats, insufficient leadership in recruitment and retention, mismanagement in acquiring key acquisitions such as icebreakers and helicopters, excessive focus on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and an “erosion of trust” over the mishandling and cover-up of Operation Fouled Anchor.Fagan served as the 27th Commandant of the Coast Guard starting on June 1st, 2022. She was tasked with overseeing all global Coast Guard operations and 42,000 active-duty, 7,000 reserve and 8,700 civilian personnel, as well as the support of 21,000 Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers.

President Donald Trump pulled the security clearances of more than 50 national security officials who said Hunter Biden’s laptop had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”A total of 51 former national security officials released a public letter in 2020 claiming that even though the laptop did not have “any evidence of Russian involvement,” it looked like a “Russian information operation.”The letter came after the New York Post reported they had emails showing Hunter Biden coordinated for Joe Biden to meet with a top executive at Ukrainian energy company Burisma months before pressuring Ukrainian officials to oust a prosecutor investigating the company. REPUBLICAN SENATOR SAYS TRUMP SHOULD NOT PARDON HUNTER BIDENIncluded on the list are former director of National Intelligence James Clapper Jr., former directors of the Central Intelligence Agency Michael Hayden, John Brennan, former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, and former National Security Advisor John Bolton. Fox News Digital previously reported that federal investigators with the Department of Justice were aware that Hunter Biden’s laptop was not manipulated and contained “reliable evidence.” Republican lawmakers including Sen. Soon after President Donald Trump took his oath of office across town at the U.S. Capitol, Johng Delacruz, 31, a local Filipino-American nurse, set out from another corner of the nation’s capital, on Meridian Hill off 16th Street NW, joining a cacophony of drums, chants, signs and conversations that left little ambiguity about the ideology bent of the gathering. A man hoisted a pre-made sign, “SOCIALISM BEATS FACISM!” Beneath the message, the name of the organization that paid for the sign’s production: Democratic Socialists of America.WOKE ARMY RETREATS IN DC PROTEST, PIVOTS TO ‘FIGHT BACK’ FOR GAZAA pre-made neon green placard read: “WORKERS RIGHTS & PEOPLES NEEDS. NOT WAR & GENOCIDE,” stamped with “Peoples Power Assembly,” Another slogan, “FIGHT TRUMP’S AGENDA,” bore the smaller-print attribution to Freedom Road Socialist Organization. A pre-printed banner carried by a group of demonstrators read: “WORKERS SHOULD HAVE POWER, NOT BILLIONAIRES!” Below it, the Party for Socialism and Liberation took credit.”I’m proud to identify as a socialist supporting socialist movements,” Delacruz told me without hesitation. “I believe that is the future of humanity and the right side of history. Well, ‘left’ if you will,” he added with a laugh.But you wouldn’t know that from the media coverage of this so-called professional “resistance” to Trump, with the Guardian reporting only that “anti-Trump protests sweep the globe on inauguration day.” Voice of America merely describing the demonstrators as “anti-Trump protesters” and NBC News writing that “progressive groups” held marches around the country –  not a word about the self-described socialist dreams for many of the groups. Nearby, three activists bundled in winter clothes carried a banner in the blue and red colors of Puerto Rico’s flag, also waving overhead. It bore the name, Diaspora Pa’lante Collective, advocating for Puerto Rico’s independence—and a socialist government to lead it.A man and a woman dressed in black masks dramatically pushed a faux guillotine, emblazoned with the ominous message: “COME GET SUM.”These weren’t fringe gatherings of hobbyists. Among them was Medea Benjamin, the rich co-founder of Code Pink, marching with a cardboard heart-shaped sign painted hot pink.”The media doesn’t give a full and honest reportage of movements like this,” Delacruz told me. “It holds a purpose to uphold the status quo of the capitalist system, if you will. If we believe socialism to be the antithesis to capitalism, then of course, it’s not going to cover it. I think at best it’ll say anti-Trump protesters from various grassroots movements, if that. But I highly doubt they will go with the particular calls and demands that we have.”Understanding these demands is crucial. The groups here weren’t just protesting Trump—they were advancing socialism, Marxism and communism. Many of these organizations also have a pro-Russia stance, rooted in a propaganda tradition the Soviet Union pioneered: agitprop. Short for “agitation and propaganda,” agitprop combines political messaging with provocative action to influence and mobilize. I call protests like this “agitprop actions.”The journalists I spoke to at the rally admitted they rarely identify the groups behind the protests. “Audiences don’t really understand socialism,” one reporter told me. “They tune out when they hear the word.” It’s easier to reduce the activists to concepts their readers can grasp.On the eve of the protest, I stayed up until 3 a.m., researching the ideologies of the 205 groups involved nationwide in the January 20 protests, as part of reporting for the Pearl Project, a nonprofit investigative reporting project that I cofounded. My analysis: 27 were Palestinian, Muslim, Arab, or Islamist; 63 self-identified as socialist; and 115 fell into what I term “adjacent” categories.The protest industry is a complex and often opaque network of organizations, funding streams and ideological agendas that work together to orchestrate demonstrations, shape public narratives and influence political outcomes, like an effective “agitprop” operation. Understanding this ecosystem is critical because it reveals the motivations, alliances, and strategies behind what often appears to be spontaneous grassroots activism.Far from being isolated events, protests are frequently coordinated efforts involving global actors, local chapters, and significant financial backing. Through the Pearl Project, I aim to investigate and expose the mechanisms of this industry—identifying the players, tracing their funding and analyzing their impact. By shedding light on how protests are organized and sustained, positioning themselves now as the “resistance” to the Trump administration, I hope to provide transparency and equip the public with a deeper understanding of the forces shaping political discourse and activism.Walking through Meridian Hill Park revealed these agendas more clearly. The groups’ slogans championed socialism and anti-imperialism in countries like the Philippines, South Korea, Venezuela, Cuba—and here in the U.S. Their endorsers didn’t hide their intentions.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONThe groups’ 205 “endorsers” nationwide don’t hide their agendas. Based in Salt Lake City, “Mormons with Hope for a Better World” says it is “committed to anti-racism, intersectional feminism, Trans and Queer liberation, disability justice, individual bodily autonomy, reproductive justice, socialism, anti-imperialism, and decolonization.” Leaders of Qiao Collective, a media outlet say they seek to “be a bridge between the U.S. left and China’s rich Marxist, anti-imperialist political work and thought.” The “Project for a Revolutionary Marxist International” has its agenda in its name.As the march turned from 16th Street NW onto Massachusetts Avenue NW, Lacy MacAuley, 46, became a focal point for cameras. Wearing a disco outfit for a nearby “dance-off protest,” she donned a mask over her sunglasses that read: “TRUMP IS SO NOT THE VIBE.””I am an anarchist,” she said with a smile. “I self-identify as one. That means I question and oppose hierarchies and the rule of people over others.” While MacAuley criticized socialism as often becoming “too centralized,” she added, “It’s thinking in the right direction.”By the end of the day, the protest wound down at Dupont Circle. The scent of marijuana lingered in the air as demonstrators dispersed.
